Some of my songs were not copied fully into iCloud from my music Library and re-syncing does't work to make them whole again

When I migrated to a mini my iTunes libraries  got messed up. And some songs were only partially copied to the cloud. Now no matter what have
done the cloud replaces my efforts with the same partial song. So when that song is being played back the audio drops out but the song keeps playing
the same song the rest of the in silence, but ends within the right amount of time.
Very wierd, I have spent hours on this.

So I am unclear, did you purchase these songs or import them from a cd?
If you imported them and still have the CD try importing them again and see if they work the delete the others.
Or if you purchased from itunes re-dowwnload and see if they work. Maybe they are corrupted files and this should resove it.

  • Syncing issue: Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "[name of song]", were not copied to the iPhone "[name of iPhone]" because they could not be found.

When trying to sync with any of my apple devices the following message is displayed:
Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "[name of song]", were not copied to the iPhone "[name of iPhone]" because they could not be found.
For a list of items that could not be copied, click the + below.
    86 total problems.
I am able to play the songs in my iTunes library without any issues and there is no "!" next to the listed songs in my library.
It is only when I try to sync my devices that this problem arises.
The songs are also on my laptop and not on an external hard drive.
Can someone please help me out.
    Thanks

    Hey thanks for the reply.
When the box pops up there is no option to search for the location. I just have to click ok.
Then when I go to the songs with problems in my iTunes library and try to play them they play fine.
It is only while syncing that iTunes for some reason is unable to locate the song.
    Any suggestions?

  • "Some of the items were not copied/file not found..." when syncing

Every since about a month or so ago, everytime I connect my iPod (or iPhone) to itunes, it does the auto-sync, and after every sync, I keep getting the message:
"Some of the items in the itunes library, including ..., were not copied because they could not be found"
This started out with about 10 'errors' and now today, there were 46 total problems (songs). I have done absolutely nothing to delete any of these songs. When I look in my itunes library, there is now an " ! " to the left of the song, and if I click and try to play the song it says the original file could not be found. This is happening to more and more of my songs, pretty soon I'm not going to have a library left! Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

I have had the same problem. Although I accept that performing the remedy suggested helps in the short term I fail to see how that addresses the underlying problem. I have a new 80GB 5th Generation iPod. I have over 6000 pieces on it and initially I had 4-5 items that wouldn't syn even though they were both on the iPod and the HD of the computer. I corrected the items as suggested and then a few days later like you I had over 100items not syncing. Not only will it take over an hour to manually find the so-called missing files and replace them but I'm concerned that in a week's time it will be a different hundred. Any other suggestions.
The missing files can all still be found in iTunes Library but for some reason the software is not opening them. Any further guidance or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Here are the details:
Trying to sync iPhone 3GS running IOS 4.1 with iTunes 10.0.1. on SL 10.6.4.
The error message I get is:
"Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "Nostradormouse {and 6 other iBooks}", were not copied to the iPhone "sgunes's iPhone" because you are not authorized for them on this computer." And then it states to authorize this computer.
I then authorize it and get the "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50). The was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
No matter how often I try I get the same error message.
When I try to update free app updates I get the same error:

There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.

Try playing one of the problem tracks in iTunes. If it is not authorized, iTunes should invite you to do so.
Tracks will not transfer to your iPod if they are not authorized.
If you have trouble getting your tracks authorized, there is an Apple help that includes a email form for contacting Customer Service:

  • Syncing Fails with iPod Video - Some of the items were not copied

When I try to sync my iPod Video, I get this message displayed in iTunes 7.5:
"Some of the items in the iTunes Library, including "NPR ...." were not copied because they could not be found".
Well I don't even see these two podcasts in question listed in my Itunes Podcasts List. To make matters worse, the two particular NPR podcasts are no longer being listed for download by iTunes.
    Is my ITunes Library corrupt?
Do I need to rebuild my iTunes Library (via the instructions at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451 )?

I rebuilt the Itunes Library using these instructions --
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451
That fixed the problem. The only thing it does not tell you is that you must re-subscribe to all your podcasts.

  • Some Handheld/PC records were not copied to your PC/Handheld, your PC/Handheld may be full...

So, after syncing the new Tungsten E, I got the above error message. I went back and began deleting superfluous old events in the calendar. Upon re-syncing, didn't work. I thought about getting the additional 1-year Palm support and asking a human-being about what the heck to do, then I found this forum.
I enthusiastically did 2 hard resets then re-sync (per recommendations in another string of comments below), but no good. Then I thought it may be a software issue and put in the CD that came with the new E, thinking it may be another version or something (I had previously used a Tungsten E and was just trying to sync a new one, and I am relatively computer-challenged). Then from the CD Wizard, I did the Modify, and Repair functions - no good - still get the same error message on the sync logs.
Then I did an uninstall and reinstall - no good, same error message. This was after restarting my computer. Then the wizard kicked-in again and asked me to do another sync - who am I to say no? It went through a long sync and gave me the same message, but I also either noticed for the first time or it really stated this for the first time, "Protocol Error: File already exists. (400B)."
Then I did another hard reset, clicked "back" on the wizard, then clicked on the Next to get to the Wizard screen that tells me to perform a Hot Sync and tried to sync it again. It went thru another long sync where it stated it was "Restoring handheld databases." Same 'some handheld records were not copied to your PC' error message. I was not online so I did another hard reset, got the laptop online, and tried another sync. No luck - same "records not copied to PC/Handheld...PC/Handheld may be full" but neither one is actually full.
Then I noticed the Wizard apparently did not recognize that a sync had been performed, because the "Next" button did not highlight (so I could click on it) after I did the sync! But interestingly, even though the error message comes up, the desktop and the PDA do in fact sync, even when I test it with new calendar events!
So, I do not think this is a problem in terms of usefulness of the PDA, but why the heck do I keep getting the error? Thanks, and any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Post relates to: Tungsten E

I completely uninstalled the desktop software and reinstalled it, making deletions from the registry and such. Did not work for me. Then I called a friend and he helped. Since my desktop and Palm were actually sync'ing even thought I was getting the error message, he said to do a hot sync with the Palm overwriting the desktop. He said that if the desktop was more current, have it overwrite the Palm handheld, but for me the opposite was true.
I did this and the calendar synced! No error message. Not sure if that will work for all of you who have clear discrepancies between what is in the desktop calendar and the handheld calendar, but it worked for me at least. Good luck and you also can try PalmOne support online by emailing them. They do get back to you promptly - even though their solutions did not help me this time. They did try to help.

  • Error 'songs were not copied b/c they cannot be played on this iPoD'

    Help!
My PC crashed and I restored a backup of my music to my laptop. I installed the newest iTunes but when I went to sync my iPOD nano (first generation? I think) I got the above error. Over 2/3 of the songs wouldn't sync. The error listing says the file type is not supported by the iPOD. All of the files are MP3 I ripped before. They are all playable on the PC. I have restored the ipod and reinstalled iTunes and re-started everything. All the software, firmware and Windows XP is fully up to date. The info on the songs list MPEG format convered with iTunes 6.xx. I have re-imported several and this did not help. I have used the 'convert to MP3' function that is available on some of them and this did nothing. What's up?!! Is it true that the earliest Nano's are not functioning with the latest sofware? Help!

What is the format of the songs that won't copy. Some of the earlier iPods would not play Lossless or other types of files.

I followed the instructions in the help menu on doing this but nothing seems to work, Help anybody ? Have installed the lastest version of itunes and I'm running windows XP.   Thanks

Is it possible that you are not seeing the thirteenth song because you did not scroll all the way down within the playlist?

  • Some songs do not copy from iTunes to iPod

This is very frustrating. I have a 5th Generation 60gig iPod. There are about 20,300 songs in my library, none of them from the iTunes store. All legal, all owned by me and I have the CDs to prove it. When I update the iPod all but about 4 or 5 songs copy over. The frustrating thing is there's no way to find out which songs are not copying over to the iPod, so I can't tell if there's a problem with them or what. AppleCare tells me the only way to find out is to visually compare the list on the iPod with the list in iTunes. I have 20,000 songs here and allegedly one of the most powerful computers you can get and I have to compare two nearly identical lists visually?? Oh, by the way I'm running 10.4.6 and the latest version of iTunes and the latest iPod update. This never happened with my 4th Generation iPod. Any thoughts at all of what to do would certainly be appreciated.
    Powerbook G4, iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Are you basing the few that don't get sent to your ipod on the file count? Could there be duplicates? I've noticed that there are some of my movies that don't get sent over but I usually get a warning that they aren't in a compatable format.
There is an option in either file or edit (can't remember exactly where, I'm at work) but you can filter to show all the duplicates. I've noticed that when I drag files over to be copied to my ipod and there are duplicates, it only does one.
After you find the culprits, another thing would be to export the file to your desktop. Delete it from iTunes then reimport it making sure of the file format.
    just a thought

  • "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied"

I bought two albums on iTunes today and downloaded them to ITunes on my PC.  When I tried to sync them with my iPod nano i got an error message saying the some of the files were not copied becasue the audio format is not supported by the iPod.  Why would iTunes downloaded tracks in a format not supported by an iPod?  The tracks in question won't play in iTunes either although the other tracks on both albums do.  Any solutions to this problem, please?

I've solved the problem myself by deleting the tracks and downloading them again from iCloud.
Still not clear why tracks downloaded in different formats, though!
