Some of my text messages are in blue and some are in green. why is that?

Some of my outgoing messages are blue and some of them are green. why is that?

Imessage causes this.

  • On the iPhone, why do some texts show up in blue and some in green?

Dumb question.. Why do some texts show up in blue and some in green on the iPhone?

Not dumb at all. The blue ones are iMessages, while the green ones are regular text messages.

  • HT1689 some of my texts when sent turn blue and sat deleivered and others green and say delievered a txt message?

Why do some text messages when sent to same user turn blue and say delievered and some turn green say sent as text message

I fully disagree. The problem is not solved this way as indicated by jessikafrombrighton in response to stevejobsfan0124. In addition, if the wireless is down, the message IS NOT automatically sent as SMS. Many other posts mention this problem.

  • HT1688 why am I getting appointments on my iPhone calendar that are in blue and they are not syncing with my Mac Book calendar?

I started getting appointments I create on iphone 4s in blue instead of the green that is usual.  I am also noticing that these appointments that are in blue are not syncing with my other calendars on my other devices.  Icloud is enabled and calendars is checked.  This just started happening...

    Hello jricks8
Check and see what calendar it is being added to. You may see it something that is local to the iPhone or another sync service that is not setup on your computer. Check out the page below to find out more information to sort you out.

  • HT1454 how do I print off my text messages to include date and time received I have an iphone 3G

Hi   I have an iphone 3G and need to know how to print off some of my text messages including the date and time.   Does anyone know how I do this?

Yeah Dave is right, thats a good idea.
We could also cry to apple at www.apple.com/feedback
Many people seem to want this feature including myself....Sometimes. I can live without it but sometimes I find myself search for the specific time I sent a specific message and cannot find it.

  • Why are some text messages blue and some green

Why are some text messages blue and some green?

Blue text messages are iMessages (with other iOS and Mac users with iMessage enabled).
Green are regular SMS messages to non-iPhone users and iPhone users with iMessage not enabled.

  • HT5661 why are some texts in blue and some in green

Why are some texts on the I 4s phone in blue and some in green

    Hi cstack,
Blue messages are iMessages (i.e., messages sent via Wifi to other Apple devices)
Green messages are SMS messages (i.e., messages sent via your Cellphone to non-Apple devices, or when Wifi isn't available for Apple devices)
P.S. Apple devices using iMessage only.
    Cheers,

Go to settings>messages>send and receive at>you can be reached by iMessages at> Uncheck your phone number and you can select your Apple ID emal address if you want to use that for messages.

  • I deleted some of my text message histories to get rid of 'other' space (6.33 gb). They were gone from iMessage, but they still showed up in search, so they were still taking up space on my phone. I synced my iPhone (4s) but the messages are still there.

I deleted some of my text message histories to get rid of 'other' space (6.33 gb). They were gone from iMessage, but they still showed up in search, so they were still taking up space on my phone. I synced my iPhone (4s) with iTunes but the messages are still there. How can I get rid of these texts for good and have more space on my phone? 6.33 gb of other space is way too much, thats almost half of my overall available space (13.5 gb.) I don't want to reset my phone and lose all my other texts/ app progress/ photos. I do have backups, but when I restore from the backup the other space comes back along with everything else. What can I do to get rid of this other space and the 'deleted' text messages? (I'm running iOS 6.1.3 if that helps)

But once again, I do not want to lose my other texts, app progress, and photos. I could sync the photos but i would still lose the app progress and texts. I would only restore if it was the only option left, but the other space, as already stated, isnt the main concern. The main concern is those 'deleted' texts. If they go, then a good size chunk of the other space goes. I know you CAN delete texts for good. It worked fine before. All i want to know is why its not working for me now, and how to fix it.
I also know that when you delete texts on your iphone, they get marked for deletion, however they stay on your device (thats why they show up when you search for them.) then when you sync your device with itunes, the texts marked for deletion should disappear. When i synced they didnt disappear. Thats what i need an explanation/solution for. Why the texts marked for deletion didnt get fully deleted after the sync.

  • There are text messages that I'm having trouble deleting.  With some of my text messages, I can swipe to the left and delete ... or press and hold, get more and delete to trash can icon. But there are some where neither will work. Can't delete. Help!

  • Kin one not sending and receiving some of my text messages?

I've had my kin one for several months now (mine is used as a feature phone, no data package). I was having no problems up until now.
in the past week or so, I've noticed that I'm not getting some of my text messages. also, some people are not receiving some messages I send.
plus, when I send a message, normally it pops up right away in the thread, so I can read what I just sent. lately, it's not doing that anymore. if I want to read what I just sent, I have to back out to the main menu, and then go back to that contact's message thread to read it.
is anyone else having these issues?  I wonder if they're going to get worse.....

When I am recieving messages from friends they sometimes arrive as blanks messages, usually 3 at a time.  And recently I have been having trouble receiving messages, as well as sending messages. I have not added anything new to my phone. I tried *228. And Yes I recently moved, but have been living here without many problems for 6 months.
I have tried turning the phone off and removing the battery, as well as removing the battery while the phone was still on. These things may help for one or two messages, but  then reverts back to the missed text and unreceived messages.
I can definitely see how this can be unsettling for you.  I use text messaging all the time and if I was having these issues I would be concerned as well.  In order to resolve your issue can you please PM me your name and number and I can see what other options we have for you.  Hope this helps.  Thanks.

  • I only have access to wifi, imessage started defaulting to green text message instead of blue imessage to people who it previously worked fine with.  Now I can't send outdoing messages, i have turned SMS off and it still does this, any suggestions?

I only have access to wifi, imessage started defaulting to green text message instead of blue imessage, thus they fail to send, I have turned off SMS and restarted the phone and the problem gotinues.  Any suggestions?

iPads only support iMessage. You cannot send SMS with any of the native iOS functionality on it. There may be some apps in the app store that will, and certainly several messaging platforms (but read the descriptions carefully).

Text messages being receive twice by some recipients:
I have had a couple of contacts tell me they are receiving text messages I send from the Z10 twice.
Not everyone thou. I've asked. I'm sending from Rogers to a Rogers user. They both have 9700's.

Anyway, I followed the steps you provided, and changed all of the settings including <-- Settings <-- FaceTime and Settings <-- Messages <-- Use your Apple ID for messages.
Just to be clear, while you have to use an Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime, you should not be using that e-mail address to receive at or send from since you're using your father's ID.  Later in your post it sounds like you de-selected e-mail addresses that were not yours, which is correct, but I wanted to make sure you understand that you should not be using this ID for a contact point since it is not yours.
If your father is still getting your text messages from your friends, I suspect that either:
    (a) after making these changes you need to turn iMessage and FaceTime off for a brief period, then turn back on, or
    (b) your friends are replying to older messages that you sent from your father's Apple ID, or
    (c) your father's iPhone somehow has your e-mail entered as one of the possible contact points for his iPhone.
If the cause is (a) turn iMessage and FaceTime back on since you've already turned them off.
If the cause is (b) see the last paragraph of my 1st post.  Send your friends a new iMessage and tell them to only reply to that conversation and delete prior conversations.
If the cause is (b) have your father de-select (or remove) your e-mail address from his iMessage and FaceTime settings.
