Some of the apps I downloaded have turned black and says "waiting" on the bottom. What is going on?
The app downloads have stalled on you for some reason and they are in a waiting state and that is why you are seeing "waiting" under the icons. The apps are useless unless you can delete them and download them again, or complete the downloads.
I have posted theses suggestions many times in the past, and some of these suggestions have worked for other users. Give them a try in the order in which they are typed.
1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes. If you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

Some of the apps previously downloaded have now become blank - white box instead of picture. Name of app still appears. Have tried hard reboot and sync to make sure everything is up to date. Anybody ever had this? How can I fix?
One more thing to try. Double click on the home button. Scroll in that bottom line of icons (swipe finger to left) to the app that are all white. Hold your finger on the app until the - sign appears. Tap it to close the app. Hopefully it will then show up correctly. (As they say about chicken soup curing a cold, "can't hurt")

yes and i have actually tried turning off my ipod and leaving it off for a while then come back to it later and it still wont let me get into my apps. the only apps i have access to is my music, safari, email, photos, and basically all the apps that was already on here. but like my photoshop, temple run and apps that i downloaded from the app store will not open for anything. i must say though that after i moved out of my parents house and lived with my aunt and uncle and my mom brought the rest of my belongings to their house for me, they deleted my itunes account beacuse now i cant log in to itunes anymore and also i havent updated it in a while but still, i've never had this problem before even tho i havent updated it and got my account deleted, so why am i all of a sudden having this problem with my ipod touch??????

Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

It's not an iTunes login / password issue because sometimes one or two of the Apps will download and the others stall with the blank progress bar. The internet connection is working fine in all other respects.

i have 10.5.8 and i'd like to update to Lion but I haven't the app store avaiable to my sistem and I can find the atualization. At the software update doesn't have any atualization... I updated my iphone4 to IOS5 and having problems to use ICloud
As Retired Engineer indicated, you will need to install Snow Leopard first. After you install Snow Leopard, you need to go into Software Update and perform the updates. 10.6.6 will install the App Store. You should continue to update to 10.6.8 before purchasing and installing Lion from the App Store.
Be sure your machine meets the minimum requirements. Basically, any Mac with a Core 2 Duo processor or later and at least 2GB of RAM (but 4 is highly recommended). If you have a first generation MacBook Pro with a Core Duo, you will not be able to upgrade to Lion. -

can anyone help me?Again, it depends on what you plan to use your system for. If its going to be some light video editing or some final cut pro, I would get at least a fastmac or powerlogix processor upgrade between 1.5ghz to 2.0ghz. The highest you can go, for now, is 2ghz PowerPC G4.
However, if you're like me and use your system for EVERYDAY tasks, wordprocessing, and internet browsing, you are better off with a 1ghz upgrade up to 1.5.
Whatever you decide, I would go with a dual processor because that will help to prolong the computer just until you can save up for a faster system. The real only reason I am going with an intel mac is just for the heck of it. I haven't used windows in over 3.5 years. Yes, I have extensive knowledge with PCs and also Macs, but the intel architecture back then was horrendously slow and I like the Mac. I am not an expert on the intel architecture of today's mactel machines, but I will not give in to the fact that Intel is the better of the two. For this reason, I plan on still using my PowerPC 2003 MDD dual 1.25 alongside an Intel Mac Mini.
Mac Pros? Although, I like a computer with expandability, alas! My savings dictates to me that they are still too high for me to afford. And until someone on here can tell me that the processor is indeed UPGRADABLE like PCs of today, then I will consider a Mac Pro - low end and then get an intel processor upgrade.
Until then, I will continue to use my MDD and be happy with what I have. Personally, I'd rather have this than nothing. -
For some reason some of my apps suddenly went dark and say waiting. I tried syncing with the computer and updating all the apps but they stayed dark. The individual apps in question say they are updated when I looked at them. Any ideas? Do I need to just delete them off the IPad and start over?
Hi you guys,four days ago my FT and iMessage worked well on my iPhone 5 IOS6.1.3,but my phone Number did not in the caller ID loop,so I turned both of them off,when I wanted to turn it on again,but failed,I tried so many times,but make no difference,It shows me"waiting for activation".Then I found the solution on internet,and you know there are many possible solutions,just like:
1.change the wifi DNS to 8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4.and you must turn your cellular ON.
2.restore the phone setting.Settings>>General>>reset>>all the phone setting.
3.restore the network setting.Setting>>General>>reset>>the network setting.
3.reset the network.
4.reset your Date&time.Setting>>Date&Time>>set automaticlly>>ON.
5.change another network to activate.
6.take out the sim card to activate.
I did everything,but nothing happend,it still"waiting for activation"
And today afternoon,i try to activate again,when i turn iMessage on,it activate successfully.OMG,it is really amazing.and the same to my Facetime.
I am so exciting and strange how it happen...
I followed all the setting above 1.2.3.4.5.6,the only difference is i turned the "enable 3G" OFF(Settings>>General>>Cellular Data>>Enable 3G>>OFF),but it keep ON before now.
seriously,i am not sure if the "enable 3G"causes this problem,but it really happened to me,so you guys can try if you have the same problem,

Some please help me. I tried to re start my iphone 4, but it went something wrong. instead of it turned black and tunred on again. it like a gray color. When i took out my card i can see the light inside it. what should i do turned it back on again..
At the AT&T store. Tried using iCloud but only 120 songs were transferred and when I access my iTunes account now it only shows 120 and not the 450 anymore that I purchased on my old phone. Tried to sync again from the phone to iTunes and it still not working.
I purchased everything under the same apple ID account I called apple support and spent almost 2 hours with tech support for assistance and we got disconected and they never called me back.
I'm at the point where I'm about to never purchase anything anymore from apple go to another company retrieve every single charge made on my bank account from iTunes and file a law suit against the company. It's being a week that I called for assistance and no one called me back to help me with this matter even after I responded a survey with a complaint about not getting a resolution to my problem.
If you could please help me I will appreciate, I'm out of the country now and can't stay on the phone for a long time.

I was updating my ipad (ios7) while syncing with my laptop. suddenly the screen turned black and seconds later a huge itunes icon appeared on the screen. the same icon appears and not the usual interface even after resetting it several times.

I'm trying to download an app off of the App Store and the little cloud pops up next to the app I wanna download because I used to have it when I had my old Apple ID. How do I get this off so I can get the app again using my current Apple ID?
Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID. -
My ipad automatically tried to update skype. It has been installing for 3 days and the message waiting is on the icon. I am unable to delete skype to try and re install. I have gone to the licence page but there is nowhere that I can agree the terms as it is still trying to load.
delete the app on itunes (on PC) then download it again.

When you updated to Mavericks and qualified for the free iWork apps and then installed them, the old iWork apps were rounded up and put into a folder name iWork' 09 and the three new versions of the apps are scattered in the apps folder in alphabetical order.

I went on iTunes and the App store today and both of them have somehow changed to be in UK form. The money symbol is different and it shows me whats trending there and not in america, where I live. How can I change the location back to it's original form so I can see whats trending in america and everything else. Please help.
Try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your phone and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section and select the US.
