Some of the extensions I am using are greyed out when I attempt to make their tool bar viewable

There are several extensions I have installed from the Safari extension gallery. Two of them are the twitter extension and the Gtool Bar. I would like their tool bars to be viewable but they are greyed out under the View menu option. Any reasons why this is and what can I do?

Definitely contact the developers but you can also try deleting the Extensions.plist
Go to ~/Library/Safari/Extensions
Move the Extensions.plist file from the Extensions folder to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

Try:

The back and forward arrows are greyed out all the time - How can I fix this?

I am currently using firefox ver 21. However the forward and back buttons are greyed out and will not work. I would be happy to re-install the program but how do I re-install without losing all my bookmarks and settings.

I used Image Capture to scan documents in order to upload to a website. When I go to select the .jpg files they are greyed out. Any suggestions?

When syncing my son's iPod, the apps on the computer screen are greyed out. The check mark is there, but it is greyed out as well so I am not able to select or deselect apps. What it this and how do I fix it?

I solved it. The restrictions were disabled so I enabled them. The grey immediately went away. Then after syncing I disabled them again so the little one can't download apps.

I had created a partition in my drive, one of which was protected. Unfortunately, I do not remember the password. How do I open that partition? Most of the features are greyed out when I go to disk utility? Help Please!!!

I had created a password protected partition on my drive and unfortunately have lost that password. Please guide me if the drive can be partitioned? To give some more details - I had created 3 partitions, one is main start up drive, then 2nd partition which was password protected and the 3rd partition without password again.

The submit button in Compressor 3.5 is greyed out when i attempt to submit a batch

The submit button on Compressor (3.5) is greyed out and will not allow me to submit a batch. This problem appeared suddenly with no changes made to the settings. Final cut has been scrubbed from the mac and reinstalled, but the problem persisted. I have downloaded and installed the Digital Rebellion patch with no success. Does anyone have a fix for this?

I had the problem with Submit button greyed out...
Tried trashing prefs for Compressor. Nothing changed.
Tried "Compressor > Preferences. ... Enter IP addresses..". Nothing changed.
Then i had a look at System Preferences for QMaster .... and tried to work out if anything was wrong ( looked through the instructions for setting up QMaster: http://documentation.apple.com/en/appleqmaster/distributedprocessingsetupguide/i ndex.html#chapter=5%26section=2%26hash=apple_ref:doc:uid:TempBookID-ReplacedWhen AssociatingWithMessierRevision-90620CRE-1015456.....
.. at the end of the "To turn on cluster controller services" section.. it mentions
"Click Start Sharing.
The cluster is enabled, making this computer a cluster controller."
So i clicked start sharing.
Compressor now works fine.

Ive used Youtube Converters to download my music, but since ive updated to IOS 7.3 the songs i download, play on my itunes but are greyed out when i try to sync them to my iphone 5? HELP !!

Ive used youtube converters for ages now, but since i did the last update, its just not working? This hasnt happened before with any of the other updates? Ive tried deleting them and redownloading them, using different MP3 converters, they've all worked before but for some reason, itunes are not accepting them ?! So, after a few months of testing, capture and sending logs back and forth to Apple Engineers, we found out there is a setting in AD, under User Account that prevent us to log into AD from Mountain Lion. If you would go to your AD server, open up a user account properties, then go to Account tab, the "Do not require Kerberos preauthentication" option is checked. As soon as I uncheck that option, immediately I was able to log into AD on the Mac client. Apple engineers copied all my AD settings and setup a test environment on their end and match exact mine AD environment. They was able to reproduce this issue.
The bad part about this is... our environment required the "Do not require Kerberos preauthentication" is checked in AD, in order for our users to login into some of our Unix and Linux services. Which mean that it is impossible for us to remove that check mark because most, if not all of them some way or another require to login into applications that run on Unix and Linux. Apple is working to see if they can come up with a fix. Apparently, no one has report this issue except us. I believe most of you out there don't have that check mark checked in your environment... Anyone out there have any suggestion to by pass or have a work around for this?

My sound output is disabled, the F10, 11,12 keys are greyed out

I think somehow I disabled the sound accidentally. I did restart my computer but problem still there.

1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
     Make sure that the box for "Mute" is not checked.
2. If you see red light in the headphone port plug the headphone into and out of the port
     5 or 6 times to flip the switch inside. Sound may be stuck in the digital mode.

    Choose the method for:

Some of my loops are greyed out... is there something wrong?

In my loop browser some but not all of my loops are greyed out and can't be played. For instance, slide guitar, celeste, vocals and horns. Should these be normally accessible and if so what could be wrong with mine. How can I fix this?

Trying to share ethernet over WiFi but connection options are greyed out?

Newby question: I have a Mac Mini 2GHz C2D running OS 10.5.5. I am connected to the internet using my cable modem. When I use the Sharing system preferences control to establish Internet Sharing the boxes with "Share your connection from" and the box with "To computers using" are greyed out.
I'm fairly certain that the wifi card is working because I can see my neighbors wifi network. Also, a friends ITouch can see my computer and it even asks for and validates the password I established, it just can't access the internet.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Get and Put options are greyed out in DW CS4

I am a fairly green Dreamweaver user, and recently (finally) upgraded from MX4 to CS4. I am trying to get a file from my local c:drive and both the get and put functions are greyed out. Any idea how to enable these functions? I do not have the file that I wish to transfer open.

When you say you are trying to get a file from your local c:drive, dio you mean that you are trying to import a file into your site from elsewhere on your computer, rather than 'getting' it from your remote server. If you are trying to import a file from your local c:drive don't use the 'get' or 'put' buttons because they are just for remote connections, instead just use windows explorer to locate the file then either copy or cut and paste the file into the folder for your site.

After 10.5.3 update, all buddies are greyed out, already deleted prefs

This is driving me nuts. I installed the 10.5.3 combo updater and iChat stopped working. Using AIM and Bonjour. All the buddies in both lists are greyed out. Cant' send or receive messages & AOL server thinks I'm offline even though it claims to log in properly.
I quit the iChatAgent and deleted all the preferences.

Rebooted the machine, and the problem wasn't resolved. I reinstalled the 10.5.3 combo updater, still no love.

Go to iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Security settings tab.
Make sure all the Buddies have not been Added to the Block list
Make sure they are in the Allow Specific People list (or reset it to Allow All).
