Some of the items in the iTunes library including... could not be copied.

When I tried to sync my iPhone to my iTunes library, it came out with this message:
Some of the items in the iTunes library including "song name", were not copied to the iPhone "iPhone name" because they could not be found.
All of these unfound songs are playable in iTunes and iPhone. There are no exclamation marks next to songs in iTunes. Please help!

Okay. Now I can see the exclamations. When I click the songs, it tells me to find them... which I don't know how.

I purchased tv shows for my son over 4th of July weekend from iTunes on my iPad...he has been watching with no problem...yesterday I backed up my iPad and the videos were taken off while I was syncing it. Error coming up states " warning some of the videos in your iTunes library including video "Dora" were not copied to the iPad "ellen's iPad " because they cannot be played on this iPad was not copied because the video format is not supported by the iPad.....makes no sense since he watched the video on Friday on my iPad...I went into the properties of the video and under the summary tab states kind of video is mpeg-4video file...went into the folder on my pc and the file is listed as a m4v file...under the tab tv shows when my iPad is connected I have it checked to sync tv shows and to automatically include "all" episodes of "all shows" ....
I am using version 4.3.4 on my iPad and iTunes version 10.4 ...I even restored back to the original settings and still did not work....called apple twice yesterday and spoke to 2 different people and no one could help me.....I am able to load a movie from my pc to my iPad with no problem and the movie is a mpeg-4video file....totally clueless...

I kept having a similar problem - 3 out of the 10 videos I had on iTunes wouldn't sync. They were in the right format and I KNEW they worked on my iPod because I'd RECORDED them on my iPod. I finally figured out what to do! Go to the movies in your iTunes library. Click on one that does not sync. Click on "Advanced" at the top of iTunes and choose "Create iPod or iPhone version". Once that's finished, be sure you delete the old version so you don't keep getting the error (or have 2 copies of the same video) and sync. This should eliminate the problem. At least it did for me!

  • Every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad and the message I get is this: some of the items in the itunes library, including were not copied to the ipad because you are not authorized for them on this computer... help?

For a couple months now, every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad giving me the error: "some of the items in the iTunes library, including were not copied to the iPad because you are not authorized for them on this computer". I have read many forums about deleting, reinstalling, de-authorizing and authorizing my iMac through the iTunes store. Many suggestions don't work except to rename the movie to *.MP4 in Finder under the iTunes movie directory. I imagine this is a setting or a bug somewhere... any suggestions on how to bypass having to rename the files in Finder? My research into Google suggests this problem dates back to 2007 or so but it is now more prevalent than ever.
    Thanks.

  • Some of the videos in your iTunes library, including the video "Video 1"...

"Some of the videos in your iTunes library, including the video "Video 1" were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod."
Never had this problem before. I just updated iTunes and there was no change. All videos are in .mov format. I've tried .mp4 as well with no change.
I've deleted them from the library and tried putting them back in several times. Anyone have any help for me?

    Hi!
I've been following the 5G iPod threads and playing around with video files for the past week while waiting for the iPod to arrive. It's now here. I somehow managed to rip a full-length DVD, demux the AC3 audio and convert it to AAC, put the movie back together, and load it into the iPod (don't ask... I don't think I could explain it...). However, the slideshow (with music) I made in iMovie (with input only from iPhoto and iTunes) which I "shared" to QuickTime (pro) using the expert settings and the default option to convert for iPod failed to load to the iPod!
Hmmm... strange that using five, third-party programs/hacks got me a full length feature film, but my Apple programs with built-in support used in the default mode for iPod failed to convert a simple three-minute iMovie slideshow. I tried two of them, neither worked...

Unless you deliberately downgraded iTunes this may be a sign of a corrupt library. See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.

  • ITunes tells me my IPhone doesn't have enough memory for all the items in my iTunes library...

However, i had about a gigabyte (or so) free before I added only ten more songs to my library. Now, though, when I try to sync, I get the following message: The iPhone “John Masella’s iPhone” cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 1.05 GB required). Initially, ITunes told me I needed about 3 gigabytes, but I deleted some pictures and apps. I don't know what to do at this point, because I really have nothing else I can delete. If anyone could provide me with some assistance, I would be very appreciative.
Essentially, I have 3.74 GB free and am only syncing ten more songs to my phone, but ITunes tells me there is not enough memory.

I had a similar problem, and other answers allude to the kind of solution that works. What was rather annoying for me was that, by deleting a few apps, the iTunes display suggested I should have plenty of room. Furthermore, the error message included the bizarre phrase "the required space is 1.26MB but only 126MB is available": yes, more space available than needed by a factor of 100!
What seems to be the case is that the sync does not necessarily remove everything you specify for removal before copying things on that you want  on the device. Therefore, even if you have enough space for what you intend to have on your device at the end of the sync, it won't help if the space is insufficient to copy at least some things on in the first place. So I actually solved the problem by deleting one of the apps on the iPhone, which was an app I was going to remove anyway. In general (on iOS 8), go to Settings | General | Usage | Storage then choose something you are happy to be without.

  • The Itunes Library File Could Not Be Saved A unknown Error Occurred -1450

I keep getting this error message since I updated to this version of Itunes. Ver. 7.0.2.16. I had absolutly no problems until this update. I have removed and reinstalled twice..and I mean removed all files ccleanered the whole PC the whole she-bang, re-ripped my music, new ITL library,XML every thing, over five thousand songs.
I noticed while importing songs I would get this 1450 error if I tryed doing to many songs at once, looked like a resources issue even though the memory and processer usage was showing plenty of headroom..?? But now its popping up while just trying to play songs in ITUNES. It says its unable to save the file etc. and causes stutterring in the song but amazingly song counts etc. show up in the times played and date played columns. The ITL file also shows as having last been changed/modified at the same time the error message says it couldn't be saved...anyone know what's going on here???
Tried running with no virus checker running, no firewall etc. Ran a tweakIU routine ...a fix suggestion that I found on a google search, reset the file permissions etc.
I also get the insufficent privilages message error when trying to set ITUNES as default audio player....(I have ADMIN priv.)
I'm apparantly not the only person experiencing this, a Google search gets a lot of hits on this 1450 error message.
    HELP PLEASE
    ASUS CUSTOM   Windows XP Pro

Well I believe I may have found the solution to the -1450 error at least for my situation.
While pouring over settings I noticed ITUNES runs in a protected memory space. Well this along with the symptoms displayed (being unable to update the library file if a large number or files are changed/edited added etc.) led me to examine my virtual memory settings under the Windows/control panel/performance/advanced/Memory usage tab and I noticed that for some reason memory usage was selected as optimized for "System cache" VS "programs". I changed this to programs and also while in the same area disabled the EP "execution prevention" feature of the INTEL processor.
I can now import change/files listen to music etc. without this -1450 error presenting itself.
I'm not sure which of the two steps solved the problem but I suspect the Memory optimization being set for "system cache" was the problem.
While I never had any problems running other apps.(I do have a lot of memory)I think ITUNES was having a problem with this setting when writing to and from temp files and the ITUNES.ITL file.
I have no idea how or when or why this setting was as it was as all my other PC's are set for program performance optimization.
Hope some one finds this helpful.

  • Error message - "The iTunes Library.itl could not be read because it was

created by a newer version of iTunes."
I was having problems with iTunes so I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it by running an iTunesSetUp.exe, which reinstalled the iTunes version 6.0.4. I now however am getting the error message mentioned above.
I tried copying my library (with songs) to my desktop and also moved the library.itl file, then tried to reopen itunes, but still get the same message.
Can anyone help me please?????. Many thanks.

Are you sure you want to use such an out of date version of iTunes?
You can install the latest version from the Apple site:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you must use the old version you will have to recreate your library.
    Close iTunes
Drag both iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music library.xml to the desktop.
Open iTunes - this should create an empty library.
You could try recreating your library by using File>>Import to import iTunes Music Library.xml although I am not certain that this will work with such an old version, you didn't say which version you were using before.
Otherwise, if that doesn't work, you can add your iTunes Music folder with File>>Add folder to Library.

  • ITunes Library File Could Not Be Found...

I think I really botched something up.
I've been trying to share the library between two accounts/users on the same iMac. Had I gone here first I'm sure I would have been okay as there is some good direction on how to do this. (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7239686&#7239686)
    Unfortunately I did not.
I first dragged the iTunes music folder from the main users music folder and put it on user1/public. I then changed the settings in preferences/advanced for both users. Both users could listen to the music however user2 could not purchase songs. Also Purchased Songs, Recently Added, etc. were not showing up under user2's iTunes.
I lived with this set up for awhile. After searching for help on this forum, I moved the iTunes Music Library from the /user1/public folder to the /users/shared folder per the above linked instructions. I can access the library on the original users computer however when I use go to select this library on the second users account (by holding down the option key when starting iTunes and selecting this folder on the /users/shared) I get the message in the subject line.
I see there are iTunes Library and iTunes Music Library.xml files in each users /music folder. Do I point to one of these? Yikes!!

Okay so I changed permissions on the folder, then I had to go change permissions on the library file itself. So I guess I solved my problem. You guys probably love watching this evolution...can I star myself?
Edit - I figured out how to change permission on a folder and it's contents. Nevermind.

Itunes gives me the following message when I hook up my Ipod.
"Some of the items in the Itunes library were not copied to teh Ipod because they could not be found"
For some reason my Ipod gave me this message. I went through and recopied my songs from the file on my computer and deleted the duplicates that had issues. Everything works fine for awhile. Then I hook it up again and get the error message again. I am not sure what to do now. Any ideas? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I got this message regarding my iTunes purchases when I got a new computer. I had to go into the Store/Authorize Computer... menu selection in iTunes and provide my iTunes Store ID and password. Don't know if this applies to you, but it fixed my problem. Even if you aren't on a new computer you might want to give it a try.
