Some Open programs not showing indicator light in dock in 10.8

After upgrade to OSX 10.8 some applications are not showing the indicator light in dock when they are open, even with the check box checked in dock preferences. Also, the only App available in command+tab is Finder. I think these are related.

I've seen this around various forums. It seems to be a bug although I haven't gone looking/asking to see if someone at Apple has noted it.
There are two fixes. Restart or open terminal and run:
killall -KILL Dock
This will restart just the dock and that should fix the dock and the cmd+tab (which is part of the same process).

Ok, so I'll try again. Thank you for the idea of looking in Home Videos, which is where all my "lost" videos are listed.
Is there a way to get them to display under their appropriate genre in the Movie section, which is where they all were listed prior to the os6 update? It does me no good to have hundreds of movies categorized in iTunes via a genre only to have them appear in Home Videos on ATV. These are not "home movies." They are legit mp4 movies that worked great under v5.

Thumbnails on some websites will not show up

I have Firefox 22 & WinXP Pro. Some websites will not show a thumbnail picture on my home page. I have read all the articles on thumbnails & none of them help. I have cleared the cache, loaded the page by left clicking the blank thumbnail & letting it load. They are NOT https sites & I do not use private browsing. The sites WILL show pictures on my homepage in Google Chrome, so it's not the website. I will try to attach a screenshot, but I do not see a browse button. Can anyone help?

Thanks for responding. I went to Tools/Page Info, but couldn't find a "general" category. The website http://www.bridgeclues.com/ does show up in Chrome & used to show up in Firefox. How can I tell if there's a no-store or no-cache header?

Lion: Finder: Column View: Date Last Opened is not show correctly

Hi Folks,
I have upgrade my macs from 10.6.8 to 10.7.
I am using the column view in the finder and I noticed that the
Date Last Opened is not show correctly in the preview column.
If I use the the list view and show the column Date Last Opened
all dates are correct. Using the column view, the Date Last Opened
allways matches the Date Last Modified.
The attached screenshot shows an example with the same
file at in both views mentiond above.
I have noticed this problem with internal and external drives
using the filesystem Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Is there way known to fix this behavior. In Snow Leopard it worked fine.

Same here, however I found a strange work around.
Go to your applications folder, for instance. Click the gear icon, go to Arrange By, then select Date Last Opened. It will correctly show the last opened time and arrange them accordingly. Switch back to arrange by name and the last opened date reverts back.
It's not a bug, it's a feature!

Program not showing in open with context for HTML files

I have a windows 8.1 64 Pro PC with a program called 1stPage.exe installed.
When I right click a .txt file I get 'Edit with 1st Page' in the context menu and it also shows in the open
with menu.
However HTML files do not show these options. I have checked the registry and it would appear that the program
is set up on the open with menu exactly the same for both file types.
So it would appear that something is blocking 1stPage from showing against HTML files but I can't figure out
what I need to change.

OK we have further developments
I tried installing this program on a Windows 7 32bit machine and I get exactly the same issue.
I tried it with both IE and chrome as default browsers and I tried changing default html editor.
I therefore suspect this when this program installs it is not setting all the registry entries windows 7/8
require.
I know it's an old program but I have been using it for years and see no reason to change.
So I need help in understanding what I need to do to get windows 7/8 to display the context menu entry correctly

When I connect iPod to computer & open iTunes, some menus do not show

I just got this new computer and loaded iTunes and downloaded all necessary updates. On my iPod, I have some TV shows and photos that I can view fine on the iPod. When I connect it to the computer and launch iTunes, the video and photo options do not show.
How do I get these to appear and I also do not want to wipe out any of the songs on my ipod? Please Please help

Some folder contents not showing in Bridge CS3

Some folders will not display in any way in Bridge. It does not seem to matter whether they are Jpeg or RAW files. Other folders on the same internal drive show fine. Tried several options with no luck.

I should have researched a bit more. Did the holding Ctrl while opening Bridge and purged everything. Took care of it.

Some Site Collection not showing up (even the system pages) after upgrade

Yes , you need to proceed to change the authentication mode . According to your error message “Non-OAuth request. IsAuthenticated=True, UserIdentityName=, ClaimsCount=0” and “UserAgent not available, file
operations may not be optimized”, all of them can be caused by the authenticate. So make sure you have upgraded cleanly and effectively to Claims Based Authentication.

Some album covers not showing up in iTunes artwork screensaver

I'm seeing a lot of similar topics so maybe there is no fix to this, but here goes anyways...
I just got my Macbook Air about a month ago so I have the newest OS and I check for updates frequently. Now all the music I have so far on my iTunes is music I ripped directly off CD's I own, not burnt copies but originals. Some of the artwork was missing and I corrected it already with the Artwork option in 'Get Info'. However when I check the iTunes screensaver there is ONE album cover that no matter what I try, it WILL NOT show up. It's starting to drive me crazy. Strangely enough it was the only CD my Superdrive had trouble reading, which I also had to google tirelessly and remedy.
Is there anything I can do to resolve this? It's just one image so it seems like it should be a quick fix, but I can't get around it. Help?

This happen sometimes (seldom) if the album art on one song in a album is corrupted.
Mark all songs from that album in iTunes at once or right click on Album in Album view
Open the info pane (Get info)
click the little Artwork window down right active and press backspace key to delete the Album Art from the songs.
Copy (drag&drop) the picture again in that little window
click OK and confirm the pop up
Then check again with the Album Art screen saver.

Which open delivery documents are not shown in VL06? Open delivery order could be those which are created but not yet PGIed or which are PGIed but not yet invoiced. Are you entering relevant values in statuses fields (Billing status, Goods movement statuses etc)?

Some Menu Options Not Showing Up.

Hello out there. I have come across a Power Mac 8600/250. After checking the machine out I installed OS 9.1 that came with the computer. After installing 9.1 and powering back up I noticed some options in the drop down menus are not showing like: print, page setup, restart and a few other items. Every thing else seems to work all right, and it powers up fine. Do I need to maybe reinstall the OS?

Open the Finder's Preferences in the Edit menu and turn off the Simple Finder option.

ISight not working, indicator light continuously on

iSight was working fine, then today I noticed the indicator light was on. I tried several programs that use iSight to see if the camera was working, but none were capturing an active image (iChat = black screen, Photo Booth = green screen). I tried restarting the computer without any luck. Is there any way to reset iSight? Or is this a hardware problem? All my software is up to date as well.

I have figured it out. I have the Imac, and it has
worked for me everytime i have tried it. If you are
in photobooth, and there is no image coming from your
camera and the light is on, cover the isight with
your thumb, and hold it there for a couple of
seconds. The screen will go a little scratchy and
then you can take you thumb away and the picture
should be there. It has worked for me three times.
Good to hear that it works for you riverboy...but...since the camera light is on and iChat states : "Your camera is in use by another application" , when I start up photobooth it says "Photobooth cannot open because no camera is attached or the camera is in use by another application." So whatever your problem was is most likely something completely different form the "camera in use" problem being discussed here. Needles to say that my iSight IS attached AND the green light is on. But NONE of the apple programs (QT player, iChat, Photobooth, Apple Quicktime Broadcaster, iMovie) recognize the fact that the camera is there. Thanks for your response.
Something set it internally to be "occupied" and NONE of the programmes or hints sofar have been able to RESET that. Again, I would hope that Apple responds to this discussion. I just had a call from a friend in the Netherlands who now has the same problem after having used his iSight for over a year without any glitches...

Why some photos do not show up in the widgets after final export?

Why do I have a problem with the FeatureD News Widget not showing all my photos? I have tried redoing it many times over in different formats and all but one photo never shows up in the final export. Please I need help to finish up the website.

If I understand this correctly, you are reporting that you have images in your Featured News' target frames and some of those photos do not show up in the published site.
If so, I would like you to confirm if the widget works fine in Preview within Muse? Are the images missing in all browsers, even after clearing the browser cache? Can you provide a link to a published site? If required I may also request your source Muse file to investigate further.

Some thumbnails do not show up in organizer

I have created a catalog with all my photos. There is a folder listing at the left of the screen. Some of the files in those folders do not appear in the thumbnails. They are all jpg files. If i try to import the files that are missing I am told they are already in the catalog. Still cant see them. I am also having trouble navigating the forums. New to this.
