Some PDFs not opened on my iOS devices

some pdf files I received not open on my iOS devic, please advice

AhmedAtif,
Do you see an error message when you try to open some PDF documents?
Adobe Reader mobile products (Adobe Reader for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) do not support DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected eBooks or static/dynamic XFA forms that are authored with Adobe LiveCycle Designer, for example.
Would you attach a screenshot in your next forum reply?

  • Some albums not organized correctly on iOS devices?

    I just activated Match yesterday.  For the most part, it works great!  I'm running into an issue where, in iTunes on multiple computers, if I go to a specific artist, all their albums are there in order.  Then, if I go to the same artist on any of my ios devices, only 2 of their albums will be there & the third one is missing.  the really strange part, is that if I do a search for that album on the ios device, it pops right up.  So, it is somewhere on there, just not being categorized with the correct artist, but only when looking for it on an ios device.  Any ideas?

    It could be a metadata mis-match. Look in settings > music and see if the option for "group by album artist" is selected. Then make sure all the albums do have the correct Album Artist specified.

  • Some PDFs not working in Preview. Mac created PDFS work but windows created PDFS dont

    Some PDFs not working in Preview. I installed adobe reader and then deleted it because the software was aweful and PDFs have been haveing issues ever since. I can open up PDFs created on my Mac in preview just fine...
    But when I try and open a PDF created on a windows computer it says:
    "Please wait...

    I am not sure why where the PDF was created would make a difference but couldnt help but notice that was the difference between the PDF files that work and the ones that give that message. I can view the PDFs on a windows computer just fine and never had issues untill adobe, it seems to have messed up PDFs on my Mac and I am so frustrated with them. I have searched my computer for any remaining adobe files, deleted them and restarted my computer but I am still getting this message.

    Uninstall Adobe Reader's plug-in.
    Remove the following two files from  /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/:

  • Why won't some pdf-files open on tablet/phone?

    I simply get the error saying: The document cannot be opened because it's not a valid pdf-document.
    However I have no problems opening the file with my laptop, only my phone and tablet (Jellybean 4.2.2) won't open it.
    My friends also have managed to open the file on their tablets (android/windows).
    Have reinstalled and checked updates and tried other programs but none has worked for me.
    I simply have no clue and would appreciate help.

    Hey,
    Seems like the problem was in the web browser I was using, as the file just
    didn't download correctly.
    Thanks for the help anyway, much appreciated.

    Hey,
    spent some time discussing this with some friends of mine and found out
    that the document can be opened by downloading it to the computer and
    transferring then to the tablet or phone. The difference is that when
    downloading with tablet/phone I get a .pdf file, which only has some html
    code. So I guess the problem has something to do with the encryption of the
    file. Here are the 2 different files I get as attachments. After all this
    might not have anything to do with adobe, but some other stuff I don't
    really understand.

  • Why will PDF not open from email?

    I recently modified my Adobe Reader 9.1 (with instructions from the bank) to be able to electronically sign documents.
    Since then I can not open any PDF documents from email.  I went back and reversed the changes I made. I uninstalled Adobe and reinstalled it. No luck.
    I have to save the documents and open them from Windows Explorer.
    Any Ideas?

    A fast workaround for PDF problem (See my original post)
    In Firefox:
    Open Tools > Options > Under Main tab click Save files to > click Browse
    Scroll up or down to find where you want it to go (I put mine under Documents because it's the easiest to find).
    Click New folder and label it something you will quickly recognize.
    Now when you click on a PDF attachment it will automatically be sent to that file and you can double click or open
    it in Adobe Reader
               ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    (Note) If I use Internet Explorer (I have not used IE in years) I can open PDF's from Hotmail with out a problem.
    I like Firefox better so I will continue to use the quick workaround until somebody finds a fix.
    If you use IE, here are the instructions for saving PDF files.
    Click
    to open Windows Mail.
    Open a message that contains an attachment by double-clicking it
    in the message list.
    In the message window, click the File menu,
    and then click Save Attachments.
    Select the folder where you want to save the attachments.
    By default,
    Windows Mail saves attachments in your
    Documents folder. If you want to save the attachments to a different folder,
    click Browse, and then select a folder.
    Select the attachments that you want to save, and then click Save.
  • Specific PDF not opening in Adobe Reader on Lumia ...
    I get an error message on a Lumia 625 when trying to open a downloaded pdf (88Mb) in Adobe Reader Vers 10.4.3.
    I have more than 3Gb free space. The file seems to be successfully downloaded & joins the list of all PDF documents in the Adobe Reader app. All other PDFs DO open OK. Just not this one.
    The message reads “The document path is not valid” & phone screen shows “Loading...” but fails to actually open anything
    What does this mean & how do I fix it? Thankyou in advance...
    Thankyou. The Central Question over this Lumia 625 inability to open a specific pdf (by Lonely Planet) remains:-I could uninstall this Adobe Reader app but think this is not the problem as this app does indeed open all other pdf's on my phone successfully, e.g. the Lonely Planet Invoice!
    On the other hand, this particular downloaded & installed pdf can be read on my home PC, my Macbook & my IpodTouch so I can't attribute fault to the filename.
    The basic Troubleshoot step of a "soft reset"  is NOT described in the Lumia 625 User Guide & I'm pessimistic this arbitrary step will bear fruit. I have come to the conclusion that no matter what I do, this Lumia model using the MIcrosoft OS has a system flaw that is unable to read the file (a file that other devices & another OS can read) & I will not waste time with ad hoc actions such as resets as this is not a hobby for me.
    The pdf in question (88Mb, Lumia free space is >3Gb)  is a travel guide I'd like to use on my next trip & this Lumia 625 is proving not worthy of coming with me. I am disappointed at the lack of "Customer Support" shown by the Nokia Company & I hope this is relayed as some "friendly feedback". Thank you for your own assistance, though.
    I invite correction if this assessment is mistaken.
  • PDFs not opening online or in email attachments
    Recently my MacBook Air (OS 10.7.5), my iPad, and my iPhone have not been consistently opening PDF files, either from the Internet  (informational downloads from a website, for instance) or email attachments, some of which have previously opened successful.  Oddly enough, my MacBook Pro (also 10.7.5) will open some of the files that the other devices don't, but not all of them.  We have tried updating the newest Adobe Reader, renaming the files, printing as a PDF…nothing has worked.  Any tips?
    Right click on the PDF in your browser and select Save Link As to download the PDF file locally. Then,
    1.       In your web browser, choose File > Open (or Open File).
    2.       (Windows only) From the Files Of Type menu, choose All Files.
    3.       Click Browse.
    4.       Select the PDF you have saved previously, and then click Open to open the PDF. If Acrobat or Adobe Reader displays the file but doesn't display it on the web, the web server has a problem serving the PDF file. Contact the webmaster of the site from which you downloaded the PDF file.
  • ITunes will not open iTouch 2G on device
    iTunes will not open on my iTouch 2G and on my Dell laptop running windows & ultimate. Help!  S.O.S.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>Store and sign out and sign back in
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If you mean that the iPod does not show in iTunes on the computer:
    See:
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with
    Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    Run this to help if it identifies the cause
    Have you tried on another computer to help determine if you have a computer or iPod problem?
  • ITunes not showing content on iOS devices
    So I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad, both running iOS 4.2.1 under iTunes version 10.1.1. For some reason, whenever I click any of the content tabs under each device (Music, Books, Videos, etc.), iTunes shows that there is nothing on the device even though I can clearly play and view the content on the device itself. I know there have been some issues with 4.2.1 and content not showing up on the device, but has there been any sort of fix on content not being viewable through iTunes? Thanks!
    Also note, this isn't just movies... it happens with music, TV shows, and books as well.  The remote devices can see and play them, but it will not show up in the local iTunes list.
    Additionally, in the "shared" libraries section for iTunes on other computers, the items also do not show up in that list.
  • PDF not opening for ESS PZ11 Pay Stubs in ECC 5.0
    We are in the process of converting from 4.6C to ECC 5.0.  We use a few of the ESS applications including heavily-customized PZ11 to let our employees view their pay stubs.  In ECC 5.0, the first time the Acrobat pay stub appears, it displays a very small, collapsed Acrobat with no trace of the pay stub showing.  If you click on the Acrobat Print icon, it will print your pay stub.  So Acrobat is not empty but it is collapsed.
    If you click on one of the lines of the table view above the acrobat portion of the window listing pay periods, then the corresponding pay stub for that period appears full-blown in Acrobat.
    When I do View Source for 4.6C and 5.0, the code is totally different, so I cannot pinpoint where the problem lies.  Has anyone run into this problem, or have you encounted this collapsed Acrobat in any SAP web application?
    Regards
    Janice Ishee
    Hi Janice,
    Check the Internet settings for Adobe in Preferences also some versions of Adobe are known to cause problems like not opening the PDFs etc.
  • Pdf not opening with Safari
    Safari will not open pdf files.  I have 8.1.3 and this is still an issue on my phone and tablet.  It will not allow to open Safari files in iBooks either.  This is a problem on my phone, tablet, and friends and families tablets, so I know this must be a common problem.  Is there a solution?
    I have no problem opening PDFs in Safari or iBooks on my iPad 2 iOS 8.1.3.  What exactly happens when you load a PDF page in Safari?  Perhaps you could post a link to the page you're trying to open?
  • ICloud mail not being pushed to iOS devices
    Hello there,
    I've been having an issue with receiving new iCloud mail messages on my iPhone and iPad. They are not being automatically pushed to my iOS devices. They arrive normally to my MacBook and iCloud.com.
    I've tried the steps on the offical support page and it recommends deleting the iCloud account and then readding it.
    My question is:
    If I do this, will all my photos automatically redownload to the 'My Photo Stream' album in Photos?
    Thanks.
    No, only photos from the last 30 days will be redownloaded; older photos are no longer in iCloud and will be lost.  If you want to save your photo stream photos save them to your camera roll first (open your my photo stream album, tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon -- box with upward pointing arrow, then tap Save to Camera Roll).
