Some purchased songs not transferring.

I have two songs that I have purchased that will not transfer to my library. I have since purchased one more and it transferred just fine. I have tried deauthorizing and then authorizing and that has not worked either. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. I have a lot of songs I've downloaded straight to iPhone over the last few months. After updating the firmware to 2.2 last weekend I've been unable to transfer the songs to iTunes on my PC.
Like others, the songs show on iTunes only under the actual iPhone/Music list. They play fine from there and from the iPhone itself - ie, they're on the iPhone. But when I try to 'Transfer Purchases from iPhone' I get a -1303 error telling me the attempt failed (usually without transferring any songs, but rarely transferring one).
When I try to see the songs on the iPhone using third-party software like Winamp or sharepod I can only see those already transferred - which appear under a 'Purchased' playlist.
I initially restored the iPhone to a recent backup. Then I uninstalled/resinstalled iTunes. I was going to try another restore but got a warning stating that I had files which hadn't yet been transferred and proceeding would wipe them out and I'd be forced to repurchase them.
Has anyone got a solution or at least an explanation for this?
Corey: Could you verify for me if the solution you got from support has meant your iPhone can now transfer songs downloaded to it as it's supposed to? It sounded like they just gave you credit to repurchase your songs through iTunes, waited for you to wipe the copies on the iPhone off and that was it. I don't really want to be forced to use iTunes on my PC exclusively to download - it defeats the purpose of having iTunes on the phone.

  • Same Apple ID, but some purchased songs not shown in history.

I've had the same Apple ID since I bought my first song on iTunes in the early 2000s.  However, I've changed the email address associated with it several times.  My iTunes library contains songs that show one of my past emails, but I only have to authroize the computer with my -one- Apple ID (as expected, since the underlying ID has never changed).  This is the same when authroizing songs to play on my iPhone.  It may ask for one of my old addresses, but I'll just correct the address to the current one and it works perfectly.
I thought about redownloading songs so that they have the current email address associated with them.  However, after a cursory review of my past purchase history I'm finding many songs that I currently own that do not show up.  What is interesting is that the purchase history includes many songs, movies, and tv shows that I know I purchased when I used one of the many different email addresses (again, the same Apple ID).
Why would some (maybe TONS, I haven't looked thoroughly) of my songs be missing from the purchase history in order to redownload them?

You haven't changed countries since buying them (content is tied to the country as well as the account), they are still in your country's store (content providers occasionally remove their items ; if they are no longer in your store then they won't be redownloadable), and they aren't hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919 ?
But if it's the same account then it should automatically pick up the current version of the account in your library, so a previous email address shouldn't show on them. You've tried logging out of your account via the Store > Sign Out menu option and then signed back in to see that gets them all to show the correct id on them ?

  • Purchased songs not transferring in autosync

Songs that I've purchased on iTunes and are listed in "purchased" and my "library" will not transfer to my nano during autosync. Don't know if this is a software or hardware issue but I have been successfully purchasing and transferring songs from iTunes to my new nano via an autosync for a while(plug in nano to computer while logged into iTunes and automatically transferring all music in the library.) Any suggestions on how to get the missing songs transferred to my nano?
    THANKS!

first do a reset on your nano -
hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo
then try loading the music again
if that doesnt work, try these:

  • Some purchased songs not playing after moving to new computer

I migrated my music library to a new computer by moving the entire iTunes folder from the old computer to an external hard drive then to the new computer. When I synced my iPhone using the new computer, everything synced fine the first time except for an error saying three songs could not be converted properly. When I try to play the songs in iTunes, it tells me they are not authorized to play on the new computer then asks me to login to authorize (even though I already had logged in beforehand). Even after logging in again they won't play. The tracks won't play on the iPhone either.
The three tracks are part of a full album which I purchased via the music store on my iPhone. They synced to my old computer with no problem. They show up in my purchases section in iTunes. And the other 8 tracks from the same album work just fine. And I just double checked, and the tracks no longer play on the old machine either. The only weird thing was that when I synced it appeared as though iTunes downloaded the songs again even though they were already in the existing library. Any idea what's going on here and how to fix it?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library (but do not hide from iCloud), close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not in My Library. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading click the small download activity widget near the search box and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked. This may improve the reliability of subsequent downloads.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

Im trying to get some purchased songs to sync onto my ipad, but when i try it says they could not be synced as i need to authorise my computer which has been done already but its still not syncing them can someone help please?

    Hello there, Gemss.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for the issue you're describing:
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
Although all of the scenarios may be applicable, many folks find that the following section helps resolve their issue most often:
Authorize using the correct account name
The items you're trying to play might have been purchased using a different iTunes Store account. To determine which account was used to purchase an item, follow these steps:
Select a purchased song in your library and choose File > Get Info.
Click the Summary tab. Note the Account Name that appears in the list. This is the account name (Apple ID) you'll need to use when authorizing your computer to play this purchase.
Note: The account name that appears is the one you used when purchasing the item and does not change if the account name (Apple ID) changes.
If you've authorized the Apple ID that is shown in the Summary tab, you can check the purchase history for that Apple ID from Store > View My Account. If your purchase history does not reflect the purchase of the items in your iTunes library, consider any other Apple ID you may have created, and authorize the computer for your additional Apple ID.
If you forgot the password to one of your accounts, you can recover it using Apple's password-recovery website.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

Thank you, thank you! It was pretty easy, once you explained it to me.
Now, do you have any idea why my iPhone looks like it's connected to my Airport Extreme, but will not open pages? My iMac, desktop and my iPad connect, no problem, but my phone won't. Verizon even replaced my phone, but it still won't connect. ?????

  • Songs not transferring - stops in the middle

I recently restored my iPod to the factory settings after having problems with the 1-10-2006 update. After putting the 6-26-2005 updater back on, I began filling my iPod back up.
I have 8564 songs in iTunes, but the iPod only had room for 8345 of them and created a separate playlist for these 8345 songs. After it had transferred about 7500 of them, it suddenly stopped (the top of iTunes went to the apple instead of showing the progress bar and how many files had transferred). The iPod continued showing the "Do not disconnect" sign. After waiting ten minutes, I shut down the computer so the "Do no disconnect" sign went away and I could unplug the iPod. I went to look at the 7500 transferred files, and only ONE album actually made it onto it.
So, what's going on? What did I do wrong? Why is my iPod still kicking my butt after I wiped the 1-10-2006 updater off of it? I'm going on vacation tomorrow and would be devastated if I didn't have my iPod with me.

I've had this problem with a purchased song but never a ripped song. I think its an encoding problem with iTunes. One poster suggested converting the song, which kind of tells us that its something to do with the encoding. I can't remember the song that this happened with, some Tom Petty tune. But I do remember this, which is strange, this happened on my Touch but not the iPhone with same song.

  • Purchased Songs not Playing

Hey, I just recently got my first two songs from the music store. I have had some other songs from CDs, but wanted to start downloading. I downloaded "White and Nerdy" and "Amish Paradise" by Weird Al.
The problem is, I go to play them and for a brief second it will show the song information (title, album art, etc...) and then go to the next song. I don't have this problem with any other songs, just the two I have bought. I use a Windows XP with iTunes version 6. My iPod version is the 1st generation nano.
If you can help me out I'd greatly appreciatte it
      Windows XP

I am also having this problem. When I try to play the CD I purchase from itunes my Ipod just keeps scrolling through the titles of the songs on the CD. Ideas please? Is my ipod considered one of the authorized computers for playing songs? I have only authorized 2 computers so far but not my ipod.
    Thanks

  • Purchased Music NOT transferring from ITunes to IPod

AArgh. I have an older version of IPod (non-clickwheel) with the latest vesion of IPod Software (2.2) installed AND ITunes 6.0 AND I've repaired permissions, restarted, all the common troubleshooting actions taken place.
My Purchased from ITunes music is not transferring at all to my Ipod. At one point even though I had the latest software I would get a message saying my Ipod Software was out of date , but that's not true.
    ????

I am having the same problem, but I just got a new 4th generation 20GB because my old one died. So I tried transferring my library onto the new iPod and it won't transfer any of the songs that I bought on iTunes. The error message says that my software is too old, but I just updated it numerous times. What is going on!?!?

  • Purchased songs not appearing in itunes library

Many of my past purchased songs were not appearing in my itunes library.     After trying many different methods (over 2 hours of investigation) I finally discovered that I need to check the box in the PREFERENCES that says   "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases".
    iTunes 11.0
EDIT -->  PREFERENCES -->  STORE --> "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases".
    Then... all my songs appeared!
It's not clear to me when a purchase is "in the cloud" and when it's not ?   I'm not sure how that works... but this solved my problem.   Maybe it will solve it for you too!

Perhaps the files have been added to your library, but iTunes wasn't displaying them in the Music list for some strange reason. Apparently the most effective voodoo is to obtain the current "Free Single of the Week". It may be that any new purchase causes ITunes to reindex itself properly but this one seems to work, and is free.
Alternatively you could try closing iTunes, deleting the hidden file sentinel from within the main iTunes folder, and restarting. This should cause iTunes to run an integrity check on the database which will likely resolve any issues.
Turning on that option would let an empty library show links to your previous purchases for streaming or download purposes. It may also have triggered a reindexing of the library to compare local content with iTunes in the Cloud.

  • HT203167 Purchased songs not showing up

I have purchased a few albums and some individual songs on my iOS device.  I am using iTunes Match and they show up on my devices, but they are nowhere to be found on my computer which bases my library.  A couple of the digital booklets show up in my purchased playlist on my computer, but the songs are not in the playlist.  I have checked for available downloads and the songs do not appear here either.  What do I do?

Do you have sync all songs and playlists selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences?
If so and you had duplicates in your iTunes library that were deleted, not sure how the number of songs in your iTunes library now matches the number of songs on your iPhone.
Were duplicates a combination of songs that were purchased from the iTunes Store and that were imported into your iTunes library from another source such as from a music CD?
If so, did you delete the duplicates that were imported into your iTunes library from another source, or did you delete duplicates that were purchased from the iTunes Store that were previously transferred to your iPhone?
For this prompt to be provided, it seems you deleted duplicates that were purchased from the iTunes Store. You can transfer iTunes content from an iPod or iPhone that was purchased from the iTunes Store only.
I don't believe this is a problem that warrants returning your iPhone to AT&T, which doesn't handle any iPhone repairs or exchanges under Apple's warranty.
