Some QT movies load into browser, others not-

H.264 movies from one particular site won't load on a computer using the main admin account, but they load when I create a new account. It's only from a single site. Where should I look for a way to fix the issue? If I have to rebuild a new account, I will, but it would take a while, and it's not my computer. Is there any way I can fix the existing account?

UPDATE:
I manually cleared the Quicktime cache files in the User/Library/Caches/Quicktime/downloads folder. There must have been a corrupt cache file in there. The movies now load in Safari, but still didn't play in Firefox. I have to wait 'til 2pm EDT to dump the Firefox profiles cache folder. Maybe that'll take care of it.

From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Some songs correctly loaded into iTunes but won't transfer to iPod

Can't figure this one out. I have 40-odd songs in my 2000 iTunes songs that won't transfer to iPod. Error message says the format is not recognized by my iPod, even though the songs appear and play normally in iTunes. Songs are about 7 years old. The file extension on them says ".mp3". However, I notice when I select a problem song and click "info", the information tells me the songs is a MPEG audio file; 6.8 mb size; sample rate 44.1 khz; format MPEG-1, Layer 2; ID3 Tag V1.0; Encoded with "Unknown". How do I properly load or convert these so they will play on my iPod? Do I need to convert them to AAC format, and if I do, what am I giving up? I have about 500 of these old songs in my library, which I haven't yet loaded into my iTunes. Thanks in advance for any help or expertise!

PDF loaded into iBooks will not sync back to iTunes

I accessed a PDF on the web from Safari on my iPhone 4s, then opened it in iBooks. Then I connected the iPhone to my iMac and synced with iTunes. I was expecting the new PDF to sync back to my iTunes, but that did not happen.
Am I to assume that PDF files loaded into iBooks on my iPhone or iPad will NOT sync back to iTunes?

It was VERY difficut, but I finally did it!
First I was annoyed because I couldn't get the PDFs to show in my iTunes Library. As near as I can tell, performing a backup of my iPad did that. In the past 'Transfer Purchases' did the job.
What nearly drove me bonkers was getting the content of my iBooks Library to sync to the device. There was just no way to do it. Not my PDFs and not even the purchased books! I tried to get the Library on the left and my iPad on the right so I could drag and drop. NOPE.
I played around a while and finally got both to show on the screen so I could drag and drop. STUPID
What I think worked for me: I started in Music Library and clicked on the +Add to icon on the top right. This pulled up my iPad for drag and drop. Then I switched the button on the top left from 'music' to 'books'. Finally I could remove or add my content to iBooks.
It worked perfectly before, why did they change it!
The music App makes me drag and drop, which I never had to do before. All I had to do was check or uncheck songs in a playlist and sync the playlist.
Apps works fine, no complaints.
Podcasts, another fine mess...
I noticed Video was fixed when I went back in.
Oh, the kicker, my iTunes is not responding today.

HBO gives me a message saying I can not watch a movie because my browser does not support it and I need safari 3 or higher. i have an Ipad 3 with the last Ios 6.1 software, I think I should have the last Safari version, then

You can't watch HBO using the Safari browser on the iPad at all. HBO has an app in the App Store called HBO GO. You must subscribe to HBO in order to use it

Site loaded into MC is not clickable

I have a preloader (preloader.swf) that loads the rest of the
site (site.swf) into a Movie Clip. Everything seems to work fine,
but when I try to click on the buttons in "site.swf" (which are
nested in Movie Clips), nothing happens. When I roll over them,
they animate, but nothing happens when I click.
If I open site.swf on its own, everything works fine.
Anything you can help me with? Is there something I'm
missing?

I do not have anything referring to _root, but I do have some
nested buttons that refer to _level0, which is where the main
content is loaded. Where would I put the _lockroot?

Download pdf into browser, object not stored in wwv_flow_files

Was wondering if you’re able to help? I want to view a pdf I’ve stored in a blob column via APEX.
I can view pdf’s I’ve uploaded and stored via apex i.e. stored in wwv_flow_files, but not objects stored in other tables.
To help see what I’m doing I will detail the way I can get working (Via Apex)
Scenario via apex:

Issue
Issue I want to store the images in the user’s schema and load the images in bulk, I have over 100,000 pdfs to load and do not want to do this one at a time.
I can load the images into Oracle OK using below:
The issue with this is that the blob is stored in the wwv_flow_files table and you have to laod one image at a time. I’m looking at loading on 100k of images so this is not practical.

Why Won't This Digital Camera Movie Load Into iPhoto

I shot 186 photos and 12 movies with my Canon digital camera this past week while my wife and I were on vacation. The photos and 11 movies (all about one minute or less) loaded just fine but my longest one (3 minutes which is the maximum for my digital camera) will not load. Is there a maximum time limit for digital camera movies that I have exceeded with iPhoto?

when you say "will not load" do you meant it won't open in Quicktime or it didn't download into iPhoto?
This is what I do;
When iPhoto 5 first came out I really think it was programmed to import the smaller 30 sec video clips that cameras were taking at the time. Since then, digital cameras, at least my Canon S2 can take clips as large as your memory card can hold. The first time I tried to download my images and movie clips with my new camera, iPhoto stalled at the movie clips. I wasn't going to take any chances messing up my iPhoto Library so I started using Image Capture to download all my images and Movie clips. I actually like doing it this way a lot better. My movie clips are downloaded into my Movies folder where I then put them in a dated folder.
My photos are downloaded into my Pictures folder, where I then put them in a dated folder. I import the dated folder into iPhoto. I also keep all dated folders from photo downloads in the Pictures folder till I get enough Movie folders and Photo folders to fill a DVD. I burn them and then delete them from the hard drive.
This way I have the photos in iPhoto and I also have just the photos backed up to DVD.
The Movies I keep on the hard drive in their dated folders until I use all the clips for my iMovie projects for the Year. I then make sure they are all burned to DVD, then I delete those from my hard drive.
Using Image Capture to download images and video clips:
Open up Image Capture which is found in the Applications folder.
When it is opened, go to Image Capture/Preferences
Under the General button choose
Camera: When a camera is connected, open Image Capture.
The next time you connect your camera Image Capture will open.
In the window that opens you will see an Options button. Click on that button to set your options.
To find out more about Image Capture (it can do a lot more) Click on Help in the menu bar when Image Capture is open.
iPhoto: How to Change the "Open Automatically" Preference
If you find you can't change any of Image Captures preferences or can't access any drop down menus or they are greyed out, check to make sure Image Capture is loose in the Applications folder and not within a sub folder.

Copied words into browser do not clear after closing session

When I go to a site that needs a password, I copy it from Last Pass into my browser. Then I enter my username and paste the password. Then when done, I sign off and close the page. I can go to another page that may want information. I fill it out and the previous password is still there and the only way I can get rid of it is to copy something new into the browser. Then, I have that new word stuck in my browsers. Whatever word is in there will only go away wen the computer is restarted. This can be just a password or any words that were copied and then pasted.
It used to be when I left a site that required a password, for example, when the page was closed, the word was gone instantly. I remember going back to a site that I need to do additional work on and when I clicked on the paste, it was greyed out or it would come up blank. That has how it has always worked until the last update. Have checked all security, cookie, privacy settings and it is all the same. Have tied every combination of settings and nothing will let the word or words clear out after I close Firefox. All browsing history ans history is cleared each time, but I have no control over the info copied into the browser, except to copy in something like 10 Xs, but then that stays. Have worked on this for a week and it really has me bugged. Last Pass told me it is a Firefox problem?

My Last Pass usually fills in everything just fine and there is no need to copy anything, it automatically autofills. On one credit card site, It will not let me use autofill, so I enter my username, look up my 75 digit password and copy it and then paste it to the site. It used to be that when I left that site and had to comeback to it for some reason, the pasted password was gone. I just thought this was a security feature. If you are saying that the actions I have described or completely normal and safe, I will just quit worrying about it. Thanks.

How can I get the iPhone icon to show on the iTunes screen. I want to check some music for loading into the phone, can't locate the phone icon.

I always have trouble moving music from my MacPro to my phone. The phone icon doesn't show on the iTunes screen where it's supposed to. I may be missing some setup step that makes the phone show there. Any clues?

Plug the cable into the iPhone and into a USB port directly on your computer, not a USB hub. Also make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.

Unusual network issues.. some programs work fine... others not.

I'm staying at a small hotel and was pleased to discover they had wireless Internet access so I won't have to go to the local Internet cafe to do my work. Or so I thought. I connected easily to their network and immediately went to Speedtest.net to test out the connection. 150ms ping time, 263kbps down, 213kbps up. Believe me, that's the best you're gonna get here in Tobago. Fast enough for me to do my work (which requires multiple Remote Desktop Connection sessions). Here's were it gets weird. First thing I noticed is that Adium quickly connects to MSN and AIM but cannot connect to Yahoo. Countless reboots and reopening of Adium do nothing. I find Mail sluggish at times. Frequently my mailboxes show the connection error symbol however hitting the "Get Mail" button will rectify this. Browsing works fine. Relatively speedy and no issues with any specific kinds of content. Skype seems to be working fine. Remote Desktop Connection can't connect to anything.
I'm more an Applications Programmer type so I'm not too knowledgeable about the intricacies of network protocols. Anyone have any insight what would cause behavior like this? I seriously doubt they are blocking certain protocols. They seem the types that have just enough knowledge to plug in their wireless router and give it password.
Well.. I'm off to the Internet cafe. If you have any suggestions... feel free to pass them along. I'd rather do my work from the hotel.

Only thing I can think of tht you might have control over, might be to change the MTU, some Routers don't work right with the default 1500.
You can test it with a temporary change by using Terminal, with...

Movie loads on Firefox but not IE (surprise?), but also not in Safari??

I am a novice, but it's hard to do anything wrong using iWeb. I tried sharing a movie made in iMovie to iWeb on my .mac account. The movie only plays on a Mac (or PC) using Firefox. Both IE (what a surprise! joke...) and Safari will not load the movie. It's 8.2 MB, orig size about 3.2 GB. It's understandable that the movie might not load on IE, but Safari - same Mac used to create the site. Note: it does load in Safari, if I am simultaneously running Firefox and have the page with the movie open and loaded, otherwise it just hangs and shows the big Q for Quicktime, but no movie... Any ideas. PS. When I send the updated site to a folder on my Mac, it works fine, but when I post it to .mac, no go.

Can some playlists shuffle by default and others not?

I have some playlists that I ALWAYS want to shuffle, like my “everything except jazz and classical” or maybe my “rock only” playlists. And now that I think about it I pretty much want almost all my playlists to shuffle. BUT, I nearly always want albums to play in order.
So here’s my problem:
I set my 80gig iPod to “shuffle/songs” and listen to my “everything except jazz and classical” playlist and everything is fine. Then, I hear a song that makes me want to hear the whole album (in order) so I need to go to settings and select “shuffle/off.” Then when I get done with that album or I’m ready to move on and I want to shuffle one of my playlists I need to go back to settings and change shuffle again to songs.
Possible Solution:
Since I nearly ALWAYS want certain playlists to play random (shuffle) and albums to always play in order isn’t there away (and there should be) to make certain playlist default to shuffle? I would think you should be able to right-click on a playlist and select “default shuffle for iPod” or something like that.
Anyone have a solution, because I’m really getting sick of turning shuffle on and off for the same thing over and over?

Power adaptors - some require connections to grounded outlets others not. Why difference in advice ?

For my elitebook 2570 P laptop:
Some 65 Watt HP adaptors require grounded outlets (e.g. series PPP009H part no. 519329-002) and 80 watt travel adaptor HSTNN-DA22, part no. 601-485 001, but others do not require grounded outlet: series PPP009L, part no. 384019-001.
Why does HP give different advice on the correct uses of these adaptors ? What should be the advice ?

Can't access music in nano- loaded into 'other'

Hi, I got a 5th gen nano, when I plugged it in it said it was synching and all my songs show up under the nano tab in itunes but no songs showed on the nano. The songs were all in grey so I changed it to the manual load songs setting as suggested in other posts however this didn't help.
I have also noticed though that when looking at the folder sizes on my ipod the 4 gigs has been loaded into my 'other' folder, not into the songs folder, which I can't access.

If you click on the iPod's Device name in the left hand pane of iTunes, it should bring you to a new screen that shows a picture of your iPod.

As you can see, the iPod's name is highlighted in the left hand pane under Devices of this picture. By clicking on its device name, you should receive a screen very similar to this.
