Some radio stations don't come through

For the longest time I was able to listen to DW (Deutsche Welle) through my I-Tunes. Then a while back whenever I double click it to listen it says GETTING PLAYLIST.........but then there is nothing, no sound, nothing! What would have changed? And should I be checking for something that needs changing in order to get this?

Deutshe Welle have a lot of different streams in different formats, so I don't know which one is causing troubles for you. Poking around their web site, the "Listen live" stream works fine in their own pop-up player (which then labels the stream as "DW-RADIO live"), but the only available stream available to external players compatible with iTunes is a 64 kbps MP3 stream, which does not work properly in my browser with the configured QuickTime plug-in. However, if you open iTunes, and then click Advanced > Open Audio Stream and paste the following URL in the window, the stream should play.

Updates template don't come through on the site

What I have been trying to do is update a template and apply it to all files that are based on this template. The problem I have been encountering is not inside dreamweaver itself: the template is updated automatically in every file I want it to. The problem is that these changes don't come through on the site for some of the files.
Any tips on what I might be doing wrong? I have investigated this forum and checked the frequent mistakes that are made with using templates, but I can't seem to figure out what is wrong, because the files in dreamweaver display correctly...

because the Root Folder of the Remote's definition (in the files menu on the right, remote view) is only a / and doesn't correspond with the name of the local root folder in the files menu on the right.
It should not correspond with the local root folder name.
Is it the slash that is causing the problem?
Most likely it is the lack of the name of the actual root folder for the web hosting account that is causing the problem. With only a slash there, you are uploading the files to the root of the FTP LOGIN which is usually the parent folder to the root of the website. Thus, your files are there, but they are ABOVE the website's root and cannot be seen when you browse to the web domain.
Ask your host what is the name of the root folder for the website - it should be something like "htdocs" or "httpdocs" or "public_html" or "wwwroot" or "www" or something like that, depending on whether your host is a *nix or Windows server. That information was given to you when you first secured the web hosting account. Put that name into the Root Directory field of the remote site definition. Then it should work.

[Bug] Some email replies don't go through

I've noticed that some of my replies by email don't come through... For example, I've sent a reply to this thread (I have a question about extracting pages. When I do the function, adobe saves the individual files as "<file name><space><page number>", so the files look like this "filename 1.pdf", "filename 2.pdf", "filename 3.pdf". Without too many gory details, I a) and it never arrived, so I posted it via the thread itself. I have a suspicion it might have to do with the use of special symbols in the title (quotes, smaller-than, greater-than, etc.), but this is just a guess. Anyone else experiencing this behaivour?

I have FCE 4.0.1 and running OS x 10.7.5 when i burn my movie the audio from my movie clips don't come through . My Sound effects and music can be heard. I export to Quicktime movie, make it self contained then open IDVD for an intro and burn it.

ITune radio stations don't play

On my Mac many of the listed radio stations don't have a program playing. Is there a reason why?

I added a dozen radio stations to a playlist last week. They worked fine for a few days. I tried today and they won't play. Stations in Radio Library play fine, and if I add the same station to my playlist, that one will play fine.
Also annoying: I cannot display the stream name in my playlist, and the name changes when I add it from the Radio Library, so it's difficult to find the same station again to re-add.

Some ITunes Radio Stations Don't Broadcast

Hi,
Does anyone know why there are some ITunes Radion Stations, that even though their status is active, don't play when you double click on them. There are others that work fine, but some of them (even though it's showing the speaker icon over in the left-most column) aren't streaming...Is it the station itself having problems?

Can you post the names of one or two of the stations you can't play? If you post the name of one that you can't listen to, I can try it on my computer and see if it works for me.
But, FYI, sometimes I run across a radio station that won't play. I just figure it's their problem, or some kind of strange Internet wierdness of the moment.

Most radio stations don't work

About 95% of the radio stations I've tried on iTunes do not play. Progress bar shows Getting Playlist, and sometimes gets stuck there. Or it will show Connecting, but it never connects.
I'm on a Mac Pro with 2GB of ram, so I don't think memory is a problem. What gives? Any help would be appreciatd.

Hmm, I just tried 10 or so stations, and all played except for two called 8BallRadio and EnergyX in Alt/Rock. They flashed up a screen that said "Opening URL" or "Getting Playlist" but just sat there.
Then I got a message, "the streaming server cannot open any more connections at this time" when I tried to open Pirate Cat radio.
Sorry, I don't know why some of them won't work. I did Edit > View Options and told iTunes to show the status. They all say active, but they're not all playing.

Lost some radio stations

I just downloaded the new version of itunes. Now when I go to radio and look for talk/spoken word the only radio station I listen to is no longer there. But on my other laptop which I did not upgrade it is still there... how do I get my favorite station back???? Please help me

Since the "UPGRADE" I am unable to play my radio station that I have listened to before without problems. Now what? I am beginning to regret this iTunes 7 "UPGRADE." I am a member of the station and have always listened to it at

However since "iTunes 7" all I get is the station's intro. followed by NOTHING or going through the iTunes Library, following the xpn.org intro. the next song in my Library is played; the same happens when I attempt to access with Safari. Please tell me how to correct this?

Have Windows Media Player 11, but the Firefox browser does not allow the radio station to come on. Previously had Internet Explorer as browser which allowed the radio station to come on. What is stopping the station to play now since I changed browsers?

IMessages don't come through on Wifi

I have one friend on the same carrier as me (cspire), with same phone as me (iPhone 5) and when he sends out a picture or group message it wont come through unless I have mobile data turned on. Wifi is on and connected all the time. I have sent and received iMessages to and from others on wifi. At times I'll turn on mobile data when I'm away from wifi and a flood of messages from this one friend will come through.
Any ideas? Something set wrong on his phone?

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages. Make sure iMessage is turned on and you can see options for Read Receipts, Send as SMS and Receive at. If you don't see these options, turn off iMessages and then back on, the options should appear (apparently there's a bug that prevents the extra iMessage options from appearing when you first open the settings).
Tap on the option for Receive at and enter the email associated with your Mac iMessaging. Once entered, you should receive imessages on both your phone and your Mac. You may need to send/receive a couple of messages to get it to work.

My messages sometimes don't come through until I receive a phone call. Anyone else having these problems?

I wondered if anyone else is having this problem. For the past few days, my Iphone 4 has not been receiving messages until I make a phone call or a phone call comes through.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you ressolve it.
It's never done it before and it's making me seem ignorant.

IF you have restored your iPhone and still have these problems, you have a defective iPhone and there is nothing anyone here can help you with -- you have to contact Apple for service.

Radio stations don't work

I can't load any radio stations on iTunes Radio. I always get the reply "Temporarily unavailable. Try again later" or the link immediately disappears. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try a Restart. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.

Trade Monster, Fidelity and some radio stations stopped working in Fire Fox (work in IE)

These open separate windows, on does not start to load and the other will not allow a log in. Radio station never finishes loading.
All ad on and plug in are up to date. Just started doing this the last few weeks. All work in IE8

To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".

#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

Curly quotes that don't come through from Word

Every now and then I get a Word file with a few quotes that come through
to CS3 as accented characters instead of quotes. Anyone know why this
happens?

Yes, I have both Times and Times New Roman installed here, so there's no
substitution in Word or Indesign. And I did try it in CS4, where the
problem seems to be gone.
I guess it's kind of late in the game to be finding bugs in CS3; I just
wish I could explain why it's happening. Then maybe I would know what to
look for so I could find these before they make their way into the book.
I can search for those four characters, but, for instance, there were 64
other, legitimate, i accents acute in this book. And this is not limited
to quotes. I occasionally run into the same kind of unexplained
substitution with dashes and a few other characters.
Or I could just start using CS4.

Suddenly my Radio stations don't play.

I have 3 radio stations that I enjoy playing using iTunes on my Mac. Suddenly they no longer work. I have 6 others. Same deal. These stations are in a special folder under "Playlists".
Did something change? How can I get them back?
