Some recurring appts created by iPhone cannot be erased in Outlook 2007

Background: iPhone 8gb setup on Mac G5 with iTunes. iPhone was then synced to my PC running Vista and Office 2007. Everything went great, but I foolishly merged all my Calendar reminders from my Mac G5 to Outlook 2007. The problem is that both the "Daylight Savings Time" and "Memorial Day" reminders were merged into Outlook, and now they cannot be snoozed, edited, cancelled, dismissed or deleted. The darn reminders pop up every 5 minutes (unless I leave the reminder window on the screen). Attempting any action with these 2 reminders cause the following error message to appear: "Cannot turn off reminder. You may be reminded again. Cannot locate recurrence information for this appointment." Why does iTunes create appts in Outlook that cannot be erased? How do I get rid of these appts? Can Steve Jobs come to my house and fix this?
Dell XPS 600 w/ P4 3.46ghz & 500gb mirrored hd's   Windows Vista   also have 5 mac's in da house!

Awesome! Thank you so much moelpd8!! I've been trying to figure this out for hours! I should have come to the forums first...
Good luck to the rest of you!

  • Appt created on iPhone not updating back to Outlook but is on MobileMe

When creating an appointment on the iPhone 3G, I see it gets pushed up to MobileMe, but doesn't come back to my Outlook 2007 (Vista) calendar. MobileMe is set to sync automatically on the PC and I've invoked it via "Sync Now" in the MobileMe Preferences app.
    Known issue right now?

More info -- the appointment does appear on Outlook 2007 briefly, but then disappears the next time it syncs up.

  • HT1296 I have a problem synching calendar data between my iPhone 3GS iOS 5.1 & Outlook 2007 on MS7.  The basic calendar is OK but the birthdays (little box icon) are a day early & cannot be changed to the correct date. How can I fix this?

I have a problem synching calendar data between my iPhone 3GS iOS 5.1 & Outlook 2007 on MS7.  The basic calendar data transfer is OK but the birthdays (little box icon) are a day early & cannot be changed to the correct date. The birthday entries in my Outlook contacts have correct dates. How can I fix this?

The following peocess corrects the calendar entry:
edit the contact & change the birthday, save the change; edit the contact & change the birthday to the correct value, save the change again. The calendar entry then displays on the correct date.  Alternatively as a temp solution I can just de-select the "birthdays" calendar which stops the icon being displayed.
Thanks for your advice, I think that it's n going to be a slow process to fix all the entries for not much return.

  • Contacts created in iphone do not synchro to outlook

    Hi everyone,
First of all, sorry if this topic is repeated. I have been searching just in case but I did not find it.
The problem I have is as follows: the contacts created directly on the iphone are not syncrhonizing with Outlook 2007. So, if I create a new one with the iphone this is not copy to Outlook. If it helps, the iphone contacts groups I have are: "All", and below "From my Pc" is "All of my Pc".
I have an iphone 3GS and, as I said, using Outlook 2007 to manage contacts.
Thanks in advance (and sorry if my English is not 100% accurate...)
    Best regards,

I'm sorry, I missed your earlier reply. You do have the option to reset the sync history in iTunes, by going into Edit>Preferences>Devices, and then reset sync history. Have you done a reset on the iPhone? It is unusual that you have syncing going on with the iPhone in one way and not the other, usually it is the other way around.
See if a reset of the phone helps. To reset, hold the power and home buttons down together until you see the Apple logo and then release, ignoring the slide to power off screen. This does a reset of the phone OS but does not hurt any of the data. Then try adding a contact and see if it will sync.

  • Yearly recurring meeting created on iPhone breakes iCal sync with exchange

I encounter a reproducable bug with Snow Leopard 10.6.1's iCal stopping sync with Exchange 2007 SP1 (Update Rollup 7), as soon a i create a yearly recurring meeting on iPhone 3GS connected to same Exchange Server via Active Sync.
After creating this meeting, syncing in iCal is broken, reporting following error:
    iCal[31968]: GetCalendarItem operation failed
iCal[31968]: error = Error Domain=CalExchangeErrorDomain Code=-11 UserInfo=0x117a06cc0 "iCal kann keine Ereignisse im Kalender „Kalender“ aktualisieren."
    iCal[31968]: Queue operation failed
iCal will never get synced anymore, until this one meeting is deleted via iPhone, OWA or Outlook. Please note: E-Mail and contacts still sync without problems.
Can anyone having a similiar setup confirm this to be problem!?
Where can i "report" this officially to apple?
    Used versions:
    Mac OSX 10.6.1
    iCal 4.0 (1362)
    iPhone 3GS 3.1.2
    Exchange 2007 SP1 Update Rollup 7
So everything up to date, except for exchange 2007 missing some fixes...
To better reproduce this, here's the procedure:
On iPhone create a new meeting, make it "whole day", set recurring to "weekly" and voila, next time you sync iCal it stops with exclamation mark!
After testing, delete the meeting, but make sure to delete ALL instances, otherwise syncing won't work anymore:-(

    Hello all there,
i was strubbeling with the same problem, but i found 'a' solution.
Let's hope that apple would fix this in the next version of iCal.
If iCal is saying that it cannot be synced, and you found an error like this "error = Error Domain=CalExchangeErrorDomain Code=-11 UserInfo=...." in your console, try this (read carefully).
    *What i have done.*
    1. Get an pc with MS Windoos en MS outlook in your exchange network (yes really, you need it)
    2. Open MS outlook (i used 2007).
    3. Export your calender to a .pst backup file
    4. Then navigate to "View > Current View" and hit "all events".
    5. Select all events then delete them all
    6. Import your backup file to the calender.
    7. From step 3 to 6, they are waste of time.
*So... what you need to do*
    01. Open iCal and remove your exchange account.
    02. Get an pc with MS Windoos en MS outlook in your exchange network (yes really, you need it)
    03. Open MS outlook (i used 2007).
    04. Then navigate to "View > Current View" and hit "returning events".
    05. Note all of your returning events in notepad (also events from the past).
+You can also delete these events from the past+
    06. Now delete all these "returning events".
    07. Press the send and recieve all button in outlook.
    08. Grab a cup of coffee
    09. Start iCal and re-setup your exchange account.
If your exchange account is syncing with iCal then you can recreate the returning events. If it isn't syncing try to remove some other data, but be shure that you have created a backup file.
In my case the error was in one of the returning events, but i have figured that out to delete group of events en try'd to sync again.
Please note that my 3G iPhone was syncing very good, at time of this problem.
This are the console error messages:
11/6/09 06 Nov 15:16:26 iCal[291] Couldn't find an NSTimeZone to match the SerializableTimeZone
11/6/09 06 Nov 15:16:26 iCal[291] WARNING: Failed to find TimeZone Identifier for Windows MeetingTimeZone: Casablanca
    11/6/09 06 Nov 15:16:26 iCal[291] error = Error Domain=CalExchangeErrorDomain Code=-11 UserInfo=0x11a287ee0 "iCal can’t refresh events in the calendar “Calendar”."
    My setup:
MS SMB 2008 with Exchange 2007 (full updated till 2009/11/06 - today)
    iPhone 3G 3.0
    Mac OSX 10.6.1
    iCal 4.0 (1362)
So.... i hope that you can fix your problem with my post.
I will subscripe to this post for a while, so if you need some help; Post it!

  • Cannot Sync: Iphone 3G, Itunes 7.7, Outlook 2007 Exchange

    All -
I have read posts about this than for anything else in my entire life and I need help.
We have Outlook 2007 at work and we cannot do OTA sync due to IT restrictions. My assumption was I could sync using USB, Itunes with Outlook 2007 and it should sync email, contacts, calander. I have tried all combinations including reseting sync history, uninstalling/reinstalling, changing location of PST file to its default place etc and I have had no luck. I am on the verge of going back and returning the Iphone and go back to my blackberry. I am just hoping someone can help me out and I dont go that route.
Also, MobileMe sync didnt work for me as well but I guess there I am not alone. I already cancelled my subs for that.
Please help. i will make you my personal God if you can help me out.

    Hi All,
    Same issue here..
I have done troubleshooting from Apple & Microsoft support web sites with no success..
I receive no error though, i start the synchronization from iTunes, it runs for a while, but once finished, there is no contact/calendar item on the iPhone.
Please let me us know if you you have any information on this issue.
Thank you in advance for your help!

  • OUTLOOK 2013 permission shared calendar Free/Busy doesn't work for some the users Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2003 that use outlook 2007/2010

    Hello,
We are in coexitence organisation (transition Migration) Exchange 2003 sp2 and Exchange 2010 sp1.
Users in Exchange 2003 use outlook 2007 and outlook 2010
Users in Exchange 2010 use outlook 2007, outlook 2010 and outlook 2013.
Issue: users in Exchange 2003 can't open outlook 2013 user calendar when he has Busy/Free information as default permission in his calendar.
User in Exchange 2010 with outlook 2007 can't also open outlook 2013 user calendar when he has Busy/Free information as default permission in his calendar.
Is it normal ? or exist some configurations to do in order to coexist all thoses clients and servers ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Does this issue occur on Outlook only or both Outlook and OWA?
Since you have double checked the permissions via multiple methods, it seems there is nothing problem on permission. Please make sure the migration from Exchange 2003 server completed successfully.
If in OWA everything goes well (cannot see details), it should be an issue on the Outlook client side.
I suggest run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
I suggest re-create profile to refresh the caches.
    Thanks

  • Appointments added from iPhone aren't displayed in Outlook 2007 calendar

When I create a new appointment on my iPhone then sync with Outlook 2007 via iTunes, the new appointment isn't displayed in Day/Week/Month view of Outlook. If I change Outlook's view to All Appointments, there I can see all the details of the appointment that was added via my iPhone. For some odd reason iPhone generated appointments just doesn't appear in the normal Day/Week/Month view. I've also noticed that if I edit an existing appointment (previously viewable in both Outlook and iPhone), after the next synchronization Outlook only displays the appointment in All Appointment view. I am not using Exchange or MobileMe.

There is no real solution at the moment, but I have read that is in an option to show the appointment by making it a re-occurring everyday event and let the re-occurrence end at the same day the appointment is.
    It worked with me.
btw not a real bug fix but better than nothing

  • My iphone no longer syncs with outlook 2007

My iphone suddenly no longer syncs with Outlook 2007.  I have checked the Outlook add-ins list.  I can find no solutions.  Apple phone support did not help, genius bar did nto help.  Any suggestions ??

Is it everything that no longer syncs, or is it just one of the things, i.e. just calendar, contacts, notes? Many times as mentioned in the earlier post, it can be caused by a corrupt .pst file. Run the scanpst.exe application that resides in the Office folder. That will run a repair on the .pst file. Go into iTunes and reset the sync history and then try the sync again. If that doesn't help, it is possible there is a corrupt appointment in the calendar. That can cause a problem with syncing.
Try those couple of hints and see if that helps. Come back if it doesn't and let us know some more specifics.

  • TS2776 After installing iTunes 11, we can no longer sync our iPhone and iPad devices with Outlook 2007 or 2010.  We are trying to install iTunes 10 to replace iTunes 11. Anyone have a fix for this?

Since installing itunes 11, we can no longer sync to our Outlook 2007 and 2010 calendars (there may be other Outlook files included in this syncing problem). Using the iCloud is not an option as it does not support Vista OS.  We are trying to reinstall iTunes 10.7, however; that is not going particularly well, either. Does anyone have a proven solution for this mess?

FYI: It seems it was a network problem with my WinXP PC. After complete deletion and new installation of XP and iTunes my iPhone will be recognized correctly, Wifi synchronization works (mostly) fine.

  • Cannot sync contacts with Outlook 2007

I've googled how to do this and everything points to a method I have already tried that has not worked.
It says I should go to the info tab of my iTunes / iPhone sync options and check Sync conatcts with, and choose Outlook. The problem is my drop down is empty and trying to click it does nothing.
I'm running Outlook 2007, Windows XP, and iTunes

    Nevermind.
My iTunes had been acting kinda funny in general so I rebooted my PC, when I did I got an error that a process with iTunes was hung. When the PC came back up it was able to sync my contacts to Outlook with out issue.

  • Why do some recurring appointments in my iphone/ipad re-schedule the appointment in outlook one hour earlier, even where the original meeting is set in outlook.  So if a meeting is at 4pm, the iphone/ipad says 4pm but knocks the outlook back to 3pm

Please help me.  This seems to be an on-going problem but it seems Apple are yet to have fixed it.
I use my outlook calendar and my iphone and ipad but a problem keeps occurring when I sync.
If I have a recurring appointment, say 4pm on a Monday and enter it into outlook.  When I later sync and re-sync either the iphone or ipad, it shows as 4pm in these devices but when you look back at outlook, the appointment has been re-sceduled to 3pm.  It only happens with recurring appointment but it seems not all.  It happens even when the initial calendar entry is put into outlook first.  I have switched off i-cloud.  Have tried changing the time-zone settings etc. but it is still happening.  I have literally wasted hours on this and it is now driving me mad! Especially as the problem has been recorded preveiously from others and the glitch has still not been sorted.  How can you expect the iphone/ipad to be taken seriously as a business tool when it has such a glitch?
There is also a similar problem with the iphone/ipad where the clocks go back and forward.
If someone techy from Apple happens to read my note, please please pease can you reply to let me know if a) there is a way round it, b) if not, when will it be fixed and c) if there is a way round it, please can you tell me exactly what settings I should have on my phone in terms of time-zones....
    Thank you

I have this same problem as well. Updates to recurring meetings reflect correctly on my desktop Outlook and through OWA, but my iPhone shows the original meeting time/date and the updated time/date.
My colleague has a Moto Q (Windows Mobile 6) and has the same problem....so, I'm guessing this is an Exchange Server problem.
I also found this thread with the problem on Windows Mobile:

  • IPhone cannot connect to Exchange Outlook Web Access ( OWA )

Let me start by saying that my company will not activate POP or IMAP on their Exchange mail server. I am stuck with using their OWA interface into Exchange. However, when I enter the web address for OWA it never gets there. The iPhone will get to the login screen, but can never access the web interface.

    Hi,
If you browse to the OWA address from a Microsoft Windows system using Internet Explorer, does it bring you to a web form to login or do you get a Windows login popup (NTLM)?
I have tried accessing OWA where Exchange is not setup for a "forms" web page login, but rather popping up a windows login box to enter username and password.
    It worked.

  • How to Sync iphone 5 contacts/calendar with Outlook 2007

I used to have an iphone 3gs and upgraded to a 5 recently. Since then I can't sync outlook contacts/calendar like I used to.
All I want to do is sync outlook with the iphone so that I have the same data on my Windows7 PC as on the iPhone. I used to just hit sync in itunes and presto it would sync both ways. i.e new phone entries would be copied to outlook and new outlook enteries copied to the iphone.
Now in itunes "info". I  only see an option that sync's to the cloud only. I don't want to sync to the cloud because the old way was better for me.
Besides the cloud doesn't seem to work. The phone information gets uploaded to the cloud but the outlook information doesn't get updated? When I open up the cloud in Win7 using icloud I can see all the contacts on my phone but how do I get them to sync with Outlook and vice versa?
I've read so much information on the subject I'm blue in the face but have not found a solution.
Your help would be appreciated, Thank You.

If you have [accidentally] enabled iCloud sync on your iPhone, note that you first need to turn that off in order to be able to sync again via iTunes instead. iCloud sync and iTunes sync when it comes to contacts and calendars, are cannot be run simultaneously. Settings > iCloud > toggle the switches to OFF
You can alternatively read this for another offline method of syncing iphone contacts to outlook without needing to switch off your iCloud sync in first place.
