Some sites recently became blocked on my computer. I either get I'm not connected to the internet or redirected. How do I fix this?
I went on vacation, when I came back the following websites were blocked. Facebook, Cracked & TMZ. I cannot access them from this computer either with Fixfox or IE. They can be accessed by other computers at this work. Is there a way to unblock them?
With Facebook, I get the message saying I'm not signed onto the internet. With the other 2, I get redirected to Yahoo.com.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I can't access any of my music that I've purchased through itunes.
Found a solution on another thread....very easy and it worked:
go to c:\program files (86x), apple, apple product support and copy the file QTMovieWin to c:\program files (86x), itunes
Hope this helps anyone else with this problem. -
For some reason when I open iTunes, and try to access the itunes store, help, my account, or anything else I get a message saying that I'm not connected to the internet, even when I know that I am. What's wrong?
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

My ipad has a password that I can't remember and it's not connected to the internet, so my computer won't recognize it and I know that when all get this figured out that it will be set back to factory state but how do I get it there
If you've forgotten the passcode to unlock your iPad then there are instructions on this page for how to reset the iPad (your iPad doesn't need to be connected to the internet) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
If your computer's iTunes isnt recognising the iPad when you connect it then have you got a recent version of iTunes installed on your computer ? There are also troubleshooting pages for a device not showing in iTunes on these pages :

Why does my computer shut down when i try to connect to the internet?
I have recently found that when i'm trying to connect to the internet, a box is appearing something like This device does not exist, please check your settings and try again. My settings are fine, my wires are connected and i cant find any reason why the connection wouldn't work. I have shut down my computer and this hasn't helped when i have restarted it and now, the screen has gone dark with an scary box saying the computer has to restart itself. No reason is given (or at least i can't remember if there was a reason). My computer is going a bit slower now and is making a noise like an application is opening or the computer is doing something.
Can anyone help???? I have only had my i baby for a few months. I do download stuff all the time and i have been known to leave my internet connection on for a day at a time. Could this have caused the problem?Close all apps in the multi-task window and try again.
1.Double-click the Home button.
2. Swipe the app's preview up to close it.
3. Preview will fly off the screen. -
so in other words, I can NOT sign in on my account, much less authorize this laptop. can't even access help. have downloaded the latest itunes software, checked my firewall settings etc.... (the itunes help window even opens up with "itunes help is unavailable because your computer is not connected to the internet". granted I am basically computer illiterate, in other words if something isnt working my knowledge is pretty limited with tweaking things. I need some help!
On an Alenware laptop, this issue is often older drivers on the Bigfoot networking card.
Head to the drivers and downloads page for your model of Alienware at Dell. Check for newer versions of the drivers for your Bigfoot card. If you're behind and you update, can you get through to the Store (or Help) now? -
After I updated my 4OS to 6 OS, some of my email will not open as it says I am not connected to the Internet. This is a first...HUH?
Try connecting the two computers together and dragging the iPhoto library dorm the pictures folder to the desktop then dragging the iPhoto library from the old computer to the pictures folder of the new and launching iPhoto. That should work and if rpeverything is good trash the iPhoto library on the desktop

need support pleaseYou haven't provided much information, such as what type of router you have? If you entered the encryption key as the password as opposed to the router name you have selected? If you have WEP or WPA? What you've tried that didn't work, other than saying it doesn't work? So, below is a link to some assistance. Follow this and see if it helps you.........

Friends,
I'm having some audio-midi setup problems on my G4/1.25/10.5.1 machine. I'm thinking that a routine OS upgrade might help. However, this machine is not connected to the internet. Are there any alternate methods for upgrading system software? Thanks in advance!OK, what you should do is download the updates on another machine and burn them to a disc. Start at this link http://support.apple.com/downloads/#leopard for downloads and find, among other things, the 10.5.8 combo updater that works on PPC machines, plus security, QuickTime and other updates. Going from 10.5.1 to 10.5.8, there will probably be a bunch of things that you should install. Being off the internet with the machine, you can't have Software Update sort it out, so something might get missed, unfortunately.
My suggestion is this: if it looks like you might need a download, get it onto that disc. -
I want to download Firefox on a flashdrive so I can then download it to my home computer which is not connected to the internet. When I download Firefox, it won't let me change the path and so tries to download on a public computer, which isn't allowed. The reason I want it on my home computer is because I'm creating web pages and I want to view my html pages using a variety of browsers, including Firefox.
From another computer, go to http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/, click "Free download" button, click "Save File" button, select your flash drive in "Save as" window. "Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe" file will be saved in your flash drive.
You just need to insert it in your new computer and double-click on "Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe" from Windows Explorer and follow instructions. -

I tried to update my browser from 3.6 to4.0. On restarting the computer I found I could no longer connect to the internet. I then connected to the internet using Internet Explorer and removed the mozilla browser and reinstall Mozilla firefox 4.0. Again the browser using this updated version didn't work. So reinstalled Mozilla firefox 3.6 and it worked.
It appearsMozilla firefox 4.0 has a problem.
My operating system is Windows XP pro.Uninstall 2.x totally
Use CCleaner Registry tool
Do whatever you need to to nuke the existing Apple programs and folders hidden here and there also.

I have my ipod nano 5th generation and when i plugged to my computer it is recognized but i cant do anything. On the ipod all i can see is a blackscreen with the apple sign! How can i fix this?
Howdy Lumagofe,
I was thinking that you may need to reset the iPod Nano, outlined here How to reset iPod http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above step did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.
If that doesn't quite get the iPod going again, then it will need to be restored. Use this article to help with that Restoring iPod to factory settings http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1339.
All the very best,
Sterling
