Some songs are not copied to Ipod

To perform a clean install of Leopard, I erased the hard disk, installed the system and recovered all files from a Timemachine backup. Everything went fine. But, when I synchronised one of my 4 Ipods, a few songs (77 out of 2000) were not copied (Mac says that I do not have the permission to do so). Those songs were bought from the ITune store. Only 2 computers are registered on my ITunes store account. I use 4 Ipods.
Can someone help ? Thanks

Have you authorized your new OS installation (which iTunes treats as a new and different computer)?

  • Some songs do not copy from iTunes to iPod

This is very frustrating. I have a 5th Generation 60gig iPod. There are about 20,300 songs in my library, none of them from the iTunes store. All legal, all owned by me and I have the CDs to prove it. When I update the iPod all but about 4 or 5 songs copy over. The frustrating thing is there's no way to find out which songs are not copying over to the iPod, so I can't tell if there's a problem with them or what. AppleCare tells me the only way to find out is to visually compare the list on the iPod with the list in iTunes. I have 20,000 songs here and allegedly one of the most powerful computers you can get and I have to compare two nearly identical lists visually?? Oh, by the way I'm running 10.4.6 and the latest version of iTunes and the latest iPod update. This never happened with my 4th Generation iPod. Any thoughts at all of what to do would certainly be appreciated.

Are you basing the few that don't get sent to your ipod on the file count? Could there be duplicates? I've noticed that there are some of my movies that don't get sent over but I usually get a warning that they aren't in a compatable format.
There is an option in either file or edit (can't remember exactly where, I'm at work) but you can filter to show all the duplicates. I've noticed that when I drag files over to be copied to my ipod and there are duplicates, it only does one.
After you find the culprits, another thing would be to export the file to your desktop. Delete it from iTunes then reimport it making sure of the file format.
    just a thought

  • Some songs are not longer available and an ! exclamation mark appears before the song. What should I do?

Some songs are not longer available and an ! exclamation mark appears before the song in iTunes. What should I do?

When you open iTunes it opens a database file that contains the locations of the media files you use to play the music.  If something has happened to invalidate where iTunes thinks that file is stored you get a !   There are many possible reasons.  Sometimes a computer can start to lose files.  In other situations it is something you did such as renaming a folder or drive iTunes uses, or moving the files manually.  If you can give us hints we can start working our way down the long list.

  • How to find which songs are not synchronized with iPod?

I have about 5,000 songs in iTunes and the same minus 7 in the iPod.
How do I find the songs that were not synchronized?
    Thanks,

Hi, the instruction are difficult to follow, I am not a programmer. Secondly I understand that it finds duplicate songs. My problem that some tongs were not transfered to iPod for some reason. I checked the duplicate songs from the menu and it showed hundreds, because some of them in the Best of or live Albums.
I think iTunes should have an option finding non synced songs.
    Thank you,

Were the songs in question downloaded directly on the device or synced from iTunes on the computer?
Content does not magically appear on the device.

  • Some songs won't copy to Ipod from Itunes

    Hello all,
A bunch of songs won't transfer to my ipod and I can't figure out why...
Exact message: "Some of the items in the Itunes Library, including "..." were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod" Then it says there are "101 problems - see below"
I counted the tracks, there are actually 63. (My library has about 6000 tunes.)
I've recently upgraded to buy the new DRM free songs, but I don't see the connection.
I checked the Kind, Sample Rate, and Bit rate and there doesn't seem to be any differences between these and others.
I converted the songs to mp3-192s, trashed the originals, still won't transfer.
I still have 10GB of space left on my iPod, so it's not a space issue.
Most are songs I purchased in the I-tunes store.
The only thing these songs have in common is that they all were loaded in the same session.
They were on my iPod before I upgraded to 7.2
    I'm on a G4 laptop, OS 10.4.9 1.67 PowerPC.
    Running I-Tunes 7.2
    Video iPod version 1.2.1

I was shocked to see your post. I was just about to paste this new thread:
After updating iPod software to 1.1.3 for my nano 8GB, there are 101 songs that iTunes refuses to sync to the nano, saying:
Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "Great Escape", were not copied to the iPod "My iPod" because they cannot be played on this iPod.
When I use the disclosure triangle to see details, all songs give the same info, for example:
"Multiply" was not copied because the file type is not supported by the iPod "My iPod".
But these are all just MP3 files. Some, if not all, of them were purchased in the iTunes store, then burned to a standard CD (aiff?), then later reloaded. They've all been played before on this iPod. I still have the original protected song files filed away, and I could pull them out, but I shouldn't have to do that. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks.

Sully, I think it is an odd coincidence that we both have "101 problems". I thought this was an iPod problem at first, but I have reset the iPod and started all over. The problem persists. I think the problem is in iTunes. In my case at least, there seems to be a list of m4p files within iTunes that were on this iPod before, files that i have replaced with regular mp3 files now, and iTunes doesn't want to copy over them. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

  • Some songs will not go onto ipod

I just got a 5th Gen 30 GB today to replace a stolen one. I still have my entire library but now some songs when i try to upload them onto the ipod, display the message "Attempting to copy the disk to 'ipod' failed. the disk could not be read from or written to." so I keep having to unplug, and then replug my ipod back in to update about every 30 songs. something has to be wrong. Help please!!

Never mind i switched the USB port that my ipod was plugged into and now its working fine. lol.

  • Songs will not copy to iPod - authorization issue?

My apologies first if this topic has been covered already.
I just bought a shiny new 5Gen iPod and I need to load it up. Problem: any songs/videos I have purchased through the ITMS previously (with old iPod) will not copy to the new iPod.
Is this an authorization issue? How do I correct this? AND if I get the new iPod authorized correctly, does this mean I can no longer transfer stuff onto the old one?
How do any of you with more than one iPod handle this?
    Please and thank you!
    Powerbook G4 Titanium Mac OS X (10.4.2)

There are a few things you can do if this happens. Here are the first steps...
Have you played the songs in iTunes for a few seconds? This will authorize them. Now sync your iPod. Do they play?
If not, make sure everything is up to date on your computer...
    iTunes
    iPod Updater
If that doesn't work, in iTunes, go to advanced-->deauthorize computer. Now play the songs in iTunes. It will ask for your account information (from the iTunes Music Store). Enter that. Now play a few purchased songs for a few seconds. Sync your iPod. Do the songs work now?
If they don't, please post back for more suggestions.

  • Song was not copied to iPod because it cannot be played on this iPod

i copied a song to a folder from the internet then added the folder to itunes. Then when i try to put the song on my iPod nano i get the message (song title) was not copied to the iPod "Mike's iPod" because it cannot be played on this iPod. i can play the entire song on the itunes library though, and there is a little wave icon thing next to the song title. How can I make it where I can copy this song to the iPod?

Ok, I tried changing the file format and when I select the song and go to the advanced menu it says convert selection to... but the text isnt selectable but is when I select a different song. I guess this means its protected from being converted? If so is there anything else I can do to be able to get it onto my iPod?
Also does it matter what format I try to convert it too?

  • Some songs are not able to be downloaded.

Some songs won't download. Error -100000 appears. iTunes support just gave me some credits for each song to download an other song, but I want THESE songs! Has anyone got an idea what the problem could be?
My personal belief would be that the data on the server is corrupt, but iTunes support didn't react to my request to check if this is true.

Hi, you can check the following:
    -->Check for firewall and antivirus
    -->NIC compatbility
    -->Run postinstall
-->Span to PC port, pc PORT enabled , PC voice VLAN access and G.722 codec disabled
-->Sniffer on agent PC to see if it is getting any RTP

  • Some Songs are not on iTunes but play on my iPod! HELP!

I have lost random songs of iTunes and it says it can nt locate the song file. But i can play all my songs on my iPod! Please help as i need to listen to my songs though my computer! Thanks!

    I've had that problem, too ><; Check your iTunes...Did it make duplicates of certain songs as well? That's what happened to me: I lost random songs because they were replaced with other songs, so I got duplicates O_o;

  • Why do some songs fail to copy to iPod?

MacBook Pro OS 10.7.3, iPod Touch OS 5.1, iTunes 10.6.1:
Sometimes, when I copy a songlist from my computer to my iPod, certain song files will not complete the transfer. These are average sized files I've been playing and transferring among devices previously, either AAC files or MP3 files. Nothing fancy. Any ideas?

Have you look for this installed app on other pages of apps by swiping to the left and right to access the other pages of apps?  Also look for the app in folders of apps as well.
Have you doing a Spotlight search for it? To do this, swipe to the high from the main Home Screen and type in the name of the app.
