Some songs can't be deleted off my iphone 4.

I have tried the manual managing of the music, but a good handful of songs are on the phone, but don't show up in the manual manage list. It's really annoying since I'd like to sync the albums these songs belong to, but if I do that I end up with duplicates of these songs on my phone. Has anyone seen this problem before?

Ok don't know if I can tell you this but if your jailbroke ShSh, on your phone and on your computer you can get rid of anything even them stupid ringtones look it up on google it's all free, if your not jailbroke look up redsn0w if you a 4.3.3 or lower you good unteather jailbreak, 4.5 teathered but it works the same. Why is iTunes re-syncing songs I already deleted off my iPhone?

Sometimes, not all the time thankfully, but sometimes when I connect my iPhone 4S to iTunes, it will sometimes re-sync previous songs I had already deleted from my iPhone. These are songs I did not want in my iPhone and obviously deleted them but sometimes iTunes will just sync it right back.
I can't just cancel the sync because it'll just do it again the next time I reconnect, I went to Auto Sync but I really didn't see anything that would change what is happening. It is very annoying because sometimes I will delete entire albums and iTunes will RE-DOWNLOAD everything right back to my phone and I have to go back and delete it again.

The Messages app is a built in application. It can't be deleted. You could move it to a folder or to the last home page so that you don't have to look at it.

If they were backed up, you can restore your phone from that previous backup. If they weren't backed up, you cannot restore them.

Have you failed to import your photos to your comptuer regularly?
If so, then they are likely gone. You can try restoring from backup.

iPhoto sees your phone as a digital camera and offers to import any photos it finds in your camera roll, and only if you click the Import button in iPhoto. If you don't want to import photos, don't connect the phone to iPhoto. If you want to transfer photos from iPhoto to your phone, do that from the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync. If iPhoto is automaticallly opening when you connect your phone, go to iPhoto>Preferences>General and choose "No application" from the drop-down list next to "Connecting camera opens:".

You cannot, unless they were there at last backup. You can try restoring from backup, losing anything done since the last sync.

The syncing of music is not a true sync process - not really a sync at all. It is a transfer process. No iTunes content in your iTunes library will ever be touched or removed by syncing an iDevice.
Where is your old computer - the one with your iTunes library that was used to sync with your iPhone? Why didn't you transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer along with all other important data such as documents, photos, etc.?
If your old computer is still available, transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link. This will prevent any iTunes content from being removed from your iPhone with the first sync with iTunes on your new computer.

Some songs can't be loaded on 2nd gen ipod shuffle (question with answer)

I'm getting the following message when trying to load some songs on to my 2nd gen iPod shuffle:
"Some of the items in the iTunes library, including 'Allegro', were not copied to the iPod "iPod" because they cannot be played on this iPod." When I click on the details triangle I get "Allegro" was not copied because the audio format is not supported by the iPod "iPod".
This is happening for many songs that were previously loaded on this iPod. The songs were all loaded into iTunes from CDs. I have tried the iPod reset utility, deleting all songs and reloading, selecting a single song to sync, no luck.
When I do a "Get Info" on these songs they say they were encoded with either iTunes 6.0.5 or iTunes 7.0.2.
OK. Even before I was able to post the question, I found the answer. If I select the songs and from the "Advanced" menu select "Create AAC version", the AAC version can be copied to the iPod. Get Info shows the encoding has changed so AAC and iTunes 9.0.1.
Hope this helps someone else with a similar problem.

You can't "sync" that is automatically update an iPod from multiple libraries or computers. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply.

It's like this: I moved my account to my new MacBook Pro from my older Powerbook G4. Same dir structure across the board. Only thing I can think of that's different is the CPU...
My iTunes library is transferred alright, all my playlists and what-have-you. Some songs, though, can't be found. I double click one to play, I get the 'Do you want to locate it?' dialog. I open the .xml library file in TextEdit, and the Location for the particular song is the correct one: my song resides where it should.
Anyway, I relocate the directory containing those songs to the Desktop, and iTunes finds the ones that it couldn't, and misses the ones that it could (all residing in the same dir). BTW, the .xml file doesn't change at all through all that...
Any ideas as to what is going wrong?
BTW, I would really love to know how iTunes manages to keep track of all the added songs, when it does work. Up until now, this is what I've done and iTunes has had no problem: place new songs in a particular location, add it to the Library through drag-n-drop, then move the original file to the final location. iTunes is set to not keep music folder organized and not copy song files in the iTunes dir structure. How does it do it?

Same thing after moving Music folder to an external drive. Some songs were there while others were not. "Fixed" it by re-copying music folder to its default location on the local drive. Now everything plays even though iTunes prefs. point to the external folder. It seems as if iTunes just prefers music in that default location. Will probably re-point back to the local drive and keep it there as this is sch a common problem.

I have three duplications of one song on my iphone that were stopped mid-download over wifi because of poor connection and cannot be deleted. The songs do not play they just sit there using up memory. How do i delete them? The delete swipe will not show up. I have all the latest itunes/software updates and i have tried deleting all of my songs off my iphone and redownloading the song off of wifi but it just adds another duplicate. I'd like a better solution that restoring my phone. Thanks in advance!

do you have itunes?
if so, plug in your phone, click on your phone under devices. click music, and uncheck those incomplete songs, then sync. this will take them off
