Some songs not authorized

I am having an issue where a couple of songs that I purchased from Itunes will not sync with my iphone due to a warning telling me it is not authorized to play on this computer. I tried to deauthorize and reauthorize. I tried resyncing and restarting the program. The thing is I bought several songs all at the same time with the same settings on both my phone and itunes. Some synced fine while just a couple wouldn't. Any suggestions...

tried deauthorizing the computer for music store account, asked for my apple password as if i was buying a song, did it, did advanced-check for purchases-asked for password again- and then the songs still did not work. i noticed when it says the song is not authorized, it has an AOL screen name and ask for AOL password, don't have AOL though anymore. please help, only the first 45 purchased songs don't work. would appreciate any help, thanks

  • Sync causes 'some songs not authorized to play on this computer'

When syncing iPod to iTunes I keep getting the message that some songs were not copied because they are not authorized to play on the computer.
How do I determine which songs are not authorized? I have either purchased all of my songs iTunes or loaded them from my CD. Therefore, all should be "authorized"

    Diane,
I may have had another ID when I first started using iTunes - I just can't remember - I'll try to narrow it down using the smart playlist that you have suggested. As I'm thinking, I wonder if a disk that my daughter created for me a few years ago as a birthday gift (Dad's Mix) contained music that she had purchased with her account ID on iTunes, could be the culprit. Anyway, as I said, I'll try to whittle it down to isolate the songs that are generating the message. Thanks.

  • Some songs not authorized/deauthorized

I recently transferred my data to a new computer. I deauthorized the old first. I authorized the new one. When I synced my ipod, it noted that 10 songs (out of 50 or so purchased) could not be synced because they were not authorized. I tried to play one of them in itunes, and it asked me to authorize. I did and all ten songs then played. It also noted that these songs were authorized on 2 computers. So they did not deauthorize on the other computer. So 10 of my songs are not authorizing/dauthorizing properly. These 10 songs are the oldest purchased songs. How do I deauthorize thse on the old computer, since the computer already thinks it is dauthorized?

  • New Computer - Some Songs Not Authorized

Hi. I switched my iTunes library over to my new computer. It went well, except it now tells me that 23 of my purchase songs can't be played because my computer is unautorized to play them.
So, (already logged in) I authorize the computer, which it says is successful.
I then go to play the song and it says the computer isn't authorized to play it...lol
Any ideas? The same thing happened when I upgraded to iTunes 7 for the first time and there was an issue with me switching from an AOL account to and Apple account.
I emailed apple support and they resolved the issue, but can't seem to find a support email address anywhere on here, so thought I'd try the forums....
    Thanks for any help.

You are correct. Apparently it is asking me to authorize under my old AOL account information. Unfortunately, that account no longer exists. The password does not work.
This was the same problem I described in the original post. I emailed support and they "consolidated" my accounts under my appleID. Apparently, transferring the library to a new computer somehow screwed that up.
Does anyone have an email address for support. That was the way I was able to get it fixed last time. Thank you for the reply and any additional help.

  • Music in library, why are some songs not marked with cloud?

Music in library, why are some songs not marked with cloud icon?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Where exactly are you looking and what do they look like, there are several iCloud icons used in iTunes.
    Maybe a screenshot.

  • I preordered an album and i only got some songs not all, what happened

i preordered an album and i only got some songs not all, what happened??

What do you mean 'only got some songs not all' ?
Has the album now been released ? If it is has and you've paid for it (you aren't charged when you pre-order an item, only when it's released) then you should be able to download the complete e.g. via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone, or the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes.

  • Songs not authorized for transfer

What do I do??? New nano and I tried to initially transfer my library (only 70 songs) to it but 69 of the songs say "songs not authorized for transfer on this computer"... What do I do>????? Something with my iMac???? Good god... This is not easy sometimes...

Hmm... I don't have a Mac computer but usually when songs aren't authorized to be transferred it is because you bought them on iTunes with a certain account and that account isn't the same one used on the new computer. All you have to do is go to the top of the iTunes screen after opening it up and go over to the 'Store' -> 'Authorize Computer'. Then a prompt should come up for you to type in the AppleID or the AOL ID that you used to buy the songs. This will let you play and use the songs on your current computer. However, only 5 computers can be authorized per ID, but a computer can also be deauthorized as well. Hope I could help!

Good news EVERYONE! I have had a large number of problems with my 160GB iPod Classic. I even formatted it to NTFS to try and get it to work (highly not recommended). I have now got an iPod with software version 1.1.2.
    @ Uninstall iTunes completely.
@ Download older version of iTunes here OldVersion.com
@ Install it and download an older firmware. Google here
@ But the downloaded IPSW and Signature files into
    *"Documents and Settings\[Your Username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates"*
@ Click on your iPod under devices within iTunes
@ Hold Ctrl and then click on 'Restore'. When prompted choose 'Don't Check' and then choose to install older version.
@ Now UPDATE your iPod! I had immediate success which suggests the problem is to do with upgrading from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2

  • Purchased songs not authorized on computer from ipod

For some reason a pop up comes up that says this computer is not authorized to play purchased songs on ipod. And I choose the option to authorize. It says it is authorized already. After clicking ok it closes then it pops up again. I authorize it again but it keeps popping up. Not sure why since all the songs are purchased through the store.

Change the iPod's drive letter. That has helped several folks.

I know your symptom isn't in that article's list, but try it.
I assume the songs will play in itunes, correct? If you get the evil authorization loop while just trying to play songs in iTunes, there are other things to try. If they just won't go to the ipod, the drive letter change should work.

  • Old songs not authorized?

    Hi,
My old PC's Hard Drive got corrupted and I got a new PC. I've managed to import many, but not all of my songs from our iPods. I have 2 issues.
    1. Some songs tell me that the computer is not authorized to play the song. I then enter my password, get the message "this computer is already authorized" attempt to play again and get the same message. How do i authorize these old songs?
    2. Can I re-download the songs on my account that are not on my iPod (without having to purchase the again) since they have been erased from my old hard drive?
    Thanks for any help.

First make sure that you are using the same account userid from which they were originally purchased. If that is OK, search on this forum for "dreaded authorization loop."
+"Can I re-download the songs on my account that are not on my iPod (without having to purchase the again)"+
The policy is no, but sometimes the iTunes Store will make an exception. You can try it with Customer Service.

  • Purchased songs not authorized???

God knows that I love my music, so someone please help!!!
I was prompted to upgrade to ITunes 7.0.1 so I did. After doing so I connected my IPOD to update it and got a message that several (16 of 24) songs were not authorized to play on this machine - same machine I've used from day 1. I went in to authorize the songs (one by one) and they still won't play.
The dialogue box (to authorize) is trying to match my password with my e-mail address, and not with the Apple ID associated with my account. So I change it to my ID and it appears to accept it, but the problem just repeats when trying to play it. This is all new since upgrading.
Anybody know what happened and how to fix it? I can't play some of my favorite songs. Ouch!!

Oh, I authorized one song and now they are all
authorizing and seem to be fine. Phew.
Well Sandy, I feel dumb. Mine was simply that I had evidently registered originally with my e-mail address and the password was slightly different than what I use now. So, once I figured that out, all of my songs are authorized.
And, as you said, once I authorized the first song with the correct username and password, they all were authorized.

  • HELP. Songs Not Authorized?

When I try to update my ipod, a window pops up and says "some songs from the library were not copied onto the ipod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer" How do I fix this and how to I know which songs have that problem?
      Windows XP

Log into your iTunes music store account and make sure your PC is authorized.
Or just play a purcahsed song in iTunes.
Then will it those songs go to the iPod?

  • Songs not authorized to play on iTunes??

Not sure if anyone has encountered this but while going through some songs I haven't listened to in a while I'll get a prompt saying, "This song is not authorized to play on iTunes", it'll ask for my password & then it'll say, "You've given access to play this song on 2 computers now"?????
Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Can anyone tell me what's going on?
Older content purchased from the iTunes Store contains DRM, which limits the circumstances in which it can be played. If you've previously authorized that computer, click here and follow the instructions.

  • Songs Not Authorized

I am trying to load my iPod from my iMac running Mountain Lion (10.8.2). I get a window that says "Some songs could not be imported to the iPod because they are not authorized on this computer" or something close to that. I re-checked the authoriozation and it seems OK. How do I determine which songs those are and what should I do about them? It can't be many as my 20 GB iPod is almost full.
    Thank you

A popular fix is to burn the track to a CD then re-import it to iLife.
