Some symbols gets prefixed  to a specific field in validation statement.

Hi All,
I am beginner in SAP MDM and facing an issue in validations in Data Manager. Some symbols gets prefixed  to a specific field in validation statement.
Any ideas,in what situation does it happen i.e. due to any repository operation from console etc ?
Regards,
Shivani

Dear Shivani,
Please eleborate when are you getting this and which are the symbols?

  • How to get keyboard cursor on specific field with a condition

    I am using forms6i. i have two fields 1st field1 and field2. I want that when field1='A' then keyboard cursor go to field2 else it must automatically skip the field2. and the condition is that the trigger must not be key-next-item, because if this process completed or not we have to go to next record and to save it.How is this possible???

    Depending on how your users navigate your application (mostly keyboard or combination of keyboard and mouse) the Key-Next-Item (KNI) trigger will not file if the user uses the mouse to leave Field1. Rather than use the KNI trigger I suggest you use a combination of the When-Validate-Item (WVI) and the Module/Form level When-Timer-Expired (WTE) triggers. This ensures no matter how your user leaves Field1 that the navigation cursor will go to Field2 if the value of field1 is 'A'. For example:
    /* Sample WVI trigger */
    DECLARE
       timer_id   TIMER;
    BEGIN
       IF ( :FIELD1 = 'A' ) THEN
          Create_Timer('GOTO_FIELDB',1,NO_REPEAT);
       END IF;
    END;This code creates a 1 millisecond timer which will execute immediately so there is no lag in your application. Also, since it is a 1 millisecond timer, it will not cause a network trip to the application server.
    /* Sample WTE trigger */
    /* This is a Module/Form level trigger */
    DECLARE
       v_Timer   VARCHAR2(30) := Get_Application_Property(TIMER_NAME);
    BEGIN
       IF ( v_timer = 'GOTO_FIELDB' ) THEN
          Go_Item('FIELDB');
       END IF;
    END;Hope this helps,

  • How to get around Ampersand in text field in Select statement

    I have an SQL statement I am trying to run in SQL*Plus. In one of my subqueries, I have a select statment in which some of the fields I am trying to pull have an "&" within the text. So, when I try and run the query it returns "Enter value for 35:". I've even tried wildcard characters and it is still not working. If anyone could help me with this, I would appreciate it. • Comparing workareas excluding some specific fields

    Hi all gurus,
    a silly question, I know, anyway: in my requirement I have to compare different workareas in a loop cycle with a model workarea. The aim is to identify if a workarea in a loop differs from the model workarea except for some specific fields.
    In example; the workarea A has 100 fields, and I assume that this workarea is equal to the model one (B)  if all the fields in A contain the same value that corrisponding field have in B except for fields 'guid' and 'p_guid', which can contain different values.
    So, A is EQ to B if the other 98 fields are filled with the same values.
    Actually I can build a sequence of comparing condition:
    IF A-field1 EQ B-field1 AND A-field2 EQ B-field2 ...
    that's quite time-wasting and I wonder if there's a better solution to compare in the above described way.... a sort of exclusion for the compare operation maybe?
    Sorry, I get that this is probably a very basic question, anyway I searched a bit without results.
    Thanks in advance.

    If you could change the definition of data type then this comparision can be done in single statement.
    See example below.
    TYPES : BEGIN OF ty_d ,
              col01 TYPE char01 ,
              col02 TYPE char01 ,
              col98 TYPE char01 ,
            END OF ty_d .
    TYPES : BEGIN OF ty_dd .
    INCLUDE TYPE ty_d AS d .    "this will enable to refer all COL01.. COL98 by name 'd'
    TYPES : guiid TYPE char05 ,
    END OF ty_dd .
    DATA : ls_dd1 TYPE ty_dd ,
           ls_dd2 TYPE ty_dd .
    ls_dd1-col01 = 'A' .
    ls_dd1-col02 = 'B' .
    ls_dd1-col98 = 'C' .
    ls_dd2-col01 = 'A' .
    ls_dd2-col02 = 'B' .
    ls_dd2-col98 = 'C' .
    IF ls_dd1-d = ls_dd2-d .
      WRITE 'EQUAL' .
    ELSE.
      WRITE 'NOT EQUAL'.
    ENDIF.
    ls_dd2-col01 = 'D' .
    IF ls_dd1-d = ls_dd2-d .
      WRITE / 'EQUAL' .
    ELSE.
      WRITE / 'NOT EQUAL'.
    ENDIF.

  • How do you get a line with MULTIPLE fields to WRAP ?

    How do you get a line with MULTIPLE fields to WRAP ?
    Good afternoon everyone...
    THE PROBLEM: Why doesn’t a line with multiple fields WRAP?
    HYPOTHETICAL EXAMPLE/WHAT I”D LIKE TO SEE
    If I have 2 fields on a line (this is now a hypothetical example and nothing to do with my actual report)….let’s call them field A and field B. And if field A has values of all ‘X’ and field B has values of all ‘Y’…then….the normal case would be (ignore dots – only for spacing):
    A……………………… B
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
    But what if A is too long? I would want to see B wrap onto the next line like this:
    A……………………………………………………B
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX YYYYYY
    YYYYYYYYYYYYY
    And similarly….if B is extra long, can the line print as:
    A………………………. B
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
    YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
    I don’t want the case where B is long and I get:
    A………………… …B…
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
    ………………………..YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
    I can see how you can wrap an individual field like that…but how can you WRAP a line of[b] fields within the frame so it wraps to the BEGINNING of the frame on next line?
    My SPECIFIC CASE
    I have a report that I have stripped down to a simple structure for the purposes of this explanation.
    My DATA MODEL has the main QUERY (for plant family and species data). The columns of the query are divided into 2 groups. The 1st GROUP contains the family data. Below that is the rest of the species data in a 2nd GROUP.
    Linking from the 2nd species group (above) is a new QUERY to extract REGION data based on the common key field. Under this 2nd query is another group with all the REGION columns.
    The LAYOUT MODEL has a group frame (the main , base one)
    On top of this is a repeating frame based on the 1st group (family data).
    On top of this is another repeating frame for the 2nd group (species data).
    On top of this is 2 Frames on the same line line. The 1st frame contains columns from the species group .
    The 2nd frame on this line is a repeating frame. The PRINT DIRECTION for this frame is ACROSS/DOWN. It repeats details of the REGION where the species is found. These columns come from this group come from the REGION QUERY and GROUP.
    All fields on the report line have variable horizontal elasticity.
    The problem is that when there is too much data on the line, it does NOT WRAP to the 2nd line.. It TRUNCATES.
    Can the line be made to WRAP????..
    In my current report, 1 of 2 things is happening:
    1) All fields print on the line until it hits the page boundary and then it just stops. Truncated!
    2) All fields print on the current line, then Oracle Reports throws a new page to print the REMAINDER of the long, input line
    But I would like a LONG line to continue printing onto the following line of the same page.
    I have tried all combinations of the elasticity fields and the ‘ADVANCED LAYOUT’ properties.
    I have been focussing my attention with this problem on the frames .
    We are using REPORT BUILDER V 6.0.8.26.0
    Thankyou to anyone who may offer assistance.
    Tony Calabrese.

    Steve,
    you gain 1 thing, but you lose something else!
    This thing is SO frustrating!
    Hey Steve! Good afternoon.
    I've done as you suggested....I have a long text boilerplate item - the only 1 on the line...and it has all the column in it.
    So it looks like:
    &col1 &col2 &col3 &col4 &col5 etc etc etc
    And the line expands nicely to each field's requirements.
    And when it gets to the right page boundary...it WRAPS to the next line! Beautiful!!!
    The only thing is that...when I had individual fields across the line I was able to create format triggers for those fields. And in doing so I was able to reduce the font and change the justification. I had to do that because some of the fields had to appear superscripted.
    So I wanted something like (ignore the dots):
    ...................................ppppp
    AAAA BBBB CCCCC DDDD EEEE FFFFFF
    So the field of 'ppppp' appeared slightly higher on the line than the other fields...
    I can't see how I can do this with a single TEXT field containing all the &COL values.
    Have you ever come across anything like this?
    Thankyou again,
    Tony Calabrese 12/4/2007

  • How to get the name of a field without specifying it as a string (somehow v

    Is it possible to get the name of a field (or method) somehow via the class in which it is declared?
    The reason why I ask is, that quite often the name of a field is important, because the name is the anchor for further processing, like for example when using reflection (e.g. Class.getfield(“NameOfTheField”)).
    Assume you have class FooSimple with the field “String firstName”.
    Now you would do something like this:
    Class<FooSimple> cls = FooSimple.class;
    Field f = cls.getField("firstName");
    The problem is, that the string “firstName” is kind of “hard coded”. When the name of the field in class FooSimple changes (e.g. to “theFirstName”), the invocation will not work anymore when you forget to change the string too.
    I think it would be very helpful to have access to the name of the field directly via the class by doing something like this.
    Class<FooSimple> cls = FooSimple.class;
    Field f = cls.getField(FooSimple.firstName.fieldName);
    The Java Compiler would then resolve “FooSimple.firstName.fieldName” to the string “firstName”. When later the name of the field is changed, the IDE would change the name everywhere where it is used. So if the name of the field would be changed to “theFirstName” the IDE would also change the statement to
    Class<FooSimple> cls = FooSimple.class;
    Field f = cls.getField(FooSimple.theFirstName.fieldName);
    A technique like this would be in my opinion much more safety and more generic.
    Any ideas?
    Best Regards.

    Well, I think the discussion is going in a wrong direction because the original issue was not to discuss if it is worth coding some helper classes or a framework or that like. Let me bring it back to my original point.
    Basically you can reduce my original question to this:
    Currently it is possible to use the reflection API on a class level without specifying the name of the class with a string constant.
    My issue is, that I think it would be a nice extension for Java, if the same would be possible for field variables of a Java class. Currently the only way you can do this is by specifying the field variable with a string constant.
    Let me bring some motivations which brought me to this issue.
    Assume you have an entity bean which represents a DB table and you use Java Persistence (either JPA or something like Hibernate). Then you would have a class looking like this (very simple sample to make this reply shorter).
    @Entity
    @Table(name = "PERSON")
    public class Person implements Serializable {
         @Column(name = "NAME")
         private String name;
    // … constructor, getter, setter, etc. not listed here
    }The whole issue of the design of JPA is, that such entity beans represent the mapping between the object model and the DB model, the mapping is expressed with annotations.
    Okay, now let’s assume you write a query in Query Language, e.g.
    String sql = “select p from Person p where name = :name”;“name” is the name of the field variable, “:name” is the parameter you later set with “Query.setParameter” method.
    What is not so nice is the fact, that you use the name of the class and the name of the field variables “hardcoded” to construct the query. Now you could think that basically this information is part of your entity class. First you start with the name of the class (i.e. the table name) to decouple this “hardcoding”.
    You could write instead:
    String sql = “select p from “ + Person.class.getSimpleName() + “ p where name = :name”;This is really nice, because whenever you change the name of your Person class, this change happens automatically for the sql statement as well.
    I think the next thoughts are obvious, now, since you have decoupled the “hardcoded” part of the name of the class, you would like to do the same for the names of the field variables. But now you are stuck, there is no way to do this using a similar technique like for the name of the class. Either you stay with the query as it is now, or, to make it a little bit better, you code string constants for the field variables and use them. This issue brought me to the point that I think it would be nice to have the possibility to get the name of a field variable in a similar way as you can get it for the name of the class.
    Conceptually it is just to go one level deeper, i.e.
    first level is to get the name of a class
    second level is to get the name of the field variable of a class.
    Another sample would be, if you want to code something by using reflection. You have perfectly access to the reflection API starting at the class level like Person.class.allTheNiceReflectionMethods. There is no need to specify the class first with a string constant first, you directly start with the class, you can even be generic and just work on the Class.class level and still have access to all these nice methods to get out the information you need.
    But if you need to start with a very specific field variable (like in the sample above), you must go by using a string constant like Person.class.getDeclaredField(“name”).
    So basically I think that there exist already millions of lines of Java code where a field variable is specified for further processing, especially in combination with the reflection functionality and everywhere the field variables are specified by these string constants in double quotes. I would assume, that everyone has the same problem, once changing the name of the field variable means to take care that also the content of the string which specifies the name of the field variable is changed.
    I am wondering why one of the replies commented, why the name of a field variable is changed, it sounds to me that this is something which basically never happens. I don’t know, I think that this happens actually quite often and thanks to all these nice IDEs and their “rename” feature this is usually no problem. From time to time names of classes change, name of field change, yes, they are often even completely rewritten, new field variables come in some are deleted, whatever it is. The way I currently can access the name of a class makes the code safer, because when I consequently go with Class.class.getSimpleName I always know, that when I rename the class all these statements are changed too If I delete such a class, I at least get a compile error.
    My very simple issues is, that I think it would be nice to have the same comfort not only on a class level but also on the level of field variables, nothing more, nothing less.
    To be honest, I have not browsed the forum yet if such an issue was already raised by other people (I will do this now), but somehow it is hard to imagine, that I am the first one.
    Best regards.

    execute OMSR,
    position on field MARA-WRKST
    click the button field selection  right of selection group
    you will now see which fields are assigned to the group
    and below you see in in which field reference the group is set to hidden.
    field reference is a multi usage, it can be for material type, for transaction, for industry .
    so you have to check at least the settings for your material, for the transaction where you get this effect and for the industry you material is created with.
    further there is a customizing transaction OMSA, which is plant specific field selection, and I guess that causes your effect.
    open it and see which selection group is assigned to it.
    then go back to OMSR and see what status is assigned to this field reference.

  • Business Partner Role Specific Field View in WebClient

    Hello to everyone,
    I have a question that really needs a answer.  We are upgrading from SAP CRM v4 to SAP CRM v7.0 and as such we have a number of custom Business Partner Roles within the Person BP Type.  Against these custom roles we have developed custom field and tabs in order to separate the content within the BP Role further.
    After rolling off an implementation of SAP CRM v6.0 [2007], the following seems apparent:
    - Assignment of Roles is done via an assignment block in the Customer Maintenance view.
    - You can create Business Partners in different roles initially.
    - You cannot maintain Business Partner details in specific roles
    However, you cannot display the role specific fields as you can in the WinClient.  As an example, a Citizen Role BP will have different fields to that of a Teacher, but these roles could be assigned to one Business Partner.
    There does not seem to be any guidance as to how this is managed in the WebClient and as it seems a fundamental part fo the SAP CRM offering, you would have thought that this questions has been asked, but I have found no answers.
    I really hope anyone can help and appreciate any time and effort put into solving my question.
    Many Thanks,
    MatFlat.

    Hi MatFlat,
    Yes, your observation is right - in the Web UI, fiel grouping is not implemented for roles. This is because the role concept is quite different between SAP Gui and Web UI.
    In SAP gui, (CRM 4.0) roles had a functional meaning as well as a UI control. However, the concept was changed with Web UI. Now, roles have only a functional meaning, and no effect on the UI at all.
    If you want to implement role based field grouping in Web UI, you need to define your own methods in the implementation class.
    E.g : you can write code to influence the field properties based on the roles. I guess you can redefine the DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT  methods of the impl class.
    In order to get info about which roles the BP is maintained , you can use FM BUPA_ROLES_GET_2.
    Hope this helps you.
    Cheers,
    Rishu.

  • Returning only records that have no entry in a specific field

    Hello,
    I'm new to this forum and relatively new to Crystal Reports, so I apologize if this information is "plain as day" somewhere.  I've been hunting for this info for quite a while and can't find anything that makes sense!
    I am trying to put together a very simple report that will return only records where a certain field is blank.
    It is an Access database, in an information management program specific to our type of business.  CR 11 software was included with the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), as the reports generated from the LIMS software are in CR.  I've learned enough to be able to tweak reports and make some basic reports, but I can't find a simple answer to what I think is a simple question!
    I have the report set up to access the following fields in the database:  Invoice number, Client name, Due date, Invoice amount, and Payment Received.  This will be used as a "cross check" - not as any major accounting tool - as the Payment Received field is simply the date that the payment was received.  If no payment has been received, the field is left blank.
    I want the report to return ONLY those records where that field is blank (i. e. a list of invoices/clients whose payment has not yet been received).
    Ideally, I would also like to be able to return only those records where that field is blank OR within a certain date range (i. e. less than 30 days from the date that the report is run).  However, we'll probably only use this report a couple of times a month, so that is not as critical.
    I know I need to filter the records according to the Payment Received field, but don't know how to construct a formula that says "just show the fields where there is nothing entered."
    Thank you!
    Brenda

    This is the hardest function to find:  IsNull
    If isNull(field) then
        //  if the above fails on a numberic field or text field then see the following two-some databases are picky.
    If IsNull(field) or field=0 then  //this one maybe needed for a numeric field
    If IsNull(field) or field=""    //  this one maybe needed for a text field
    if IsNull(field) or field=<value>
    or
    if IsNull(field) or field like <value*>
    You always want the IsNull statement to be the first statement, and it is especially usefull when testing for not equal
    If IsNull(field) or field <>  <value>

  • JSF Table StyleClass issue for a specific Field inside the Table

    Hi There,
    Am having an issue of dynamically setting the styleClass for a specific field inside a DataTable. Here is how the JSF code is ..
    <h:column>
    <h:panelGrid id="column4" columns="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <h:inputText id="numberOfApps" value="#{row.submitNumber}" styleClass="#{row.customStyleClass}" maxlength="6" converter="MyNumberConverter" />
    </h:panelGrid>
    </h:column>
    This Table has a specific column which has a input Text Box where user enter's data. This data will be validated in the bean where in after the validation if its exceeding a limit we should throw an error message and also highlight the field with a specific styleClass.
    I am setting the StyleClass dynamically based on the User Input, so that I can display a highlited Error Field on the screen. Strangely enough, styleclass is getting set as expected for the first submit but doesnt show any styles for further submits. Even the existing style is getting removed from the second submit onwards. I am setting this "customStleClass" dynamic parameter as a Bean Property. Am sure these values are properly set coz to make sure I have put an h:output tag inside that table to display the customStyleClass values and they are getting set as expected but I see blank value for the class="" in the source of the Page.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    One option is you find the data element of that field GUID.
    Now go to SE11 transaction and in data type put that data element and press where used list. In that select tables.
    This will give you a list of tables where that field is used.
    But again if there are lots of them it will be difficult to find.
    The only option in that case is debug the extractor and find out.

We are using enhancement:  /SAPAPO/RRP_IO_COL, method: RRP_USEX_COLS_FILL_01 and RRP_USEX_COLS_GET_TEXT_01 to display an additional field 'Original delivery date' in /sapapo/rrp3 - elements view. This field is restricted to Purchase requisition (Order category: AG) only. We are planning to populate the additional data 'Original delivery date' in this customer specific field and store it in table: /SAPAPO/ORDFLDS at the time of PR creation.
    2. Table: /SAPAPO/ORDFLDS is appended with the 'customer specific field'.
    3. We couldnt find a document on how the data can be populated in table /SAPAPO/ORDFLDS.
    4. How to polulate the live cache data in the table  '/APAPO/ORDFLDS' ? ( i.e using connection parameter )?
    Appreciate if you can throw me some light on this.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
    I donno much about srting in XSLT but i can give you one example on that.
    Example :
    This is how to sort numbers in xslt.
    Try this :
    <xsl:for-each select="learn[@kind='done']">
         <xsl:sort select="number(@rank)" data-type="number"/>
         <table border="00" cellpadding="3" width="100%">
                   <tr>
                        <td width="100" valign="top" align="right"><input type="checkbox" checked="checked" readonly="readonly"/></td>
                        <td width="10" valign="top" align="right"><xsl:value-of select="position()"/>. </td>
                        <td valign="top">
                             [<xsl:value-of select="@rank"/>] <xsl:value-of select="@title"/>
                        </td>
                   </tr>
         </table>
         <table border="00" cellpadding="3" width="100%">
                   <tr>
                        <td width="100"> </td>
                        <td valign="top">
                             <xsl:apply-templates/>
                        </td>
                   </tr>
         </table>
