Some things not visible

Has anyone else noticed that Snow Leopard occasionally stops displaying some things?
2 examples: I started to open System Preferences, realized I did not want that, so I force quit before it opened. I look up at the Menu Bar, it has the apple icon, and nothing else until the Icons on the right hand. I was able to click on where Finder should be, and it appeared, and by moving the mouse over the location of the other menu options, they appeared.
I don't know the circumstances around this one, as it was a few days ago, but I clicked on a file, and instead of the normal blue highlighted file name, the file name disappeared.
Neither of these are big deals, but I was wondering if anyone had experienced them or had fixed this?
I am on a 2.4 GHz Macbook C2D 2 GB ram, build 10B504 originally shipped with 10.5

You should never use force quit for convenience. Force quitting an application can, in the right circumstances, cause damage to that application or its data files. If you launch an application by mistake, wait for it to open and then quit it the usual way.
That doesn't solve the issue of the visual glitches you're seeing, though. I haven't seen anything like that, so I can't help you there.

I can not see some parts of web pages, some things are visible others not.

In my mail program most of everything is viewable but the different styles that are available to use above the body of the message are not able to be seen. I can run my mouse over the different spots in the cell to see what that space is but you cant see it. On some web pages that I shop on all the details are available but the buy now button may be doubled and overlapped or just not visible. If I scroll with my mouse over the open areas I can usually find it but not see it. The screen also looks very bright, I've tried to change the colors to try to get the missing data to show but it's been no help. Oh, even now the button to submit this is not visible and the troubleshoot information box is only visible when scrolling over it. Thanks for any help

Internet Explorer on imac M5521 some pages not visible

Help ... I just bought a used imac M5521 ... it works perfect except when I try to go some pages on the internet they are huge! but other pages are just fine .. i don't know how to fix this and i'm not sure about using IE on a mac anyway ... how can change my browser to safari or firefox? the apple page is not visible on my imac ... any suggestions????

There is no Safari or Firefox for Mac OS 9.

Some pictures not visible in iphoto09library unless i double click on them

Ever since I loaded iphoto 09, my iphoto library is there but several pictures are not visible in the library and only a blank frame is visible. When I double click it, I see the picture but it is still not seen in the library. Other pictures are fine. Confused

Sharing files between Macs: some files not visible

I've had a PowerBook G4 for a few years now, just recently got a new MacBook Pro (very cool machine!).
Don't want to use Migration Assistant as the versions of Mac OS X are so different, also have had a problem with corrupted iPhoto database. I just want to copy over my iTunes database so I can sync my iPod, also some general private files.
I tried to mount the old mac to the new mac using Firewire, also tried sharing via AFP. That works, I see an icon for the old mac appearing on the desktop of the new mac. But not all the files on the old mac are visible. In particular, I don't see any of the folders under the Music folder when I look at it mounted on the new mac; from the old mac, I can see there are iTunes and GarageBand folders under Music. These subfolders just don't show up when I look at the old mac's mount on the new mac.
"Personal File Sharing" is enabled under Sharing/Services, and it's allowed under Sharing/Firewall. I tried setting protections from Terminal to allow "group" and "other" read and execute permission, didn't help.
Anyone else had this problem? What do you think is wrong?

OK, found the problem. I opened the icon for the mounted disk, and tried to click on the user folder in the side bar, but that led me to the user folder on my New computer. To get to the User folder on the old computer, I had to start in the "Macintosh HD" folder there and then drill down through the "Users" folder.

Some photos not visible in Windows Explorer

Dear All,
I have a problem when using an iPhone 5s with iOS 8.1.1 together with Windows 8.
The iPhone connect well, I can browse most of the photos from Windows Explorer, but some newer pictures are simply missing. So I see the majority of photos taken, but some are simply missing. Has anyone already encountered this? I have tried rebooting the phone and the PC, with no result.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Some subforums not visible when not logged in

I noticed the other day that some subforums are only visible when I'm logged in, for example, the offtopic forum. Is this intentional?

I can't get to some rows and numbers, I can get to them with my cursor, but I can't see the rows in the view.

Some bookmarks not visible

When I expand my bookmarks from the icon in the Awsome Bar some bookmarks are missing. However, if I open the Bookmarks Sidebar with CTRL + B the bookmarks are there. I'm on Windows 7 x64.
Just in case my description of the problem is inadequate I've attached a screenshot.
Can anyone explain what is causing this and how to solve the problem?

You're right about the bookmark that has no icon. I did'n't think it was a related issue but I can't seem to get that bookmark to work. When I check its properties everything is blank. I can't edit its properties either or at least I can't choose the folder to save it in. Also, when I try to save the other information in its properties they ''appear'' to be saved but next time I access its properties it's blank again.
Based on your hunch that that bookmark is causing a problem, I dragged all the other bookmarks above it ''and now those above that problematic bookmark is accessible from the Awesome Bar!!'' This seems to prove that the problem is cause by this particular bookmark. I have tried to delete this bookmark (from the Bookmarks Sidebar off course) and it won't delete!!
Also, I started Firefox with all addons disabled and it didn't make a difference. And No, no other bookmarks are affected, or at least I haven't noticed any others like this.
Any other ideas? And please don't ask me to do a reset. I'm using a borrowed computer temporarily (mines is on the bum) and really don't want to go through all of that.

In ALV the columns not visible, shows

Hi experts!
I have a problem, my WD show an ALV, which has some columns not visible, but the column is shown!!! And i don't know what happen. I set in WDDOINIT method which columns a want see and that set is OK. I have two WD Applications.When a fire one, in the browser i see the selected columns, that's ok. But when a fire the other one, i see all columns.
Can you help me please?

Hi,
Rather writing it in the WDODINIT, write that piece of code in Component controller and call the same method in the
Inbound pulgs handlers of the respective view.
When you are in the same session. WDOINIT is called only once. To avoid this write it in handlers.

XML News html editor not visible

Hi,
As a part of XML News we have created an html editor along with other labels,text field etc.The problem now is this editor is not visible while creating the News using News Editor Role.Can you help?

Forms availability are eanabled already.If we are opening the News form all other fields (like button,text fields etc) are visible but the only thing not visible is the component hml editor where the Editor has to write News,I hope you understand this.Even though that is present in the form template under XML bulder.

After 10.6.4 update, some audio not going through

After the 10.6.4 update I've been having trouble with some audio not going through the USB headset.
Things that refuse to go through the headset:
* Empty trash noises
* Skype notification noises
* iChat alert noises
Things that are working:
* Coloquy
* iTunes
I've tried toggling the System Preferences obviously. Unplugging speakers and USB headset and plugging back in a number of times (this seemed to fix some things, not others).
Anyone else having the same issue?
(Note to forum mods: you need to add 10.6.4 to your OS dropdown)

Some UI Elements not visible to Users

Hi Experts,
We are facing some weird issue in Web Dynpro applications on Enterprise Portal.
Some UI elements are not visible to users on screen for no apparent reason.
However to other users, same UI elements in same application are visible & rendered properly.
This is happening specially in case of Table Pop In.
I've tried many things like using different machine, clear browser Temp files etc... but nothing helped.
is it like that EP is not able to render some of the UI element properly ?
Please help.

Some Media Card folders within 'documents' folder not visible in Windows XP Pro SP3

I have tried renaming these folders on the device (eliminating '.'s and generally shortening the folder names) and then connecting to a Windows machine again afterwards, however, I have two problematic folders (within the 'documents' folder) that are still not visible in Windows.
One thing that is kind of troubling is that I thought I noticed that when I was moving files out of the 'documents' root directory (only place I can put files from the Windows machine [while connected] because I can't see the target folders in Windows) on the device to one of the problematic folders (again, because I cannot accomplish this in Windows), the original full-length folder name was still being referenced in the path displayed in the intermediate confirmation dialog.
Does it matter whether the folders are created within the (connected to) Windows environment or done on the device? Are there folder name length considerations or illegal characters?
I have created (in the Windows environment, while connected) some rather long folder names (including ''' & '.' characters) within the 'pictures' directory and have no trouble seeing them later in Windows.
What could be going on here?

Thanks for that 'sberman' - because my iPhone is backed-up to my work computer (only at this stage) I have had to call our IT Department in Adleaide. (4 times this morning). The last guy managed to get the phone into 'DFU Mode' - no more recovery mode screen - (kind of 'asleep' perhaps) from my understanding of same. I am awaiting a call again from IT so they can get my computer to actually recognise my iPhone on the C Drive. This also happened to one of my colleagues in Newman (WA). She got so frustrated with the whole process that she bought another phone the next time she was in 'civilisation.' She hasn't had any problems since. (Cross fingers).
