Some trusted certificate could not be installed , oracle wallet manager

Hi there,
I am using Oracle Wallet Manager 10.2.0.1
Oracle DB 10.2
when I try to import a certificate I have exported from the browser, I have such error,
that certificate is not something globally known, but it is for local communication,
as I understood that when I specify to import trusted certificate, that does not matter , does it?
please that I have successfully imported another "known" certificate exported with the same way,
what can the reason of such an error,
thanks in advance
rgrds

The problem was in the certificate itself.
Regards.

  • Using a SHA2 certificate with 12.1.1 (Oracle Wallet Manager 10.1.0.5)

    Hi folks,
I'm trying to enable SSL on my 12.1.1 system, but I've got a bit of a problem.
I've already logged a SR on this, so I already know that you cannot use SHA2 SSL certificates with Oracle Wallet Manager 10.1.0.5, which is part of the 10.1.3 tech stack. I started the SR on the EBS side, but it was passed on to the security group, and closed there. My question is, is there something that I don't know? Is there an upgrade path in 12.1.x that would include an upgrade to the OWM, or is there some sort of workaround? I'll be opening another SR tomorrow, but wanted to see if I was missing something simple.
We have an internal certificate server (Microsoft AD), and the root certificate, which I need to import, is SHA2. I'm being told that they cannot generate a SHA1 root certificate, and would have to stand up another certificate authority. OWM 10.1.0.5 can't handle SHA2, so I'm stuck.
    Anybody been there done that?
    Thanks very much,

I am not sure if SHA2 is certified with EBS R12 so you might need to ask this question to Oracle Support. According to the following docs, SHA1 can be used with no issues.

  • Problem import trusted certificate with oracle wallet manager

    hi people
    db version 10.2.0.4
    owm version 10.2.0.4
    os version windows server 2003
    the first thing i've tried
is to import a certificate which was created with selfssl (contained in the mircosoft iss resource kit)
    but its not working
i get the following failure "Some trusted certificates could not be installed"
i've checked the metalink and found this
[WALLET MANAGER FAILS TO IMPORT MS IIS GENERATED CERT|https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:15:3132180381448029652::::p15_database_id,p15_docid,p15_show_header,p15_show_help,p15_black_frame,p15_font:BUG,6815320,1,1,1,helvetica]
i've tried it with an openssl generated certificate
no problems with importing this as trusted certificate
    so my question
exists a general problem with certificates which were created with iis services?

Hi, I am having the same issue with the certificate. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
    Thank You!

  • Upgrading Oracle Wallet Manager

I am currently running Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.3 on a Windows Server 2203 R2 box. We are being forced to migrate our SHA1 SSL certificates to SHA256. However, when I attempt to import the certs into Oracle Wallet Manager 10.1.0.5, I get an error saying "Some trusted certificates could not be installed". I believe that Oracle Wallet Manager 11.2.0.1 supports SHA256 certs. Is there a way for me to upgrade JUST Oracle Wallet Manager without doing a full Application Server upgrade to Fusion Middleware 11g?

    Dear sir,
I have the same problem with my Oracle Application Server 10.1.4.2.
    Is there a solution?
    Thank You

  • Oracle Wallet Manager - Verisign root CA

Has anyone imported the trusted root CA certificate from Verisign into the Oracle Wallet Manager. I cannot seem to get that certificate in the format that I need. Any comments would be appreciated. I believe that OWM requires certificates in text format (IE Begin Certificate.....End Certificate) in order to import.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hello Matt:
Im not quite sure where your problem with OID is. Storing X-509 certificates from CA's like Verisign into OID is usually quite easy. Are you trying to store your certificates in OID or some other repository? Can you tell me the step number in the admin guide where you are encountering trouble?
    Thanks,

  • Oracle Wallet Manager

Hi I have a server.key , a server.cer and server-ca.crt. I need to import these using oracle wallet manager. How do I do that?

    hi,
The installation consists of three main parts:
    a) Importing the Primary Root CA
    b) Import the Intermediate Certificate and Cross Certificate
    c) Installing your SSL123 certificate
    a) Importing the Primary Root CA
    1. Get a copy of the root certificate
    2. Launch Oracle Wallet Manager.
    3. Click Operations and select Import Trust Certificates from the menu
    4. When the Import Trusted Certificate window appears, click Paste the Certificate and click OK.
    5. When the message "Please provide a base64 format certificate and paste it below" appears, paste the entire contents of Primary Root CA text into the box and click OK.
    6. A message should appear that the import was successful and you will see the Root Certificate at the bottom of the Trusted Certificates tree.
    b) Importing the Intermediate and Cross certificates
    1. Launch the Oracle Wallet Manager.
    2. Click Operations > Import Trust Certificates from the menu.
    3. When the Import Trusted Certificate window appears, click Paste the Certificate and click OK.
    4. When the message "Please provide a base64 format certificate and paste it below" appears, paste the entire contents of the Intermediate Certificate text into the box and click OK.
    5. A message should appear that the import was successful and you will see the Intermediate Certificate at the bottom of the Trusted Certificates tree.
    6. Repeat the same steps for the Cross certificate
    c) Importing your SSL123 certificate
    1. Click Operations > Import User Certificate from the menu bar.
    2. The Import Certificate dialog appears.
    3. Select the Paste the Certificate radio button, and click OK.
    4. The Import Certificate dialog appears.
    5. Paste the entire contents of your SSL123 Certificate file and click OK.
    6. A message should show that the certificate was imported successfully.
    7. When you return to the main window, wallet status should show "Ready."
    Hope this will help you,
    Regards
    Fabian

  • Acrobat v10x CS6 Installation: "Some items could not be installed and then Error 1301

Brand new MacBook Pro Retina 16GB, 512SSD, Mountain Lion.
I successfully installed all apps in CS6 Web and Design Premium EXCEPT... I had a warning on Acrobat install: "Some items could not be installed properly".
However, Acrobat 10.0.0 launches and runs fine. Then, I try to move on and upgrade to 10.1.4 (or even 10.0.1) and no matter whether I uninstall and reinstall, repair disk permissions, talk to Adobe support for four times now and let them try everything, I'm still getting Error 1301 "The update could not be applied because Adobe Acrobat application contents were modified since the original installation. I had them send me a hard copy of the CS6 Suite and reinstalled the entire suite. Again, ALL other apps run and upgrade perfectly EXCEPT Acrobat.
Now, support tells me to use the "Run Repair Acrobat Installation to replace missing files." from this advisory and call them back later (file:///Users/mbp/Desktop/extras/maccomputers/Errors%20and%20freezes%20%7C%20Adobe%20Rea der%20%7C%20Mac%20OS.webarchive).
Here's the latest hitch: There is no such:  "Repair Acrobat Installation". I'm thinking they think there is and there isn't.
    Also, in details this:

Any wisdom out there which is not in the "experimental" arena would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Thanks for the advice. Tried this and does not work. Exact same results. I really wonder if I am the only person with a MacBook Pro Retina with an 512GB SSD running Mountain Lion that has tried to install Acrobat 10.0.0. I think there is some conflict with Mac OS 10.8.2 that is hostile to the installation sequence Adobe created for Acrobat. I fear Adobe would rather I upgrade to Acrobat X1 than spend their time patching this.

  • ITunes could not be installed because some of the files are missing, please

I just bought an Iphone and when I went to install the latest version of itunes i get the message "iTunes could not be installed because some of the files are missing, please reistall iTunes" during the installation. I have tried every recommended solution I could find on the apple website. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem??

A number of people seem to have had this problem, see this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1221432&tstart=0
In the thread you will find a post from Royb of Apple inviting people to send in installer logs. It might be an idea to take advantage of that.

The profile “Device Enrollment (com.apple.ota."my-server-name-".private.bootstrap)” could not be installed due to an unexpected error.
My devices site is running properly, I can install Profiles but I cannot install any device, not even the mini I installed OSX Lion Server upon!

So I just wasted half of a day on this, and at least for my own system I figured it out *without* doing a clean install.
    1. First, check that you have opened the ports as suggested by others here.
    2. If you've done that, then the problem may be a rogue entry in your DNS server setting.  What that means is if you initially set up your server app with one name, then later switched it to a new one, the old name is still "hanging around" causing havoc.  This was the problem.  To fix, you can try the steps below. WARNING: this will wipe your open directory. Make a full backup!  I'm not 100% sure that wiping your OD is necessary, but it worked for me.  Turn off any services you're running.
    3. Download the 10.7 server admin tools here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1419
    4. Open up the WorkGroup manager, and select any network users you've created, then export them.  You're backing them up because you're going to wipe your open directory.
    5. Open Server Admin.app. Click on the reveal triangle for your server, and it will show an entry for "Open Directory". Click on that.
    6. Click on the Settings gear in the top of the right panel.
    7. Where it says Role: Open Directory Master, hit Change....
    8. In the panel that pops up, hit "set up a standalone directory".  It will warn you that it's going to wipe your server open directory data.
    9. Now, on the left side of the same screen, select DNS, then hit the "zones" button on top.
    10. Look for your old host name(s) there.  Select any extra entries that have your old host names, and remove. DO NOT REMOVE your current name entry (the Primary Zone) or the reverse entry (Reverse Zone).  If you remove those, you'll be totally hosed. Only remove redundant entries.
    11. Back in the Server.app, go to the menu and select Manage -> Manage Network Accounts.  It will ask you for some information as it sets up open directory again for you.  Give it what it needs.
    12. To re-import your saved account info, go to Manage -> Import Accounts From File. (I have not tried this step, but it *should* work. YMMV).
    13. Now, go reactivate your profile manager, turn on device management.  It should "think" for a bit while it churns through the new open directory data.
    14. Now, it should work!!! (at least it does for me).  I speculate that the name lookup was getting conflicting results from DNS, causing problems and confusion.  This seems to have fixed it.
    15. If that doesn't work, one other step I took (but it didn't seem to help by itself) was to wipe the device manager database.  To do that, open a terminal and use
    sudo /usr/share/devicemgr/backend/wipeDB.sh
WARNING: this will wipe any device info that you've set up.  I don't think this is necessary, but might be used as a last ditch effort.
    Hope that helps!

hi, you should not do nothing with user root.
please, don't use root again for weblogic administration.
list all files with root permissions:
move to Middleware Home, example: cd /u01/app/oracle/Middleware
    find . -user root
if there are files with root permissions, change it to oracle:oinstall
