Some Web Sites Will Not Load Up and Some Will Load Correctly

I have not been able to load up mypoints.com and manybooks.net in a week. Also Amazon loads up crazy with a lot of boxes on the top and side with writing in the background of the boxes. I have loaded up Amazon on Google Chrome and IE and it works fine.

Eric - thanks for your help.
I have finally fixed the problem.  In network preferences, I set the DNS settings to 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
I initially only set these for the Airport, but then noticed that these were different to the ones for the ethernet; once I set the same values for the ethernet all sites gained instant access again.

James

Recent iOS update has made my iPad 2 unusable. The screen locks up. It's very laggy and web pages do not load correctly.  Is there a fix for this or are they even working on a fix.

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • Sites do not load correctly

I'm having a problem where internet sites are not loading correctly. They will sometimes not show background images, or the formatting of the pages do not load right. They load all links at the left side of the page, and pictures too. I only have problems with this on my work computer, and not my home one. If I load a site, the first or second try it may not load right. I close the browser, delete the cookies and cache, and SOMETIMES it will load the website correctly. This happens for Yahoo.com, Ebay, Wal-Mart and other sites as well.
I have also deleted Mozilla Firefox from my computer, and deleted all memorized info on my computer for it. That has also not helped.
== URL of affected sites ==
    http://yahoo.com; ebay.com; walmart.com;

"Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Clearing_the_cache and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Cookies
You can also try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window - See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resetting_preferences
You can create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems
See [[Basic Troubleshooting|#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox

  • Mozilla Addons site does not load correctly in IE - impala-min.js

It seems that the Mozilla Addons website does not load correctly any more in IE and the errors below are generated on XP (IE8), Windows 7 (IE9) and Windows 8 (IE10). It seems to be a JavaScript error from the messages from webpage error popup.
Browsing any addon specific page (NoScript, Menu Editor, Flashblock, etc) all seem to hang with the
'loading-more.gif' graphic showing constantly and none of the lower tabs (Version Information, etc) will open to show information.
I know technically this isn't a Firefox issue but I use IE to check version compatibility of addons before loading in Firefox. Perverse I know but hey it works, or used to until very recently.

This wasn't a question about loading Firefox extensions in IE which would not have a clue about the contents of the .XPI file.
This was about an error on the addons page which seems to stop ANY of the pages from showing details of the extension such as user reviews, developer feedback and version history...
Viewing from Firefox they just show as compatible and versions over 3.6 but from IE you could see what versions the extension was compatible with, ie 9 thru 15 which is far more helpful when deciding which to deploy in a workplace.
Have tried this on four different machines with the same outcome for viewing in IE!

  • Some web sites do not load as they did with full html and so on.

AS of yesterday certain web sites I regularly visit stopped having full html, at least I think that is how to describe it--no video screens, no web page designs. Those affected are buffalostate.edu and democracynow.org. No such problem in Explorer. Other web sites seem OK.

  • A specific web site does not load properly. I have looked through java help, firewall help and have not found a solution.

The web site www.everbank.com has been updated. It has a 3 panel display in the top half that rotates through the three offerings and you can pause it if you wish. It does not display on Firefox. I am using 19.0.2 and it says it is up to date. Everbank has looked into and it displays correctly for them and it displays correctly for me on IE9. I inadvertantly have the beta version of Mozilla (19.2) on my desktop and the web page displays correctly there. I have cleared the cache, looked at firewall settings (Windows 7) and have added Mozilla. Nothing has helped.

It works for me as long as JavaScript is enabled. If it's not enabled, I get a jumble of text as the 3 slides are superimposed on one another. Do you just get a blank area?
Since you cleared your cache, out of data pages, style sheet, and scripts shouldn't be a factor. Could you also clear your cookies for the site? While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Remove the everbank cookies individually there, then try reloading the page. Does that make any difference?
When you compared with the beta version of Firefox, were you running with the identical settings folder, i.e., same bookmarks, settings, and add-ons? I'm guessing there might be a difference.
To check for potential add-on conflicts, try disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions here, then restart Firefox:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
    Any luck?

  • Pages on Adobe Web Site Do Not Load

This might be more properly an OS X issue, since Firefox behavior is the similar.
Certain pages at the Adobe web site simply don't load on my browser. Plug-ins are enabled in preferences, and I turned off pop-up blocker just to see if that made a difference, it didn't work.
There are some pages that never load - the Creative Suite and InDesign product pages
    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/
for example. (Note: on Firefox the page above would not load, but his page:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/indesign/whatisindesign/
    seemed to work fine).
Sometimes (on Safari just now), even the main product page
    http://www.adobe.com/products/
would not load (when it had been loading).
This is since the 5.0.4 and 10.6.7. updates (I don't visit the Adobe sites regularly but was contemplating a purchase of Creative Suite).
    Anybody else having these issues?

    Hi,
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies.
    Delete all Adobe related cookies.
Restart Safari and try the Adobe site.
If you still have problems, from the menu bar again click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.
Restart Safari. Try again. If you still have problems, follow the instructions at this link to uninstall then reinstall the Flash plugin.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#ostype=m,prob1=fnctn,prob2=game,
    Then repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. *When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac*. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.

yeah I thought that as well but my roommate has a macbook air on the same network and his works fine on the same web pages... maybe Its no problem at all. I was just curious if this is normal because when I had a PC that did this it had a trojan horse virus effecting it and ultimately caused it to crash.

  • Webi Tool bar not loading correctly?

    BOXI31 SP3.0 Java 1.6
Strange bahaviour....  when users go to edit a report,  there tooll bars seem to freeze up...  on the tool bar,  there is a bunce of horizontal bars, almost like an accordian?? "  |||||||||| "
    anyone run into this...???

    Hi Michael,
I have not heard of that specific error, but I have had issues with some of the newer Java releases. Check to see if you are on a version of Java newer than 1.6.0_17. But then I am on SP2 not SP3, so that may not matter. Still, the issue sounds similar to some  I have come across when the Java version is not compatible.
I had upgraded my Java version without thinking it would matter and spent days trying to figure out what was wrong. Uninstalling the new version and reverting back to an older version was the only thing that fixed the problem.
    Thanks

  • Firefox tells me an offical Air Force web site is NOT safe. I have confirmed the correct link - but FF still said not to use. ??

I am trying to connect with the official Air Force link..gum-crm.csd.disa.mil
FF indicates that I would be in trouble if I continued to attempt to connect. I ask the AF for confirmation of the site and they confirmed what I have is GOOD.
    Thanks

I expect it has more to do with the military's encryption programming or security certificate. When you get the page that tells you it's unsecured try clicking on 'I understand the risks'. Under that is a button that says 'Add Exception' click on that. When the next dialog comes up it should have the URL in a box marked 'Location'. Next to that please click on 'Get Certificate'. Hopefully the Air Force has one you can retrieve in this manner. Make sure to check the box at the bottom that says 'Permanently store this exception' before you click on Confirm Security Exception. Best of luck!

  • Web page not loading correctly

This web page does not load correctly in Firefox but is okay in other browsers:
    http://forums.techguy.org/
    Can anyone help please?

Hi, I don't think it's important to understand the results, it does us no good, other than to know they've made a mistake when designing that page, perhaps just a minor one that affects several thing after that, and that some Browsers can handle or figure out that error.
A bit like I ask a browser to draw me a map of what's at 1st & James street, and there is no 1st & James, but there is a nearby 1st & Main street, & a 2nd & James, so one browser refuses to draw what's at 1st & James since there is nothing, another draws what's at 1st & Main street, & what's at 2nd & James, figuring that must be what's wanted.
Bottom line, someone caring for that site needs to fix the error, or you can use a browser that handles that problem.

  • Multiple websites do not load correctly, the page layout is messed up. This problem only happens in Firefox.

When I visit various websites using Firefox, currently using version 3.6.8, the sites do not load correctly. Many times images are not shown, instead of any theme the page appears as a long list like an index. It happens with a wide variety of websites. This only happens when I am using Firefox.
What can I do to correct this problem?

Does anyone have the answer on to resolve this issue?

  • Web sites will not fully load. MSNBC, Fox and CNN load a partial page or load a text only version. this issue just started about a week ago.

Some news web sites will not fully load. MSNBC will only show the head line and advertisers. CNN and Fox show a text only version with very limited pictures and the same for . Durdge report loads fully as will the Chicago Trib. seems like only certain news sites are subject to this partial display. have not seen this on commercial sites.

    Try deleting cookies and cache:
    1. Tools| Clear recent history
    2. Time range to clear: Everything
    3. If it isn't already selected, select '''Cookies''' and '''Cache'''
    4. '''Clear now'''
    Test for the problem

Since latest Firefox update, other web sites will load but Netflix will not. Netflix will load in Internet Explorer.

Does it matter whether you use www? Will the sign-in link open: https://signup.netflix.com/#do-login
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    1. Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server. Any difference? If not...
    2. Clear Firefox's Cache Completely
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
    3. If needed, remove the site's cookies in this dialog
While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
