Some websites I NEED report Adobe reader not installed and will not work.

websites i use test for Reader, if not found they will not allow login. i am dead in the water.

There is no browser plugin for Adobe Reader for any mobile browser. http://www.adobe.com would be responsible for developing that.

  • Can I still download Adobe 9 Pro Extended and will it work with Windows 8 64 bit?

    Can I still download Adobe 9 Pro Extended and will it work with Windows 8 64 bit?

    It is not clear what application you mean when you say Adobe 9 Pro Extended, so it ois not certain if it is available for you to download.  If you can diownload it, it will only be valid for a 30 day trial unless you already own it and have a serial number to activate the trial with.
    You can search the following site and see if you can find the trial version to download... this site is the only likely place you might find the software available for download.
    If you find it there, be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Adobe Reader not working right.

    Pdf forms in Adobe Reader are looking different than they used to. I also keep getting a message at the top which says "This pdf document might not be displayed correctly." But the biggest problem in documents that I was able to fill in information online previously are not working. In particular the tax form 941 which I need to send in!!! Help!
    This is in Adobe Reader X.

    It looks that you are currently using the build-in Firefox PDF reader and that build-in PDF reader can't be used to fill a PDF form, so you will have to make sure that the Adobe Reader is installed properly.
    You can try to disable this PDFjs reader and set the pdfjs.disabled to true on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    I'm not seeing the Abode Reader plugin in your system details list.
    Is that plugin disabled (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) ?
    Try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.
    Note that you are currently running a Firefox 19 beta version, no you may need to create a new profile or try the current Firefox 18.0.2 release.

  • Adobe Reader Not Working after OS 2 UPGRADE

    Hope someone can help with this issue.  Updated to OS 2, but now the Adobe Reader does not work.  Since this was a new device and the upgrade started automatically, I have no idea if Adobe Reader worked in the previous OS version - from the forums, it seem to work.  The shortcut icon is still there but when you click on it,  Adobe Reader opens but is non-functional.  Clicking on a PDF does nothing.  I then tried to uninstall it in My World in Blackberry World Apps.  In the Installed section, it shows Adobe Reader as being installed but I noticed that the Delete button was greyed out so I could not uninstall it for a reinstall.
    It was interesting to note that when I tried to find Adobe Reader in BB World Apps, there was no listing for Adobe Reader.
    Does anyone else have the same issue?  Hopefully there is a solution for this problem.  Is there another alternative app to Adobe Reader?  Thanks.

    Here is a quick test if to check if your Adobe Reader is currently working properly within its current confinement. Open the app and click on ‘Browse’.
    If you can browse around, the app is working properly. If you can’t, close Adobe and then open it once more and try to browse.
     If you still can’t browse it is time to ‘Restart’ your PB via the battery icon’s ‘Restart’ option.
    Once your PB’s main screen loaded again repeat the test. I am sure you can browse now but don’t open a file yet. We need a ‘known’ conforming PDF file.
    Now, this might be a bit of a surprise. Not all PDF files are created equally. Therefore, some PDF files can’t be opened by this Adobe Reader’s version without ‘hanging’ the app as indicated by ’not able to browse anymore’.
    Please, download a conforming PDF file like the manual for the Playbook and select ‘Download PDF’ from this BB site:
    http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/27018/index.jsp?name=User+Guide+-+BlackB...
    Now open Adobe and select the newly downloaded file: “BlackBerry_Playbook_Tablet_User_Guide—“and it should open all 86 pages. Scroll around. This 2nd test verifies that your Adobe Reader is working because this file was created to follow the Microsoft – Adobe agreed upon standard which the PB is following.
    So at this point in time we users have to except that some files are non-conforming and that Adobe Reader version 10.0.3 needs an update.  BTW, I couldn’t find Adobe’s security setting in my PB either (this is not a 'fix' for OS 2 users).
    Remember, Adobe cannot open files directly if you browse to your smartphone’s Adobe documents even so they might be ‘conforming’. You have to open these files first via File Manager (found on your main screen) so Adobe gets a trusted link which it stores in its hidden “Recent Document' folder. I guess, this link then allows Adobe to open conforming files which are stored in your smartphone the next time you open this linked  Adobef PDF file without the help of the File Manager.
    Your question: Is there another alternative app to Adobe Reader? Contributor sohrabza suggested to use an Android app called ‘Repligo’. I looked a bit into this and it is not yet a downloadable PB app unless you know how to a handle a bar file installation in your Playbook together with their Android version. They also make a Repligo version for the BB smartphone so they know RIM. I can’t believe cerience has not readied the Playbook App store download version to get my $4.99. Many users might want to choose this alternative PDF reader once it is available in the BB AppStore but their website does not give a hint if their app approval is pending with RIM.

  • Adobe Reader not working after update to version XI

    I have had Adbobe Reader installed on my PC for ages and have been using this to view my PDF files without any issues. However, Adobe Reader updated automatically to version XI a few days ago. Since then, I have been completely unable to open Adobe Reader at all. The screen does not load up fully with only the top menu bar visible and the remainder a blank grey screen with all menu options inactive or greyed out, and sometimes crashes and closes automatically after a few seconds. I am unable to view any PDF file, even those which I previous viewed with no issues. I have tried running the Adober Cleaner tool but this has not helped. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader numerous times with no success. I have also tried reinstalling previous versions of Adober Reader but have idential issues with these too. I have tried checking system compatability using the troubleshooter tool but this appears to be fine, and have also tried disactivating my AntiVirus/firewall software (Norton 360). I am running a Windows 7 operating system in English (UK). Any help gratefully received as Adobe will not offer telephone assistance as this is freeware! Thanks in advance.

    You may have given up by now..  I just hope this advice helps some other user..
    Have encountered this isssue several times..
    several points I will note: of the machines I have worked on to date: only 1 did not have malware, all thus far have been 64bit Win7 and it seems after update to Reader 11.03..
    but each so far I have:
    - Checked for and removed any malware and or strange BHO's and Toolbars
    - cleared all temp files including temporary internet
    - removed Adobe reader and ANY OTHER PDF READER and reinstalled Adobe reader
    - Checked that PDF's are associating with Adobe reader (sounds silly )
    - Started the PC in Safe Mode - check reader works
                                                 - Disabled Protected Mode in preferences: then disabled antivirus, along with most startup services and applications
                                                 - restarted in normal mode - Check PDF opens normally: 100% of time for me it worked
                                                 - re-enabled the anti-virus - restarted PC and rechecked
                                                 - re-enable services and applications by group - restart and retest
    So far that is all that I have needed to do.
    All the best

  • Flash Player And adobe reader not working and downloads don't work

    I have IE 8 and windows vista and everything has worked great for 2 years until 2 or 3 weeks ago.  At that time my flash player stopped working so I could no longer get videos , streaming stock quotes, weather map loops, etc and when I go to websites that use Flash (i.e. Piaaz Hut) it wouldn't work.  Also, at that same time my adobe reader stopped working properly and I can't view mosy PDF Files.
    I have gone through many of the posts on this forum and have tried many of the fixes, but none have work for me.
    I tried to uninstall the Flash Player, but I didn't use the Adobe uninstaller.
    Whenever I try to update or load the Flash player, a dialog box with the globe tossing papers to the folder appears and then after a few seconds I get the the message that IE can't install_flash_player_ax.exe from fp download.adobe.com, and then a message that says IE was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.
    In control panel programs I have listed
    Adobe AIR      no size
    Adobe Flash Player 10 active X           no size
    Adobe Reader 9.3     141mb
    Macromedia Shockwave player      no size
    In Tools i have the following add ons and they are all enabled
    Shockwave Flash object 10.0.42.34
    Adobe PDF Link Helper
    Adobe PDF Reader
    Macromedia Shockwave Active X Control 10.1
    As I said I've already attempted a number of the fixes on this forum, but so far no luck.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I might try?
    Thanks

    Ok, I tried to download the firefox browser but IE wouldn't let me download it.  My friend downloaded it from their computer to a flash drive and I loaded it to my computer from the flash drive.  The download of Firefox from the flash drive worked, and now I'm using Firefox & both my adobe flash player and my adobe reader are working just great.
    However, neither the flash player nor the reader are working if I use IE, so I guess I will just have to use Firefox as my browser.
    I'm going to mark my question as answered since I really don't care that I have to use Firefox instead of IE,although I can't understand why it works using Firefox but not using IE.
    Thank you so much for your assistance in walking me step-by-step through this problem until I was able to reach a satisfactory solution.

  • Printing using Adobe Reader not working

    I am using .NET to open .pdf file with "Print" option. This should print that .pdf file on default printer of the system. But in reality, when I run my program, it opens blank Adobe Reader window and just hangs there, no page gets printed. My C# code looks like following:
    Process process1 = new Process();
    process1.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = true;
    process1.StartInfo.Verb = "Print";
    process1.StartInfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Normal;
    process1.StartInfo.FileName = completeFileName;
    process1.Start();
    Above code could also be written in vbScript.
    Can anyone let me know why Acrobat Reader does not print any page?
    Thank you in advance.

    The paper trays are both 8" x 11". The top tray has checks, the bottom tray has plain paper. When I go to print, the print dialog defaults to the last saved setting which is supposed to use the lower tray, however when checking the setting it says upper tray. I have to switch to either another setting or to the Standard setting, then back to my saved setting in order for the paper tray to be set correctly on the lower tray. I would expect that whatever setting the saved setting has, it would change to the necessary settings and use it instead of using a default settings. I don't know if this is a bug in the OS X or the HP driver.
    For example. I go to print in Safari, the printer says OfficeJet 7140xi, the Preset setting says OfficeJet (Lower Tray). When I check Paper Type/Quality, the paper tray is set to Upper Tray. I switch the Preset to Standard and back to OfficeJet (Lower Tray) and check the Paper Type/Quality and now the paper tray is set to Lower Tray. So, initially, when the print dialog comes up, it ignores the Preset settings and defaults to some other settings and manually you have to switch the Preset to another setting and back again in order to get the correct settings.

  • Yuel Boyce - Adobe reader not working

    Hello,I am Yuel Boyce. I have windows 7 laptop. Adobe reader is not properly functioning on my laptop and mostly shows error when open file. I have no other options to read files as most of my files supported Adobe reader. Can someone suggest me appropriate method?
    Thanks
    Yuel Boyce

    Believe you need to remove and reinstall Acrobat Reader. Try installing the latest version XI. Each new version is supposed to be backwards compatible. Say the PDF was created by Acrobat 4 (which many people are still using). Reader should read it just fine.

  • Adobe reader not working

    I can not open adobe reader. Open in shows up, but nothing happens when I hit it.

    Reset your iPhone/iPad.
    Hold down the Home button and Sleep/Wake button at the same time. Keep holding, through the message Slide to Shut Down, until you see the Apple log. Then release your press.

  • Please help!! Adobe reader not working

    Hello,
    My Adobe Reader XI will not open all docs. It says (57) in the message. What can I do? I tried to uninstall all Adobe programs to start fresh but it keeps saying something about the "patch"?
    I'm doomed over here!!
    Thank you, Bill V

    Download and run the Adobe Cleaner to remove Reader completely. http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
    Then download the FULL installer to replace it. http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
    Open Reader and accept the EULA, and you should be "good to go".

  • Adobe Reader not working on my Mac with Yosemite upgrade

    Hello,
    since upgrading my Mac to Yosemite, I haven't been able to open Adobe Reader or any documents in Adobe Reader. I can't even upgrade Adobe reader as a message says it is not a supported file type or it has been damaged. Tried in different browsers too with no luck. It was working before the upgrade. Any ideas?
    Thanks KTE

    Hi Rave,
    thanks for the advise. Is Adobe Reader open when I have FINDER open as it comes up with that it can't move it to the trash because it is OPEN, it resides in FINDER in APPLICATIONS.  I can't move it to the desktop to then trash it....as it only creates a short cut.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks

    The article mentions IE10, but the issue is the same with IE11.

  • Why does Adobe Reader Not work in either Firefox or IE?

    Running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.  Adobe Reader X (latest version just downloaded March 2012) works fine with files saved locally.  But whenever a website tries to open up a pdf file I keep getting the error message:
    "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader.
    If it is running, please exit and try again.
    (1074724867.3)"
    I have tried numerous things posted on the web but I still keep getting the same error.

    I have the same or a very similar issue on WIn7 64bit
