Some websites like igoogle do not display compleatly

some websites (especially igoogle) do not display properly, or they take awhile to display. in igoogle I have the app youtube but it does not load for maybe 10 minutes,some websites have the mising search bar or side bar, I reinstalled Firefox and Disabled all my addons but nothing happens. I did notice that Firefox's error console had many error regarding google so I though I should list it and see if this is the problem

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

This issue can be caused by an old bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or (bitmap) fonts that Firefox can't display in that size.
Firefox can't display some old bitmap fonts in a larger size and displays gibberish instead.
You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.
Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or see if you can find a True type version that doesn't show the problem.

Some websites, like Amazon and Shutterstock show up completely garbled. I suspect problems with Javascript, and I'm pretty sure the issue started after I updated Java. I did all the troubleshooting tips listed on this site, and none helped. I booted Firefox without extensions and the problem prevailed. I don't know what else to do.

Hello riopeltravel, let's solve this mystery! What make & model phone do you have? Also, have you tried deleting the email account off of the phone and re-adding with the username and password? How long have the email accounts stopped working? Keep us posted!

I am not able to login to maxnewyork life insurance site while using firefox. I am using firefox 3.6.10 now. Combo boxes are not shown in the some trading websites. I uses noscript2.0.3.3, javaconsol6.0.21, javascript option 1.2.6 and WOT20100908. It creates feeling of inferiority in using Firefox due to these problems.

Several privacy/ tracking add-ons, not sure which one causes this (MAC): clicking certain thumbnail photos (like @ some catalogs), opening some websites (like The Week), and even a calendar at my bank, my computer stalls then freezes. Any ideas?

The stall is 30-60 sec, then a tiny window pops up. No words, but two buttons at the bottom - gray/white on the left, blue on the right. Clicking these does nothing.
I CAN move the cursor, but CAN'T change or close tabs or scroll. I CAN use the top apple bar, but when I select "Restart" I get a "Firefox has prevented shutdown" error msg.
All I can do is manually press the power button and shut down that way.

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. In some websites, the caracters are not clear and impossible to read when I scroll down. I have to pass my mouse over it to clear the caracters.

It started to do that about a year of 2 ago. So I started to use Chrome instead. This morning I'm using Firefox because I saw they upgraded and I thought it would not do that again, but the problem is the same.
I open a website la my Hotmail account. The caracters are clear at this moment. Then, I scroll down, and I cannot read some lines of caracters. And it seems like the problem is sporadic. I added NoSquint, and the problem is the same.

Some of Chinese character is not displaying correctly in PDF output

Hi all
I'm involved in the 1st Peoplesoft project in Korea and having a difficulty with displaying Chinese character in PDF output.
Usually Koreans can translate their name in Chinese and that Chinese name is displayed in personal information in their company as well as Korean name.
With Oracle BI Publisher I made rtf template that includes employees' Chinese name and tried to export to PDF output.
Most of Chinese character was fine but '李' character that was ok in HTM output was crashed in PDF output.
So I researched and tested some solutions.
Here's what I did.
I downloaded and installed five fonts(ALBANWTS.ttf, ALBANWTT.ttf, ALBANWT.ttf, ALBANWTK.ttf, ALBANWTJ.ttf) in client machine(c:\windows\fonts\) and did mapping job with xdo.cfg configuration file.
After that I previewed PDF output in the rtf template and checked embeded fonts in the PDF file.
I can see the newly installed font was embeded but still '李' character is crashed.
My problem is little bit different from others becuase only one Chinese character is crashed by for now.
The Chinese character '李' is very common last name in Korea and I believe Simplified Chinese character font have in it.
Please let me know if you have any solutions or experiance.

Some of my photos are not displayed in events. The event is there and still named but photos won't display. Suggestions?

Some of my photos are suddenly not showing inside the event. The event is still present as well as the title and number of photos in the event, but the photo is not showing. I get a black thumbnail with a dashed white box inside it. Any suggestions? It has not happened in all events, only a handful.

That's an indication that the link/file path to the original file has been broken. Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I'm using the beta and i can't submit feedback i get this when i try to Forbidden (403)
CSRF verification failed. Request aborted. when i go to www.justin.tv i have to refresh the chat for it to update and i have to refresh to see new messages and to see users in the userlist in firefox. and i didn't have this problem on older versions of firefox.

Firefox 3.6.x is the last to support a PII processor like that. Firefox 4.0 and above need a P4 processor or higher. <br />

Website body content does not display in IE9

I am designing a new website (http://jarrettrifles.com/Jarrett2012-website/index.html) using Dreamweaver CS6 with Ajatx Pure CSS menus. It displays fine in every browser (MAC or PC) except IE9 & IE10. It displays just fine in IE8, and it was displaying in IE9 until just yesterday.
Does anyone have a fix for this or can advise what code might be added to fix the problem.

Works fine here in Windows 7 IE9.
There are two tiny errors in the html (stray </p> and </a> tags) but they shouldn't break it.
Are you sure it isn't a caching issue?
In IE9, hit F12 then Ctrl + R then Yes and refresh the page.
