Some words garbled while converting webpage to pdf file

I have upgraded and installed Internet Explorer 9. Firstly, the webpagse cannot convert into pdf files. After reading the microsoft website and installed an updated printer driver for my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, the webpage can be converted into pdf file. However, there is some problem. Some of the words become garbled (while other words are normal) despite the correct normal words are shown on the print preview. I have tried to print out in hard copy and no garbled words. I suppose this is the Acrobat problem/issue. How should I fix this?
One minor problem too. The printing preferences has already set as "View Adobe PDF results", but the pdf file created does not pop up after successful conversion.

Not sure if all the issues with IE9 have been worked out yet. However, I would guess that you are not getting all of the fonts embedded in the PDF and they are not on your system. You can check with ctrl-D and select the font tab. If they are not embedded, that is likely the problem. In that case, go back to IE9 and print to the Adobe PDF printer with the press or print job settings. See if that gets the result you want. You can try PDF Maker later to see if things come out correctly. You can also try opening the web site directly in Acrobat.

We are having a problem converting webpages to pdf with Acrobat. Out website uses Iframes to view the website we are converting to pdf. When I right click on the webpage and click convert to pdf everything works fine. But the pdf that is created is only the header of the page not the content of the iframe I right clicked on. If you go to file and print to pdf it works fine we get the content of the iframe in the pdf and not the rest of the webpage. But the users prefer to right click. Is there some way to fix this so we can right click to convert to pdf?

I dont think acrobat can convert iframes to pdf (need to check). It can convert html, some javascript, images and swfs for example. Data driven pages, depending of the programming cant be converted too.

I just tried it, and was able to convert a Word .doc to to PDF, in spite of the fact that it was marked Read Only. Here are the instructions for uploading and converting to PDF with Acrobat.com:

If you can't edit the file once it's converted to Word, it could be that the PDF was created from a scanned page, and then image text wasn't converted to searchable text. ExportPDF should perform Optical Character Recognition by default, but it can be disabled in Reader. Do you know whether OCR was disabled when you converted the page? If it wasn't, make sure that the correct language was selected for OCR. This option appears at the bottom of the ExportPDF panel in Reader, and in the Document Language (for Text Recognition) pop-up menu that appears after you select your file to convert in the ExportPDF online service.
If everything seems to have been set correctly, and you still can edit the text, please try triple-clicking to select the text in Word. Did that do the trick?

After converting and dowloading that converted file from a Adobe PDF file to a word document I then open the word document to see a message stateing

The error message you were receiving occurs when you try to convert a dynamic PDF file created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer. This file is usually already a fillable form. Unfortunately there is no workaround available for converting documents like this within the ExportPDF service.

I tried your suggestion, not knowing that the direct pdf printer would also "save as" PDF, but when I try your suggestion and use the Adobe PDF printer that is a direct creation of the PDF from the browser (IE9), instead of the "black out" areas I get when I use the "Convert to" button, I get missing blocks of the resulting PDF, and only get the first 1/4 to 1/3 of the webpage.
Just to clarify, when I said I print the webpage and then scan, that is a work around I have to do if I need a scanned version of the way a webpage appears on a particular date and time, instead of the one step process I used to be able to do when Adobe Acrobat would actually convert the webpage to a pdf without blackout areas or, if I try your suggestion, blank spots with a partial webpage. But the idea was one I had not thought of and I appreciated the thought.

Nothing has been converted. You first need to convince yourself of this.
Start Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat, if you have it). Use Open from the File menu. Pick one of your PDF files. Does it open OK? If not, what happens?

Hi, just wanted to add my 2¢
I've been in publishing over 25 years and live in Acrobat for making my final files. Currently with a newspaper.
This is what we do:
• Tool Panes > Print Production Window
• Select CONVERT COLORS
• Midway down under OUTPUT INTENT, check Convert Colors to Output Intent
• In the associated drop down menu, I choose (because I'm printing on newsprint) DOT GAIN 20% – If you're working on better stock, choose a lower dot gain percentage.
• Click OK – this will convert the file
• Save
Note: this affects the file you're working with. Make sure that you use this method on a COPY if you want to retain the original color version.
I think if you compare my method to the Preflight method, you'll see a tighter contrast and better blacks. I've always felt the Preflight method left continuous tones a little muddy.
Now if there was only a way to add that to ACTIONS...!
