Somebody must know whats going on with PAL 720p HVX support !

Ok this is getting really really anoying !
Why has apple not mentioned anything about supporting PAL 720p in FCP ?
Just a simple where on the case would be nice but no, nothing.
I hate this kind of attitude and it severly hurts my investment in this camera and format.
Why was it so easy to provide ntsc support but us pal owners are left feeling ignored.
Just freeking tell us whats going on ............. aaaaaaaarghhh

720p25 is no officially supported format in general.
Only 720p50 is a real standard. However there is a
so called 2:2 pulldown where you double the frames,
also called 25p over 50p. This only concerns a
transparent video signal via HD-SDI. Speaking about
the Panasonic HVX200 is another story as this is a
file based workflow.

This is also helpful for JVC GY-HD users that could use
an HDV to HD-SDI converter.

Someone know whats going on with iSight with the 10.4.8 system?

Hello,
After my last system upgrade to the 10.4.8 version, I has a problem concerning iSight, I don't know why, now iSight is not recognised for any software in the Mac.
I hope Apple can solve this problem, because as all know, -this camera is not the less expensive in the market- and now, when we search in the AppleStore this product (iSight), we don't find.
I searching in the Apple site one solution but I don't find them. Please, if someone can help me, thank you very much.

I can only speak from my experience with the unacknowledged problem(s) that a great many of us have had with the OS upgrade and iSight.
Personally, after a lot of time spent trying to fix (occasionally successful: at least for a while)the issue on the 4 Mac's in the family, I've switched all over to Skype for Mac 2.5 which can be found here:

IMO, the problem is not with the iSight hardware but with the latest Mac OS version.
The iSight was last updated in March of 2005 and has not been available since early July in the EU due to the RoHS directive. It was just recently removed from the AppleStore USA site as well.
As this is a user-to-user support site, I don't want to violate the terms of use regarding speculation on Apple products, including iSight. We may all have to wait until Macworld Expo San Francisco takes place January 9-12th, 2007 in San Francisco, CA. Until then, nobody here can answer your that part of your question.

It sounds like you are listening to iTunes Radio and it stops shortly after you start listening. I recommend starting by signing out of your iTunes account in Settings > iTunes & App Stores. Then close all the running apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue by signing back in to your account, and testing again:

Mystery window pops up and renders any app useless. Is the recommend fix working? It seems to be happening everywhere Nov. 19 & nov 20. Got one workstation down. Tomorrow is press deadline.

Cpw no longer carepoints anyone know whats going o...

anyone know whats going on with cpw and Nokia ?
nokia customer service told me they no longer deal with CPW last weekand i could no longer get waranty repairs done by them and the nokia site no longer lists CPW as care points
but i am seeing posts on nokia users saying that nokia will be relisting the CPW
by the end of the week and that CPW are still carepoints for nokia

CPW were caught red-handed by Nokia breaching agreements for exclusive sales of handsets. Also, there were so many complaints about CPW's inability to do even the most basic repairs without messing something up. I wouldn't be at all asurprised to see that they were gone from Nokia's Care network for good, and not a minute too soon.

My macbook pro freezes and then displays a blue screen with black stripes... do you know what's wrong with it?
I have a two and half year mac book pro... I've had some issues with the screen looking scrambled when I quit certain applications, but now it's turned into something worse. I'll be working on my computer and the thing will freeze. When I force restart, the first screen, the apple logo, will be a blue tint and won't boot up normally. Then I try safe mood and it will then boot just fine. But there are blue stripes on my screen. The screen alternates from a blue tint to normal and if the computer freezes again the screen will become completely blue with black stripes. I haven't tried reinstalling my software because I don't have the startup discs that came with my computer. If I was sure that would fix it I would purchase them, but if it's a hardware issue I'm afraid that I'm screwed. I've been able to successfully get the blue off my screen by putting it to sleep and then waking it up, but that's not working well anymore either.
Does anyone else have experience with this? Is it the firmware or what? I have a MacBook Pro from early 2011 and I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8.

I just experienced this exact same issue with my early 2011 15" macbook pro. Since like a month after purchasing it I had issues with the screen randomly going dark on me. I sent it in for repair inder waranty they replaced the gpu and logic board but I continued to have the same issues with the screen randomly going black sometimes I would need to reboot it in order to get the screen to go back on but it happened so infrequently and I used the computer for school so disnt find the time to resend it in to apple. Just last night the screen started to display the blue screen with black verticle lines on it. I called apple and explained to them the issues that had been ongoing since I purchased the laptop but they said because I was now outside of warantee that any repairs at thia point wouldn't be covered. Fml so glad I spent 2200 on this future proof macbook pro what a joke my sister purchased a toshiba laptop for 300 4 years ago and it still running like a champ. I loved my macbook but at the price I paid I expect it to last longer than 2 years before leaving me high and dry. *** apple??

got your message about making sure to use the machine specific disk that came with my machine. Unfortunately, Apple no longer sells Tiger replacement disks. I've got a couple of bids out on ebay, and will update when I have news to add to this post.

To be clear you called the 800 number and explained what the situation was, old machine and lost the original DVD's?
Just checking because if you just called and tried to buy the DVD's they might tell you they no longer sell them but you aren't really trying to buy them your trying to replace the ones that are missing.
Ebay may work but there is a certain specificity to the DVD's required which, even if they seem right, might not work.
Good luck either way. If you get a chance when you get the DVD's I'd be interested in hearing how it all works out.

Are you sure it is not error 1611?
Error 1611

Try a different USB cable also.

You seem to have a lot of #fff codes in the CSS files that obviously aren't found with the long #ffffff search term (#fff finds them)

Yes, myself I had to trash Sherlock's Caches every two hours or so in order to make it work with Mac OS X 10.4.2.
—> Now since I updated to 10.4.3, it works like a charm.
I don't know if it is because of the update itself, or because I
- cleaned all Caches, including System Caches,
- ran the three Periodic tasks, and performed a
- disk repair with Disk Utility and a
- directory repair with DiskWarrior,
right before the update.
Anyway, make the OS Update the way I did it (Software Update, menu option "Install & Keep Package"), with the precautions above, and see if your Sherlock then works as perfectly well as mine afterwards?

SOLUTION FOR ALL.
This works. Thanks. The best way to do this is through the terminal. Just do the following commands in terminal:
Type sudo su
Press enter
Then enter your password and hit enter
Type vi /etc/hosts
Move your cursor with the down arrow to the line that has gs.apple.com without a # at the beginning of the line.
Move cursor to the beginning of that line.
Type i# then press the esc key.
Type :wq
Press enter
Type exit
Press enter
Now you can quit out of the terminal application. This likely is a problem caused by Tiny Umbrella denying itunes communicating with the apple servers.
