Somehow my sound settings have changed somehow

Was hoping someone can help me on my iPad. I get nothing out of the internal speaker and the volume control when pressed says headphones.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

This could be the same problem other users are reporting as a white screen or black screen, caused by an incompatibility between Firefox 33 and some older graphics card/chipset drivers.

Since the latest software update, every third or so time I turn it on, my sounds settings are changed and I cannot listen to anything-music, YouTube, nothing. I can sometimes change something and it will work, but right now nothing is working. Anyone else

Since latest software update, my sound settings are changing sometimes when I turn on and cannot hear anything. All controls are useless and cannot be activated. After changing several things, I have been able to make it work, but today nothing is working. Anyone else experience this and have any ideas?

The iOS settings for the iPhone 3 never had an option to determine how long you wanted to save messages. That settings is new to iOS8. As far as some being deleted, there is nothing about the phone that should delete messages without some user intervention. Try a reset on the phone, this will not affect your data. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.

It could be a number of keyboard shortcuts, here's a few.
If the screen is zoomed, hold CNTL and scroll down with mouse or trackpad.
If screen looks like a negative, hold down CNTL OPT CMD and click 8.
Let us know how what other symptoms are shown.

Open System Preferences > Sound > Sound Effects
Select: Play user interface sound effects
And make sure the Mute box is not selected.
Now open Mail. From the Mail menu bar clik Mail > Preferences then select the General tab.
Make a selection from the: New messages sound pop up menu.

This could be a problem with the server's configuration or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.
If you have connected to this server successfully in the past the error may be temporary and you can try again later.

My sequence settings have changed - inexplicably

I have loaded up a project i was working on yesterday and i can't understand why but my sequence settings appear to have changed from what they were initially set to.
They should be and were:
Frame size: HD 1440 x 1080 (16:9)
Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD (1440x1080)
Field Dominance: Upper (Odd)
Compressor: DVCPRO HD 1080i50.
Now they are:
Frame size: 720x576 CCIR 601 / DV PAL (5:4)
Pixel Aspect Ratio: PAL - CCIR 601 (720x576)
Field Dominance: Lower (Even)
Compressor: DV - PAL
So now in effect I have HD footage on an SD anamorphic timeline. When I change the settings to the correct ones, it stretches and shrinks the footage.
How do I correct this without having to recut the whole thing?

No. that is not possible. Both methods will reset all those information and you'll need to redo them.

Settings have changed

About a week ago I noticed that my display was acting weird and changing the settings at a random rate. Recently I found out that the setting had been changed. So, I started to check around and found that the loggin items had all been deleted and that other settings had changed.
Now I am finding that I can't access some web pages that I have been visiting for a long time. I reset the Safari settings to no avail.
What the heck am I doing wrong here.

Syncing iphone: Itunes says settings have changed, asks if i want to apply these changes, but no changes have been made?

Itunes 11.3, but this has happened for quite a while, several versions at least. Iphone 5, Ipad 2, this happens with both devices. I sync locally to my macbook pro (late 2011 version, running 10.9.4), using a wired connection.
I will have the 2 devices hooked up via the factory supplied cords. Doesn't actually matter if it's both or just one device. If I have, for instance, the iphone selected via the sidebar, and am displaying the Summary tab, normally you have a sync button to the lower right. Quite often, this will randomly change to two buttons, - Apply, Don't apply, as if I have made settings changes or something, although I haven't. No changes have been made. If I select a different device in the sidebar of itunes, a pop up will open asking me if I want to apply the changes? I say no, all is good. BUT - it's annoying!
Is there any way to make this stop?

Seq settings have changed!

Working in FCP 6. We have 6 different projects. Clips are in apple pro res HQ. Project seqs are 1080x1920 which matches clips, but for some reason one of the project timelines has ended up with settings different to these. Its now 1080x1440 and when I change it back in the seq settings it pilar boxes the video. I dont want to recut from scratch so is there a way I can retain the current cut while correcting the seq settings?

Your problem might have something to do with altered pixel ratio have you checked that too?

Gmail stopped working on my iphone but no account settings have changed

My gmail account has been set up in the "mail" client on my phone for over a year, and then suddenly stopped working two days ago. I get an error that says "The mail server 'imap.gmail.com' is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings" but I haven't changed my password or settings...I have gone back in and re-entered the password (which it accepts when I enter it) and turned on other SMPT servers, and restarted my phone - nothing is working. Any ideas?

Yes, this is a known problem. Google is working on a fix.
