Someone ask to reset my Apple ID password

Hi everyone,
first of all sorry for my bad english.
I explain my issue: when i woke up this morning, i find 2 e-mail (from [email protected]) on my mailbox which contain links to reset my Apple ID password, but i didn't ask that!
Indeed, that happened at 2 and 3 o'clock AM, when i was sleeping.
So i'd like to know:
- how can i understand if my Apple ID has been stolen?
- what can i do to preserve my Apple ID security? Change password?
Thank you all. Bye

Your English is not so bad at all.  Well done.

Why do i keep recieving emails asking to reset my apple id password ?

It looks real, so smeone may be trying to break into your account if you keep receiving them. Rather than use a link in the email, you can use the link below to change your password or set up 2-step verification if your have an iPhone.

  • Why am I being asked to reset my Apple ID Password every day or 2??

Every day or 2 I am being told my password is invalid and I am receiving e-mails from Apple saying my password has been reset.  It is getting rather annoying have to enter a new password every 2 days!!  Any help???

Cause you entering incorrect info for login too many times. Perhaps mixup happens cause you use more then one ID and it gets hard to control which password you use for which id. Suggest come up with ONE password and next time you are prompted to do that on another account, use same password. If I am wrong, and you do not have more then one account - may be someone else is using your account or trying to login with incorrect info that they deem to be correct.

"If you've forgotten the Apple ID password how did you log in to make the last post?"
Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.
As far as the link you provided, I already looked to that for help earlier. It states:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Users & Groups, click the lock to unlock it, then provide an administrator name and password. Select a user, then click Reset Password.
I did these steps, but I don't remember my admin password. The question is: How do I reset my admin password so I can reset my log in password.
Is my admin password the same password I use to log onto this website to post questions? If so, like I said previously, I already reset that password and my computer isnt recognizing it.

  • Why am I asked to supply An Apple ID password for someone else

When trying to access ITunes on my IPhone I am asked to supply an Apple ID password for someone I do not know.  There must be some error within the system that is causing this.  How can this be corrected?

Doesn't matter it anyone else used your phone or not. What matters is where/how you obtained the content on the phone.
    Again:
The usual cause of this is the fact that you have content, on your phone, obtained with that ID...apps, music, etc.

You are being phished and spammed. Ignore these. If you reply to any of them the result is to give out the password to your iTunes account.

2 How to get back to getting into my screen, without that first (& superfluous - since only 3 people use it & it's a HOME computer, not a business that needs extra protections) screen?
    Resetting Password
    1. Shut down comp & wait a few minutes.
    2. Turn on & at the same time hold down the “command” & “R” keys.
    3.  Next screen….. In the menu bar click on Utilities (NOT OS X UTILITIES)
    4.  In the drop down menu, click on Terminal.
    5.  In the terminal pop up small window:  Type exactly—> resetpassword
    Hit return key.
    6.  Reset password window will pop up.  Follow the onscreen instructions to reset password.  Make sure you select the admin account to reset the password.
    7.  You can ignore the “keychain” pop up windows, which is what I did.  Does not affect anything.
You can do the keychain stuff at your leisure.
    8.  Quit out of everything & restart your computer.
    9.  Enter your new reset password.
Once you are back on the desktop, you can go into System Preferences>Users & Groups.  Double check to make sure auto login is enabled.

I bought this mac in june 2012
My next step is to go to the Store folks to fix all - Call support messed me up & so far
If you have AppleCare & same is still active, suggest that you call Apple Customer Relations - 1-800-275-2273.  Ask politely & firmly that you want to be transferred to Customer Relations.  Tell them exactly what you stated in your post.
Be sure to tell them that you have an iMac.  Why?  Because, under AppleCare, iMacs qualify for HOME tech repair/support when warranted.  No need to lug an iMac to a repair facility.
    GOOD LUCK!

  • HT5624 I need to reset my Apple ID password, but it says that my security questions are not correct and I no longer have access to the email it sends the correct information to. Please help!

I need to reset my Apple ID password, but it says that my security questions were not answered correctly.  The email address associated with the questions to reset the answers is no longer available to me. It is my old college email.  Does anyone know how to change this email? The unavailable email is not in my list of emails approved in my Apple ID settings.

You cannot and need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

  • Iphone 4s constantly asks me for my Apple ID Password for no reason since upgrading to ios6

Since upgrading my iphone 4s to ios6 the phone constantly asks me for my Apple ID Password for  no reason. I've gone into the Settings page and entered my password multiple time and this has not solved the problem.

Since switching from iPhone 4 to 5 I am having the same problem.  I thought it only happened when I launched the app Line by Naver, but it's happening at other times now too. I have
    1. reset my iPhone at least 4 or 5 times
    2. erased and restored my iPhone twice
    3. tried installing Line from a different Apple ID/Apple Store (ie. US vs. Japan) at least 4 or 5 times
    4. turned off iCloud (in Settings)
Still no luck.  The repeated password prompts are super frustrating.
EDIT: I was running IOS 6 on my iPhone 4 for a few days before switching iPhones, and I did not notice the problem then.  Also, I thought somehow it might be related to an in-app purchase in Line, but also not sure about that.

  • How to reset your Apple ID password. Scam?? Phish??

The following message has been sent to me 4 times in the last 3 weeks. I have not responded, clicked thru but i have tried to report it to Apple. I have looked at the header and I see the word "apple" in there but the rest is a lot of nonsense to me. I have made no changes to my Apple ID or done anything that would prompt this message. Is someone trying to Phish me or is Apple doing random checks???

If you weren't trying to reset your password, don't worry — your account is still secure and no one has been given access to it. Most likely, someone just mistyped their email address while trying to reset their own password.
