Someone else has used my email account to create an itunes account

Hi! Hopefully somebody maybe able to help.
I have an itunes account, but have another personal email address. Someone has registered this email address for itunes and an ipod touch (which I don't have)
I saw the two emails from apple saying thank-you for registering so I emailed apple on [email protected] to say that I hadn’t registered this email account and asking them to delete my email address as an apple itunes account. I didn’t hear anything back so thought maybe it was ok.
Then today I received an itunes receipt only for $1.07 and billed to Store Credit. The email address is right but they have used my name and a different address in USA whereas I live in UK.
I’m worried this is fraud and it will escalate.
Any ideas how can I get this sorted out?
Anybody know of the best contact details for apple for this sort of thing?
Thanks for ay help anybody can give me!

  • Someone else is using my email address as I'd, any suggestions?, Someone else is using my email address as I'd, any suggestions?

Someone else is using my email address as I'd, any suggestions?

Are you sure it isn't you?  Apple sends e-mail to the address provided which means that even if somebody did have the wild idea of signing up for an account with an address that isn't theirs, it would just end up with you receiving their e-mail and essentially being able to take over their account.
    By the way, "I'd" = "I would".  I.D. = "Identity".

  • Someone else is using my email address as their apple id?

I am trying to create an apple ID, but it states one already exists using that email address; although when I try to reset the password, I don't receive the emails and if I try to answer the security questions, it wont accept my DoB?  Help... how can someone else have registered my email address as their apple ID?

You'll probably have to contact iTunes store support to straighten this out.  They deal with Apple ID issues all the time.  You can contact them here: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

  • HT204088 Someone else has the SAME eMail Address as ME

Today I received an eMail from Apple to MY Apple ID / eMail Address. The Name that the eMail was supposed to be going to however was NOT ME. This has actually happened several times in the past several months, not just to me, but also to my wife. An eMail comes into our eMail Box for me.com, but the person it is directed to is NOT either one of us - but the eMail Addresses ARE ours.
The eMail I received today was for comeone in Arizona (I live in Washington State). It was an eMailed Receipt for something that customer had purchased in that Arizona Apple Store. So since I got his eMail, did he NOT get the Receipt? How can this happen? Are there no quality control checks on eMail Addresses so it's possible for MULTIPLE people to end up with the SAME eMail Address?
    Appreciate your Replys and Feedback...

The websites that she has signed up to I have logged in and there is no message asking for email verification which suggests she is receiving emails.
If they could sign in using an email address that isn't verified then all the website owner has is her word that she is receiving their emails.  Besides, if there had been a verification email for these sites, you would have seen it too; which suggests that there wasn't.
Once you get the password changed they will not be able to receive any email from the account, even if they do now.  That may not be the end of the problem, however, as there would still be nothing to prevent them from continuing to use the address to sign up on websites that don't verify the address.  If it persists, you may have to either create a new iCloud account in order to get a new email address, or create an alias address to use within the existing iCloud account and stop using your main address for email.  Then you can set up an email rule on icloud.com that sends email from the main addres to the trash where it is deleted 30 days later.  This explains how to create an alias address: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a.  This explains how to set up an email rule: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a3f8a.  Good luck.

  • Someone else is using my email id for facetime and imessage, how can i fix this??

    How can i fix this??

To elaborte on Davids response aortiz5 you can got to appleid.apple.com and click the option to manage your apple id.  Here you will be able to change your primary apple id and email address if you want. Or if this is your apple id and you think some one else has access to it you can click on passwords and security on the left and change your password for your apple id which will cause the other devices to prompt for the new password.

  • Can I setup new iPad for someone else from my computer without it messing up my iTunes account?

Would like to know if anyone has done this with success.  My mom wants to mail me her new iPad so I can set it up for her.
    Please advise and thank you.

There is no need for you to use your computer to set up an iPad for your mother. You can do it over the air with WiFi and then you do not have to worry about syncing your content to her device - which I would not recommend anyway.
Why don't you just talk mom through it over the phone. It is a very simple process. Take a look at this. Or if she insists on you setting it up, do it this way.

The gentleman from Philadelphia knows of whence he speaks when it comes to using more than one ID on the iPad but I also recommend that you NOT use your ID on the iPad and this is why.

  • HT4436 If someone else has set up an ICloud account (that uses his name in the email address) using my Apple ID, do I have to change my Apple ID to open an account with my name in the email address?

If someone else has set up an ICloud account using my email address and Apple ID but has chosen his name for the mail name, can I get rid of his name in the [email protected] and put mine in there?  Or do I have to set up a whole new acount with a new Apple ID?  Will I be able to do that with his name already linked to my email address?

How did he manage to do this? - he would have to have known your password if he was using an existing Apple ID. You should change it immediately to something strong and unguessable. That will prevent him accessing the account or using the email he has set up (assuming he hasn't changed the password and locked you out).
You can't change the primary @icloud.com address once set up, though you can create additional addresses as email aliases: if he's given this address out you will get his emails but you could set up a Rule to trash them.
You might to better to create a new ID and iCloud account anyway. To do this you wil need a different non-Apple email address (you could use a free GMail one); or you have the option in the iCloud prefs pane to choose an @icloud.com address and make that the ID.

  • HT5312 Someone else has been given my old Apple ID. now I can't use items purchased with that account. How do I get it back or change items purchased by me to my new account?

Someone else has been given my old Apple ID. now I can't use items purchased with that account. How do I get it back or change items purchased by me to my new account?

When I requested a new password the e-mail was sent to the old address then the new owner of that address entered their info and I no longer have access to it.

  • Can I see if someone else has accessed my account?

Im writing this out for a second time because I lost the first one. Long story short I have a friend who knows loadsof my passwords including skype, I am cool with it and I dont really want to change them. But I am kind of paranoid about them accessing my messages like skype and email and facebook and wanted to know if skype tells you if someone else has logged into your account from a different IP or something or if someone is logged in at the same time as you on another computer and sending messages and stuff. Like Facebook tells you when you log in if someone has been on your account from another ip address.
    Thank you.

Hi, RoHamster, and welcome to the Community,
To check if your Skype account is signed on simultaneously on another device (where, not who is using your account), type this chat command in any open instant message chat:
    /showplaces
Lists other instances where this Skype name is currently signed in.
To force a sign-out, type this chat command:
    /remotelogout
Sign out all other instances except the current one. This will also stop push notifications on all other instances.
From a safety and security standpoint, I would strongly recommend you reconsider allowing anyone to have a list of your account passwords.  I recommend you start changing all of them, and the sooner, the better.
    Regards,
    Elaine

  • How to set up myself as family share organizer with my own Apple id when someone else has gotten a new phone and used my Apple ID on it and set up family share for themselves?

its my Apple ID and it's basically been hijacked on a device I dont own and someone else has been set up as family share organizer in my own Apple ID and I can't seem to do anything about it.

You really need to get the apple id straightened out before you start, or you will pay the price forever!   You have a couple of options.  I assume your dad is cooperating with this project.  I think you are probably right about using his apple account.
Make sure you have established the second e mail address and that to works.
Log onto apple.com, and in the upper right, log into the account.  Once in the accout, click on the area where you can change you data, and add the second email address.    Apple wil verify the adress by send it an e mail, and won't do anything further until you respond to an e mail sent to that address, so watch for it.
After the address is verified, on your accout page, make that address your primary address contact from apple.  That way if apple sends confirmations for apps and things, they will go to the new address, and your mom won't see them.  Then set the pad up using the same aple Id as your dad.  Remember, you have not changed the apple id or the password, you have only changed the e mail address for contact.   ( you can change it back after the surprise)
The other suggestion...  I have given a coule of pads to folks, and one of the real fun parts for them and for you is o
Ending the box, and doing the set up.  It is a great way for them to learn enough to use it.  Press the buttons etc.  pick their own apps.  You can gift her all the apps you want, and she can learn how to download them herself.
I gave a pad to mom in law, and did pretty much what you are planning, and at the end of the day, having it all set when she openied it made it harder for her to learn, rather than easier.
But you are doing a god thing, and I am sure she will enjoy the pad.

  • My itune account has a different email than my apple id how do i fix it? someone has my old email and is receiving my itunes and some old emails

My itune account has a different email than my apple id and someone has the old email address associated with my itunes so she receives lots of my information.  How do I fix this I already tried to change my itunes to my new email associated with my apple id and it states the address I entered is already associated with an apple id.

You can change the primary email address on it to be another email address (if you don't have another account then you could create one via http://gmail.com or http://hotmail.com). You can't delete an account, you can only remove personal info from it (e.g. credit card details if you have on it) and stop using it - but any items (apps, music etc) that were downloaded on the account will remain tied to it, so only that account will be able to authorise that content on a new computer, potentially redownload its purchases, and download updates to its apps

  • I think someone else is using my account

Its been there for long, but whenever I receive a message and when I'm already done reading it. It shows unread. Nd then again I suspected when all of a sudden all my messages from before randomly started coming back. I went offline for 10 mins approx and told my friend to keep a check. She said I was still online and I was somehow still receiving her msg.
She told me she'd log in my acc nd check. And when she did the same thing happened. All my msgs from the past started coming up. I'm pretty sure someone else is using my account. Nd I really want to get rid of it. Please help!!

If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your debit card directly rather than an unauthorized purchase through your iTunes Store account. If your account had been accessed, you'd still see the charges in your Purchase History. You need to immediatly contact your bank and report the charges as fraudulent. I'd also suggest you get them to issue you a new debit card. The charges could have come from a "shotgun" attack and not from someone who has your actual debit card infomation, but it would be best not to take chances.
    Regards.

  • Someone else is using my account without my authorization

Hello,I see this is a topic that's been covered before, but it appears there's nothing I can do about it without the help of folks at Spotify. Anyway, someone else has repeatedly logged into my account. I first noticed it on 6/22 when my current song kept changing to music I did not select.  I've created my account via Facebook, so I immediately checked Facebook (no signs of hacking) and changed my password there. I used my Spotify account panel to sign out of all devices and deauthorize all offline devices. I also contacted Spotify support who temporarily shut down my account. I logged in again today and see new playlists were created that are not mine. My "Songs" section contains a list of songs I've never heard of (screenshot attached). Obviously somebody is still using my account. Even though I've signed out everywhere, they are somehow getting back in. I've checked my Facebook security information and am 99.9% sure nobody but me is logging into my Facebook account. This appears to be a Spotify-only issue. What else can be done?
