Someone else is authorized on my songs

There are a handfull of songs on my itunes that say they are authorized to someone else. No one else I know has my account info or access to my computer. Any ideas what I can do?

Ok, this is odd. Do you know who this person is? Is it someone in your household or a complete stranger's name that's showing up there?
Let's try deauthorizing the computers on your account (log into the store and go to your account page and you can zap all the computers there at once). Then quit iTunes and delete one of the iTunes files:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info\SC Info.sidb
You might have to turn on "show hidden files" to find them. (Right click "my computer", select open, select Tools menu -> Folder Options. Select View tab, "show hidden files" radio button is in the center scrolling panel.)
Then relaunch iTunes and try to play the song again. This should ask you for the account / password information again. Enter that.
Does this clear things out? Are things working then?

The The person who gave yo the iPod did not have the right/licence to also give you the media on the iPod. If you use it yo are stealing.
Go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content end Settings and set the iPod up with your media.

I think I found the reason. On my iMac that is hosting the music library a song already was playing. This seems to block out me from selecting another song though my Apple TV.

The complaint about the file type only appears if you try to open a PDF stored in the phone memory but not if you try to open a PDF stored on the memory card.

MacBook Pro / Mozilla Firefox / Netflix / Silverlight Update solved - DON'T DWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX
I solved this problem tonight. I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8. I know, it's old. But I love my Netflix and I recently noticed that Firefox plays Netflix much better. Then I suddenly got this message that I needed to download the latest Silverlight - it only takes 30 seconds! - WRONG. However, after much searching, I finally did the steps in order and it worked.
This was after repeatedly downloading Silverlight from the Netflix site without success. So here's what I did:
1. Went to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx
2. Followed the directions. I felt like such an idiot for not doing it right before.
3. Go to your hard drive and search for "Silverlight" to locate ANY existing Silverlight files: .dmg, etc.
[also check your Libary/ Internet Plug-ins, but the above search is faster]
4. Drag it all to the trash and empty it.
5. Go back to the Get Silverlight page and click on the Install on that page, not the Netflix site.
6. Note the steps for Safari or Mozilla Firefox - I wanted Firefox, so I follwed those instructions.
7. Once it's installed, close all the browsers and Restart that bad boy. Right away.
8. Open a browser, go to Netflix and proceed to joyfully rot your brain with Netflix content. Yay!

Someone else buying songs

I was signed into my ipad and I got an email saying that someone else was on my account from a different computer and buying songs on itunes. They bought at least 12 songs without my permission. I have no idea who is doing this. I finally got it to stop by not allowing my ipad to have access to itunes anymore. Otherwise the songs would have continued to download, one right after the other. They are songs I wouldn't never have downloaded and have never heard. How do I get my money back? And how to I bump up the security so this never happens again?

I changed the password and that didn't help, they kept spending money somehow? I had giftcards out there, so it has not reached my credit card. I called my credit card company and canceled my card. Thanks for your help. I sent a message to itunes support, but they take 24 hours to respond to you...

In finder it shows that I'm sharing my computer with someone else that i have never authorized not even know.

What exactly does the message say?
If you want to turn off sharing, use System Preferences > Sharing. Authenticate by clicking the lock icon, then un-check the sharing services you do not want.

Itunes is showing someone else's library of music in "owner's library". How can I fix this?

I have just purchased this laptop and just tried authorizing my itunes account for this mac and syncing it with my iphone. It didn't sync and loaded someone else's library under "owner's library". I am not sure what to do about this, I thought maybe it was just combining all my past music libraries, but this definitely is not my music-there are bands I've never heard of and while I know sometimes new pcs come with some free sample songs this is thousands of songs so that's not the case. The apps you are trying to update were purchased with (and therfore permanently linked to) someone elses Apple ID. If you do not know the password then you need to delete the app and redownload/purchase it with your Apple ID.

I have a series of events that someone else created and the start time is off by 1 hour in my timezone. Is there a script available to run and change these times or do I have to delete them and manually create them myself?

What I ended up doing John is just simply deleting the original events from iCal then I went in to Outlook and manually changed the start/stop times of each event then went into the IMAP Calendar folder, clicked on that event and added it to my iCal. Thats sort of the process I use for getting my events to from Exchange to iCal anyway (can't wait for Snow Leopard) but that did the trick for me for these few items that were off. Fortunately I don't expect any changes from the author.

No. Credit balances cannot be transferred, nor can they be used to buy gifts.
To use it up, just buy some songs that you like. They will come in standard AAC format that you can play in many players besides iTunes.

I have a different problem, perhaps someone can help.
My friends music library is on a hard drive, I can move songs to my library, they play fine on my computer.....However, when I try to move them to my i-phone, they turn to a light grey color and will not play on my phone. They also have a circle with dots in front of the song.
Some security limitation apparently, just trying to over-ride.
