Hi I was just wanting to know if anyone can help with a problem I am having with an iPad 2. Some apps were purchased with one apple id and when I try to update the apps signed in with my id it asks for the password to the other id but also on an iPod touch apps were purched with first id and when someone else tries to download more apps it aske for the first persons apple id so is there any way than I can override these problems easily or be able to delet that persons id permanently so as we can download and update without it asking for a password that nobody knows or has access to please.

Unfortunately the apps bought by one ID need these ID for update the app. If you want to use it with your ID you must delete and buy the app (or download it if its free) again. -

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

I do not recommend reformatting your harddrive and reloading your software. This is a Windows thing. On an older mac it may be difficult to find all your software again.
Best to have greater than 2gig of free space. Many posters to these forums state that you need much more free space: 5 gig to 10 gig or 10 percent of you hd size.

Be careful when deleting files. A lot of people have trashed their system when deleting things. Place things in trash. Reboot & run your applications. Empty trash.
Go after large files that you have created & know what they are. Do not delete small files that are in a folder you do not know what the folder is for. Anything that is less than a megabyte is a small file these days.

Now that you tried to update it, it has locked back to the original carrier. The only way to continue is to find who the carrier was it is locked to and see if they provide unlocking services and see if you qualify. If you knowingly purchased a jailbroken device, you should have known what would happen if you tried to update it. You have also forfeited your support from Apple and these forums.

That's a pretty clear indication that it's stolen. If the seller won't refund your money, file a claim with eBay. If that doesn't pan out, then turn it over to the police and give them all the information you have on the seller. Maybe if you tell the seller you're going to do that, they'll be more inclined to refund your money rather than face criminal charges. -

You will need to Restore it as a New Device...

Just in case that wasn't specific enough....It's an older ipod touch. He gave it to me as a Christmas gift and I want to keep the songs and Apps he already has on it but I want to be able to add more to it which means I would need it on my own itunes account because I can't add anything to it without a password.

Get the serial number off the back. Log in to http://supportprofile.apple.com, click Add product and enter the serial number. If it says it is registered to another ID have your daughter sign in at the above webpage and remove it. -

I'm not sure what you mean by "drop-down window", but your daughter doesn't need to do anything for you to claim and use her iPod. If you have iTunes 11, the iPod should appear as a button in the upper-right of the iTunes window, e.g.:
