Someone has accessed my contact list and sent ads erroneously
Someone has broken into my Yahoo! mail and accessed my contact list and has sent several Viagra ads yesterday and today to people in my contact list....it's called spooling or spoofing?? Is there anything that you do to prevent this from happening?

You probably need to check your computer for malware. To scan for malware, install, update and run these programs ''in this order''. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in their "free mode", but the features you'll miss are not really needed to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that ''not all programs detect the same malware''!

If you're in recovery mode, all data is ALREADY lost. You've no choice but to restore.

I recently downloaded the 5.1.1 and all of a sudden the contact icon has disappeared. I can still access my contact list through the phone icon, but I want the contact icon back. How can I reinstall it?
You can't delete it. Look on all your screens and inside all your folders. If you still can't find it go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. This will restore the home screen to its original configuration but may move other apps around to do so.

You should consider enabling two-factor verification on your Apple ID, to further protect it. Without doing that, it's entirely possible that a hacker who gains access to your account in the future could take control of your Apple ID away from you entirely.
You also should consider whether any confidential information might be stored in iCloud. If you have made the mistake of putting a list of passwords in the Notes app, for example, that list should be considered compromised, and all passwords should be changed (and removed from the Notes app).
If you used the same password as your old iCloud password for other accounts, you need to change the password on all those accounts.
You should also alert your contacts that your e-mail was compromised, so that they are cautious about trusting any attachments supposedly coming from you. Keep in mind that the spammer can continue to "spoof" your e-mail address on the From line of new e-mail messages, even without access to your e-mail account. -
Lost Contact List and other issues
I am writing in hope someone here can help with an issue we are having with one of our phones. We both have the Incredible 2, mine is working just fine, but as of last night, my SO's phone has been giving him a Google error and then force close. He cannot access his contact list, the text messages are not showing up with either names or pictures, and he cannot send emails using his phone any longer. Has anyone had this issue before? If so, how can we fix it? The only thing that he did differently last night was install an app (from the University of Phoenix) to access his online classroom. Since doing that, the phone has been running all crazy. He has since deleted that app, along with several others that he no longer uses, took the battery out, rebooted several times and it is STILL not working.

All your contacts should return to the device when you re enter your Google email and password at the startup screen after the reset. Your contacts come from different places so don't compare your list until you have all your accounts set up again. (All emails, all social network accounts.). Also, it is very important to enter your Gmail account first at the startup menu. Then add your other ones after that. This will insure your Google phone will run properly.
Do not be afraid to reset any Android phone as needed. Also, use the menu key in the Market to see that all of your downloaded apps are up to data on your phone. This helps your phone run smoothly.
Sometimes Apps work on some phones and not others. It happens. The developers of these apps need to know this and if you want, you can contact any of them personally on their app page.

Can people on your contact list read your instant messages to someone different on your contact list or can they only see what you IM to them personally?
I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but in one-on-one chat, the only persons who can see the messages that you sent is you and the contact that you are chatting with.

I think this is a flow in the system when you can not do restore. which should be done automaticaly, we are not all computer savy?!Go to iTunes menu, EDIT/PREFERENCES/DEVICES tab, do you see any Backup files with Date and Time? These are the backup file you have everytime you sync your device to your iTunes.
Now close the dialogue box, connect your device to your computer. In iTunes left Pane, your iPhone will appear under "Devices". Right mouse click yout iPhone and select Restore from backup, select the backup from Date and Time you can remember that has all the contacts and notes and proceed from there. -

I have received an email saying that my Apple ID has been reset. This wasn't by me!! Does this mean that someone has accessed my account. Tried phoning Apple but they keep sending me emails saying that they have tried but I haven't answered. My number is correct.
Are you sure they say the password has been changed or that *if* you want to change it, then go to a web site and do it there. If the latter, just ignore the email. If the former (and I'm assuming the email is regarding a changed password, but it could mean the security questions have been changed), then using a computer's browser, try logging into icloud.com. If you can do that using the old password, then it's not clear what the email means.

Someone has captured my email address and sending messages out to people in my address book making it look like they are from me. It's for an advertisement on a webpage. How do I get it to stop?
This has not happened to me in over 3 years when I switched to apple products.
Anyone that can help me clean this up. Most of the recipients that the link above is being sent to are simply deleting because they know if I was the one asking them to check out the link I would tell them first what it was about before they open it. There is NO message in the email JUST the website. This is frustrating for me...brings me back 3 years to anti-virus protection with Windows.

HT4436 For some reason the ICloud took my contact list and left me without a list on my PC.
For some reason the ICloud took my contact list and left me without a list on my PC. My IPAD and IPOD Touch seem to share well with ICLoud but has removed my contact list completly from my PC. I am wondering if anyone else has had this experience or knows how to get it back ?
Be prepared to lose everything on your iPhone but it should be backed up in iTunes so you can restore from your backup.
