Someone is receiving texts that are sent to my phone number to their imessage

So first off let me say that I don't have an iPhone but I used to have one. Anyways my two cousins who have iphones have tried texting me but someone else who has an iPhone is receiving them. Is there anything I can do about that?

You need to change your apple ID password for the iPhone you sued to have. Go to appleid.apple.com then manage my ID

There's a really weird iMessage behavior,
I've got both my iPhone and my iPad configured with the same Apple ID, iMessage turned on, it would only arrive at my iPhone (as an iMessage), but not on my iPad - what's the point?! (no one should know that he has to SMS my mail address for my devices to show the message as expected)

Tried that on their phones, I was thinking that maybe since the "old" conversation is linked to my e-mail it might see that when I choose my cell number it takes it as "new' conversation, but I would think that since both my e-mail and cell number is in my contact on their iPhones it would know to connect to the 'old" conversation. Another weird thing was a friend text me which I received on my iPhone not my iPad, but when I reasoned the texts started to show up on the iPad the original text was missing but the rest of the conversation was there, I was at wok when this took place and had no access to the iPad.

What are the recommended settings for multiple iPhones and iPads in the same family? I don't want my family members contacts in mine...or them receiving texts that are intended just for me. Help!

I don't want my wife's or children's contact information in my contacts during syncing...or them receiving texts that are intended or me. Can someone please tell me how they handle multiple family members settings in regard to emails, iCloud, and iTunes? Does each phone have a separate computer login, iTunes account or iCloud accounts? Since I updated my iPhone 4s to iOS 6 all messages that are sent to my phone from another iPhone user get sent to my daughters iPhone as well. And I can text her but she cannot text me.

Alll I can say is try to reset your iphone like, taking out the sims card. ALso try loging out of your Facetime and your email on your phone, telll me if that works, and did you try connecting Apple Support Team?

Using Verizon Messaging and people are not receiving my texts NOR am I receiving texts that were sent to me! Went to old iphone and disabled imessaging but still not working. I'm a big texter for personal and business and am ready to go back to iPhone.

Just got the Samsung Galaxy s5 and am very frustrated that I am not receiving text messages that were supposedly sent to me. Also, it says 'sent' but it is never delivered. Or it might get delivered but mine still just shows being sent. I re-started that phone and disabled my texting on my old iphone as some have suggested. I'm ready to go back to the iphone just because of this issue. Please fix this Verizon!

I'll tell you it is some marketing coup that a problem Apple has created and has control over is being passed off on Verizon.
This problem is the result of you migrating from iMessage, a messaging platform controlled completely by Apple, back to a more mainstream messaging system of SMS/MMS. Verizon has no control over other iPhones "thinking" you are still using iMessage. NOTHING Verizon can do will fix this problem.
Try texting the word "stop" to 48369. Others have reported this has worked. Doing this should de-register your number with the iMessage system. You should receive a confirmation reply. It may take a day or 2 for other iPhones to completely register that your number is no longer associated with iMessage. You can also try calling Apple support and let them know you are not receiving messages from iPhone users after switching to an android phone from an iPhone.

On my iphone I no longer have an icon for messaging on one of my contacts. I can still text that person and have his phone number but what happened to the icon?

One of my contacts no longer has an icon for texting. It show the phone icon and his number is still present. I can still send and receive texts from this person but what happened to the "balloon" icon?

Can you delete the contact, reset your phone and then re add the contact again?

LG Cosmos phone can not send/receive texts that are typed

Hi,
My family has 3 of the LG Cosmos phones and we cannot word text either the phones do not receive them even though our phones says we sent them. They even sometimes do not go through to our other phone which is an iphone.
We have reset, we have cleared memory, we have tried everything.
Funny thing is we can send picture texts without a problem and we can send the voice text messages and they all go through. They don't miss one. However, if we type the text message (as in normal text) only maybe 1 in every 8 goes through. This has been happening for 2 days now. Any suggestions? It does not matter if we are out or at home.

I know how important it is for your text messages to be received. We want to get to the bottom of this situation to get your messages to be delivered. Other than the messages being typed out, have you noticed any other similarities? Do you have any message signatures set? When the messages aren't delivered, are they going to other Verizon users or all providers? To those Verizon users, are the messages on your phone showing delivered? Please provide us a few more details so we can check what may causing the trouble.

I have 4 email accts, all but one work fine, the main one doesn't receive emails that are sent to me at all? Any idea what went wrong?

After the download, I began entering my email accounts manually. The first one "[email protected]" doesn't appear to be working properly. Emails that my friends have sent to me are not being received, test emails I have sent from my office are not geting to me either.
I have looked at the setups for the other 3 accounts and all are the same as the first, so why is this happening?? Hopefully, when you send me an answer, I will get it???

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

Cannot receive pictures that are sent to me!

So when one of my contacts sends me a picture on my PC I get a blue square which is suppose to be the picture, with a triangle and an exclamation mark in it and under the box I get a message saying "this photo is unavailable"
This problem is only on my pc, when I go to my cell phone I can see the picture.

Next clear all Temporary Internet Files:
Open Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> General. In the section “Browsing history” press the “Settings” button and in the next window the “View files” button. Delete all files from the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Why wont my phone receive texts that were sent whilst I was updating it?

I updated my phone today to IOS 8, during the process I ended up having to reset and back up my phone which took around 3 hours. Whilst this happened my friend text me yet the text still hasn't come through. Will it eventually come through? I'm worried I may have missed other important texts.

Thanks! Not sure what they did but I could use the phone when I found it. He said he enabled it but nothing seemed to change. Just curious of messages still come thru when disabled.

As the title indicates: After upgrading to iOS7, I can no longer send or receive texts that aren't iMessages.
The text conversations are still there; you can see that I used to be able to text anyone. But now I cannot.
I have followed several different fixes suggested in these forums, I have Restored my phone, I have Reset Network Settings, I have Reset All Settings, I have checked settings on several friend's phones. But I still cannot send or receive texts that are not iMessage texts.
This seems like a pretty big deal. People text more than they call. And I now have a phone that cannot text very many people.
It is so frustrating. I have spent so much time trying to get it to work.

I don't know if this is a corrupted preference file or not, but it sure can't hurt to try this.
If Mail is open, Quit Mail.
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Drag that .plist file to the Desktop. Launch Mail and see if you can send or receive e-mail. If you can, that .plist file is corrupted. Drag it to the trash, empty the trash and reboot. Your Mac will create a new preference file for you the next time you launch Mail.
Also... run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. Disk Utility is in your Applications/Utilities folder. Launch DU, select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, click Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.
