Someone is using Photoshop CC on Windows 8.1 tablet (Atom Cpu)?

Hi,
I would buy a little 8 inch Tablet with Atom quadcore and 2gb of ram (Windows 8.1).
It's similar to a toy, I know, but I need a little and economic thing when I'm travelling out of my country.
In practice I'll use this device with Camera Raw or Lightroom for simple adjustments and obviously to storage pictures using external hard drive or cloud (if internet is good enough).
I would greatly appreciate it if you kindly give me some feedback using this type of devices with Photoshop or Lightroom.
Thank You in advance.

Hi,
well for the Photoshop it is recommend to have 8 GB of rem for the smooth performance, bu the minimum is 2 GB required ,
it may work but the performance will be very poor and 3d and other graphics intensive feature inside the Photoshop will not work for sure.
and regarding the Lightroom as it is a atom processor and ;looking and the benchmark test result for that processor , it should work fine
but not as fast as compared to a regular laptop or desktop, and again if we are importing a large number of images at the same time the performance may degrade

    Thanks

Saving each image as different size - is it an option for you?  I would save images with their name as: 20x30.png, 16x20.png etc etc.
Or explain whether you want these in a webpage  in which case only one image is necessary and different sizes are displayed with good CSS code.  this is question for Dreamweaver forum if this is what you want.

  • Problems with text using Photoshop CC on Windows 8.1

I am using Photoshop CC on Windows 8.1.  I get  flickering on the screen as described by others.  My main problem, however,  is that when I try to use the text tool the layer goes completely black and I cannot see what I am typing or edit the text.  I have tried updating my video card driver and my monitor driver.  I have deleted the font cache file, I have tried using Photoshop without plug ins (I use Nic plug ins).  The only thing that has worked is resetting the preferences by holding down alt+control+shift keys when starting photoshop.  This allows me to enter text normally on one photograph and one only.  Once I have completed that first photograph and load another I get the black layer.  I desperately need help.  If this continues I will have to cancel my membership as I was much better off using my Photoshop Elements 11 disc.
Any help will be very gratefully appreciated...............help seems to be very difficult to come by Adobe you make it very difficult for your customers!

Ok,I can appreciate that I may not have given enough information.  You state that without proper system information nobody can help, but I need to know what information is needed.  You also state that I should simply turn off hardware acceleration in the perfs.  What does that mean?  How do I do that? I have tried changing the GPU Drawing Mode to basic and it didn't work.  Is this what you mean?  You may be assuming a level of knowledge I do not have. From research I have done this seems to be a problem with windows 8.1 that Adobe have been aware of for about a year.  I have followed all the online advice I have been able to find but nothing seems to be working.

You might want to check this thread. Some have had success with CS5 on Windows 8, others not so lucky.

  • Issues with PHOTOSHOP CS4 on Windows 7

    Hi!
    I'm using photoshop CS4 on Windows 7, and i have a problem. I'm working on a Core I7 920 with 6Go of ram.
I'm using the 11.0.1 version (the latest), and even with that, the brush is awfully slow on windows 7. I tried with and without the "Open-GL drawing" enabled, it doesn't change anything. I thought it could be the fault of Windows 7's "tablet PC" function, but even after uninstalling it, i still have the same problem. I tried it on XP SP3 on the same computer, and it works normaly.
As i also had some problems with AE, i guess the compatibility is not perfect. I think Adobe should really think about an update for 7 users.

Here's a possible solution (work around) to the lag problem, that worked for me.
Open the Wacom Tablet Properties, double click on the tablet and make sure its in "Standard" mode.
Click on the Mapping Tab ->set the mapping mode to Mouse and turn off Mouse Accelerration.
I also either disabled anything that I didn't use.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why can't I view metadata added in Photoshop CS4 in Windows XP's explorer?

I'm using Photoshop CS4 on Windows XP.  I've been editing the Title and Description fields in Photoshop (and yes, I've been saving things).  When I try to view the metadata in Photoshop at a later point I can see everything just fine.  When I try to view the metadata by going in to windows explorer and looking at the properties, those fields just show up as blank.  This may be a silly question (I'm a bit of a noob), but what am I doing wrong?

I believe Mylenium is referring to this:  Start Bridge, then Edit - Preferences - Metadata.
I don't know what settings to tweak to accomplish what you want, though.

  • Incorrectly coloured text when saving to .PDF using Photoshop CS4

I am using Photoshop CS4 on Windows 7, and have designed my own business card.
When saving to .PDF to send to printers I am finding that a small section of text is saving with a white section to it, for example out of the 3 lines of text on the card the bottom left hand corner of the & sign I have in the design is coming out white, the rest of the text is a golden colour.
I have tried searching on this forum and on google but can't seem to find anyone with my actual problem so unsure where to go.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks

Well, you could change the native text color instead of using layer styles, could you not?

Or make the Type and Hyphen layers into a single Smart Object and clip a yellow layer to it.

  • Using Photoshop CS 5 on Bootcamp

I have Photoshop CS5 installed on my OSX. I'm planning to install windows 7 via bootcamp.  I read a long time ago there was a way I can get a windows key for my same program for a reduced price?  Or am I mistaken? I can't remember where I read it. I think it was burried in a forum somewhere and not among the top posts.  I don't know what validity it had.
That said, do I have to buy a whole another copy to use on the windows partition?  I hope not. It would be nice to be able to run photoshop on both partitions without too much extra cost. But if it costs a whole new copy of photoshop I'll have to accept having to reboot my computer between using photoshop and the windows programs I am editing for.
I had to edit this. Parallels is something I really want to use. I keep getting those mixed up.  Right now the cost is out of my budget, but parallels is another alternative I am hoping for in the long run and saving up for. I'm thinking of getting it in a few months.  I still wish there can be a more streamlined way I can transfer graphic files between both partitions without having to jump through a lot of hoops.

Thanks. It was just the convenience factor. Boot up on mac side edit texture, save on stick drive, boot up on pc side, test texture. Shut down. Boot up mac, edit texture.  Shut down and boot up windows to test again. Add, rinse, repeat.  But that would be mostly recreational use. (editing computer game textures for personal and small community use.) In all fairness I could probably get by with a much cheaper program, perhaps elements.  But it takes having to learn them. I'm familiar with my CS5.
For my photo editing and all serious work, I have no problems using the mac side. And true I used pc versions of really old photoshop versions (7).  And yes I got more errors on the PC version than I did on the college computers which were macs.  That was long ago. I'm no longer a student. I have a licensed version of CS5 that I had paid for about 3 years ago from saving up.

  • Using a Table PC Like a Intuos Tablet with Photoshop

I use an Intous tablet with my desktop PC to edit my photography in Photoshop.  While travelling I've been using a laptop and a small Bamboo tablet.
I'd like to use a simpler travelling solution, a tablet PC if I can use it like I use the Intous tablet.
Does anyone know if this is possible?  It would be great to use the tablet PC instead of carrying around a Bamboo tablet.

I was having same problem using Photoshop cc and windows 8.1.
I first noticed when I was using clone tool. If I held down pen to start painting from clone source the dang circle appears with brush options.
Here's what I did to fix it.
Make sure your tablet is plugged in and working.
    Go to Windows Control Panel
    Select Hardware and Sound.
"Pen and Touch" should be listed, and select "Change Tablet Pen Settings".
A dialog opens. Look for the box that has the line inside that says "Press and Hold", and select that line.
Then press Settings button under box. This opens a new dialog box. At the top you need to UNCHECK "Enable Press and Hold for right-clicking". Hit OK, etc.
    That seemed to fix problem.
It seems under windows the default way pens work is that pressing and holding is equal to a right click. So unchecking that turns this off.
I also disabled "Flicks" as well in same dialog box and I thought it may affect how my pen works when drawing.

  • Using Photoshop on Windows 8.1 and on Mac

I currently have a Photoshop CC license that I use on Windows 8.1 I plan to buy a MacBook pro. Can I use same license on Mac and still occasionaly use it on my Windows machine?

Yes, you can activate the software on a maximum of two computers simultaneously, regardless of operating system. Mac/Mac, Win/Win or Mac/Win are all OK.

  • Using Photoshop CC 2014 on a Windows Tablet without a keyboard and mouse

Using Photoshop CC 2014 on a Windows Tablet without a keyboard and mouse can be quite a challenge. Even if you use the experimental 2x UI. You can not use your fingers or to quickly change tools and change settings. You have no shortcut without popping up Windows touch keyboard or leave it up taking a great deal of screen space.  If you're using the 2x UI Photoshop uses the screen at half resolution so it displays 1/4 the amount of pixels it could.
Fortunately I found a little touchkey utility on the web the lets you design your own touch keyboards. The can be transparent and you can even paint under them as long as you start the stroke  outside the keyboard area. The keyboards can be toggles on and off so you can actually use Photoshop.  The utility is small and requires not installation can be run form anywhere.  I purchased a Surface Pro 3 a week ago.  Its a full fledge PC.  Through the home group I can access all machines in my house and using network shares I can access all files on my machines and the network drive on my router,  I can print on my Epson 4800 printer. I can show slideshow on my HDTV via   Bluetooth using a Microsoft wireless display adapter.   I can plug in my Wacom Intuos Pro wireless receiver into the USB  3 port and use my Wacom tablet.  Have a very touchy machine.  Touch on the keyboard touch pad touch on the Display display and on the Wacom tablet.  Could have touch on a mouse but I prefer the Microsoft comfort bluetooth mouse that has six buttons and a four way wheel.
As a tablet its under two pounds.  Its quite impressive cost why mor the an iPad but worth the cost to me for with windows I can get at the file system.   If you have a Surface Pro 3 you should check out  "Touchkey" its handy.

Do a screen screen capture and post it here so we can see what you stating about a white layout...
