Someone mind answering a few questions?

I have a coupld of questions that may be kind of specific and I kind of need the answers explained in layman's terms. I'm new to Adobe video editing, so please be gentle.
I am doing a video project for school with a few friends. We shot on a Canon Optura 40 (records with tape). I got imported the footage into an AVI file and I imported that into my trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 (I recently got After Effects for another project). I have edited the footage a bit and then my friend calls me. He says that he wants to edit it after I do.
So my first question is can I transfer an Adobe Premiere project (on trial version) to my friends computer (he has the full version)? Will everything be able to transfer over? Should I not edit a particular thing (effects, etc) because it won't transfer? And how would I go about doing it?
All I've done so far is cut all the actual footage together. Should I just stop and get him to edit it all? He'd be rather annoyed if he had to do it all, so I will try anything I guess. He says that I need to put it on a DVD but I don't know if that will work.
Thanks for the help in advance!

The trial version of Premiere Pro is no different from the full version (except that the trial version expires after 30 days).

  • I need someone to answer a  few Find my Iphone App questions?

I lost my phone overseas...I got too drunk and lost it at some bar..I thought I was lucky because I had signed up for the find my iphone app on the ICloud. When I tried to locate my Iphone through the services, It couldn't find my Iphone because it was "OFFLINE" I assume it was because it was out of battery, making it impossible to find it now.
So I requested that my phone be put it in "lost mode", but since it's currently offline, it's Pending! I also added a contact number and a 50$ reward for the return of my phone, so the next time my phone is turned on and connects to the internet, it will lock and the stranger using my phone won't be able to get in to it and steal my info right?...But, seeing as my time is almost up being overseas, it seems very unlikely I'll be getting my phone back. So I might have to get a new phone!
My Question is, if I click on "Erase Iphone" now, it will erase all the data on my phone, And it won't be able to be tracked anymore, that's all fine and good. But the thing is, since my phone is currently off line, it's currently a pending action and won't erase the data unless it's turned on and connected to the internet again....SO, if I were to get a New Iphone, (I am eligible to uprgrade) it would be risky right? Because if I get a new Iphone and get all comfy with a new iphone, and someone turns on my old IPhone, the "Erase Iphone" request will commence and it will delete all the data on my old iphone as well as my NEW iphone right?
Cause I will be using the same Apple ID for my new Iphone! I can only assume that this is how it works....Apple isn't very clear on how stuff like that works.
    PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

You don't need to worry.  It won't delete anything from iCloud or your new phone, it will only erase the data on the lost phone, and that will only happen if it ever goes online again.

  • Mind answering some basic questions for a few bright HS students?

I am a HS computer science teacher who seeks a professional mentor regarding JDBC. While I have successfully
    - installed a MySQL database,
    created, queried, updated the database,
    - read the Java Tutorial and:
used Connect/J and written a main method to manipulate a
    database
created very simple applets to query or update a database with
    their run methods.
I have basic questions about how pieces fit together in web application development and how one can best take advantage of OOP when dealing with a database. My motivation are a few very bright post-AP students who have an excellent grasp of OOP and data structures; they are curious to see how Java is used in web applications.
The sample code I have found on the Web has all been small main method examples. I would like to see and discuss a truly OOD application with JDBC, and to discuss how the pieces fit together.
So, aware of our ignorance and of how dangerous a little knowledge can be, and not expecting to go live with an application anytime soon, we seek a very high level understanding of current professional practice (like: "Where does tomcat fit in here?") as well as some direction while we get our hands dirty. (I hope that makes sense.)
If you have time to correspond with us via e-mail, answer some very basic questions, and perhaps take a look at some code as we work through it, we would love to hear from you off-line ([email protected]). We would also appreciate knowing where to look for a good OOD sample application. Thanks.

Complete this tutorial and you will have a much better understanding.

  • Info. that may help you or answer a few questions

    Hello fellow iPod-ers!
Recently I, like many of you, updated to iTunes v.7 and iPod s-ware v.1.2. Here a few things that I have noticed that may or may not answer some questions.
With the new update on my iPod: (30GB 5gen.)
I now have gapless playback, which is the best thing to happen to MP3's since the iPod, IMHO.
I have brightness control, which I used once to lower the brightness, handy, but not a deal breaker for me.
I have "Quick Scroll" don't know if that's the official title, but a letter will show up in the middle of the screen when you are scrolling thru a long list. This has come in handy. I don't have the alphabetical search, where you can use the wheel to select letters, but I don't think I would use it anyway.
I have volume limiter, I believe this was included with s-ware update v.1.1 that was released early 2006.
I am able to import games off of iTunes, which I now play Tetris until I kill the battery
I am not sure about the improved battery life that is supposed to be a result of the s-ware, just because I haven't done a test to determine that. I just push play while I'm at work, and I've never run out of battery yet.
I haven't run into any problems thus far using my iPod with the new s-ware, thankfully. I'm not sure why so many people have.
Hope this helps if anyone was curious as to what to expect with the new updates.

Which model do you currently own? If I were going to purchase a 'new' machine, I would visit the Apple refurbished store and purchase a 15" 2012 NON-RETINA model. It's user upgradable , has USB 3.0 ports (a big plus for me) and is fairly recent. I don't know what I'll do when my machine eventually dies - I've already purchased a Windows notebook to replace it - but I don't see myself giving up on Macs entirely.
The only NEW non-Retina machine that Apple sells is the 13" model - if you can live with a 13" screen, you might want to look it over. Otherwise, I would shop for a refurb mid-2012 15" machine.
    Good luck,

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN ACCESS MY ITUNES CREDIT DOLLARS TO BUY A LIFE FOR CANDY CRUSH???

There is no need to shout.
What happens when you to try to buy it ? If you have a balance on your account then that should be automatically used, you can't/don't need to specify how it's charged.

  • Maybe someone can answer this odd question...

I've had an iBook G4 since November and this question has been killing me ever since: What are the two little hinged corner pieces on the charger for???
When I plug my iBook into the wall, the module that actually plugs into the wall has two little corner pieces that swing out, almost like hooks. What are these for?!?!?!
This very serious question has plagued me from day one. Thanks!

Wow... Thanks for that enlightenment.... I never even considered the possibilities of the charging module...

  • How do I thank someone who answered an archived question?

Several times I've found a solution to a problem in an archived thread, therefore have no way to acknowledge them. If there is a way I'd like to know it. And if not, I'll just share my thanks to those who take the time to respond to questions or who post solutions they've discovered. You all have my gratitude and I try to pay it forward whenever possible. So, thank you!

Queries on the forums cover every topic under the sun. Everybody has some expertise about something.
If you see a query about things you know about, stop for a minute and add your knowledge to the thread. That's the best way I know to "pay it forward".
The guys with a zillion points do not do this to get the points -- they do it because they like to help, and the points sometimes come to them in response, sometimes not.

  • Someone PLEASE answer this simple question

what are the technical specs on the line input for the audigy 2 zs? high/low impedance? voltage level? anything please, creative has no really DETAILED specs on their products.
    thanks
    L_E

Reasonably sure it's high impedance, designed for 2v peak-peak (ie. -v peak to +v peak), with the playback volume control an analog attenuator which affects recording, and the recording volume control digital with a x2 multiplier (i.e. 0dB is approx at 50% position).
One thing this means is that a "too-hot" signal can be attenuated to match the 2Vp-p ADC range to prevent digital clipping of it.
Yes, CL has a reluctance to say more than necessary about internal details.

  • Looking for tjacobs to answer a few questions about his StandardPrint Class

    Hello,
Hopefully tjacobs will see this post and answer it as soon as he has time. I am trying to use your Standard Print class in a program I am developing to Print a JPanel in a JScrollPane and am running into trouble. I will have more info for you if you can find it in your heart to reply.
    Thank you,
    Ray Jaramillo

I'm in exactly the same boat as you... gonna be using it as my primary computer, graduating college soon, and my first mac. I'll be going with the 13 inch MacBook Air.
The Pro and the Air are nearly identical performance-wise and so that means the only advantage of the Pro is the storage space (unless you count the cd drive as an advantage). The Air is way more portable and has a better display, I don't know about you but my current cd drive rarely gets used so might as well get rid of it.
I have also compared them side-by-side in the store and that was really what won me over to the Air. The 11-inch Air was there too but the screen just seems too small, especially if you are doing work/writing essays etc.
    Hope that helped

  • Adopting LR3 - A Few Questions

This one is long winded and I’m somewhat of a noob to the Adobe LR/PS world so I appreciate your patience with me...
I’m in the process of switching from a PC to a 2010 Mac Mini (2.6Mhz / 4GB / 320GB HD) primarily for working with digital photographs. I’ve been using PSE8 for windows for a few months now, but have picked up LR3 for the Mac as well as PSE8. Since I’ve not migrated anything from the PC yet, I’m looking to see if someone can answer a few questions:
I’ve got about 25,000 photos totaling about 105 GB.  If I migrate these directly to the Mac hard drive, it will just about fill up the HD  (my existing iTunes library is fairly large). How different is the performance working with LR3 / PSE8 when photos are on the HD versus an external, say FireWire drive?
I believe the LR3 catalog is only storing meta data, so it should not be anywhere as large as my 105 GB photo folder, correct? So the result of having my photos and the LR3 catalog on my HD would not max out the HD, right?
If I end up moving my photos to an external FireWire drive should the LR3 catalog be on that drive or on the HD?
Again, I appreciate your input and patience with me.
    Thanks,
    Bill

How different is the performance working with LR3 / PSE8 when photos are on the HD versus an external, say FireWire drive?
Probably you'll see some marginal benefit if the photos are on a separate drive (assuming a high bandwidth connection), since you'll have less concurrent access (system/catalog/photos).
I believe the LR3 catalog is only storing meta data, so it should not be anywhere as large as my 105 GB photo folder, correct?
The catalog itself will take a couple of hundred of megabytes. But there's also the preview cache that is much larger. At about 1MB per photo, the whole cache will take some 25GB.
If I end up moving my photos to an external FireWire drive should the LR3 catalog be on that drive or on the HD?
As you like, but I guess it's better to keep it on the internal drive. For performance (though, Mini's laptop HDs have questionable performance, I guess) and accessibility: you'll be able to use the catalog with your external drives offline.

  • Considering ipod touch over ipod classic, a few questions

Hello, I was hoping some of the current users of the iPod touch 2nd generation cna answer a few questions for me concerning the ipod touch, particularly those with an ipod classic as well.
I have had a 160 GB iPod classic for about a year. I had to take it back to be replaced twice because of harddrive failures. After I got the last new one I was fed up and decided to sell it on ebay. I have heard there were issues with the 80 and 160 GBs and the 120 is much better. There is a software upgrade that includes using the genious feature on your ipod for the 120's that was never available for the 160's. And since they discontinued the 160's, I'm assuming there was definately something wrong with that and Apple is too proud to admit to it, so they just roll with the 120's. So with that in mind I figured I'd sell my current 160 since the worst I could do is get the better model of the classic?
So then I started thinking, what about an iPod touch? Here are my concerns with goign with a touch over a classic...
The WiFi would be a huge benefit. I travel a lot and often don't feel like bringing my laptop with me. So when browsing the internet, I was wondering how it worked with Hotmail? With facebook? I know youtube works, but how does it work with other sites that are heavy with Adobe FlashPlayer, like Hulu.com? Or watch news clips from CNN or other things like that.
I use my ipod a lot in my car, and I don't think the touch screen would be very good for this to switch songs, anybody have any experience with this?
The flash drive is very appealing to me since I had 2 classics harddrive fail, but the small size is a concern, anybody have any opinions?
Can the touch be used in disk mode? Does it store full resolution files of photos?
I'm not big into games, but if I had a touch I know I would start.
Will I just get spoiled and wish it was an iPhone or something with 3G connection to the net?
    Thanks for any help!

The 160GB Classic was essentially the 1st Generation Classic, it was replaced by the 2nd Generation 120GB Classic, which as you have pointed out has the Genius feature etc. With the exception of the most recent Shuffle, Apple always discontinues production of the previous generation, and it has nothing to do with Apple admitting to anything. I too had to go through 2 160s before the 3rd one worked correctly, it happens. Did the Classic you sold on eBay work correctly.
Thanks to changes by Microsoft you can now use the mail app on the Touch with a hotmail account.
There is a Facebook app in the iTunes App Store, I don't use it so I can't vouch for it but you can go to the Apps Store and read the reviews.
There is no Flash plugin available for the Touch and it is probably going to be 2010 before one is available so no you won't be able to use Hulu.com, etc.
It will be harder to switch songs on the Touch in your car unless you install an iPod connection kit (if your radio supports it, the will allow you to control the Touch from your radio/steering wheel/whatever.
If you have a large iTunes library and want it always with you then you need to lean towards the Classic. If you can live with swapping things around you can go with the Touch. A big advantage to the Touch is the plethora of applications that are available on the iTunes Store, many of them free.
You cannot currently use the Touch in disk mode (don't know if version 3.0, coming this summer will add this) and it does not store full resolution files of photos.
I had a first generation Touch which I purchased on the same day that I bought my 160GB Classic. I sold the Touch and moved to the iPhone, you get spoiled with 3G access.

  • A few questions i am no finding answers

Good afternoon everyone, i am not whining or anything i really love my ipod touch and itune store i think they are great products!! i just have a few questions that i am not finding any answers anywhere! here we go,
1)why am i not able to buy from the US tune store? i would understand if it was products that need to be physicallly transported somewhere, its download!!
2)why the movies are so expensive? you dont pay any transport, cases, printing, discs, etc? i dont mind paying 20$ for a DVD at the store, i jut pop it in the dvd player and i can watch it right away, but a movie that i download, i need take the time and money to go buy dics, take the time to burn it...
3)why the movies i bought dont have any subtitles? not only no DVD are offered in french, there is not even french subtitle, not even english subtitles!! i am not asking a lot i think
    Francois

1)why am i not able to buy from the US tune store? i would understand if it was products that need to be physicallly transported somewhere, its download!!
This has been covered here many times already, but again and in brief, because the owners of the content (who often are completely different from country to country, at least as far as licensing is concerned) do not allow cross-border sales.
You'd have to ask the movie studios that question. They're the ones to in large part set the prices. Content owners across the board - music, movies, books, etc. - have mostly kept prices at high, if not higher, than the physical equivalent. It's starting to change, but only very slowly.
3)why the movies i bought dont have any subtitles? not only no DVD are offered in french, there is not even french subtitle, not even english subtitles!!
Again, you'd have to ask the movie studios that question. Matters of content are totally under their control.
