SOMEONE SIGNED UP USING MY E-MAIL!!!

Hello, recently I received an e-mail saying welcome to skype click here to log in etc, I clicked the link to change the password so the person who signed up cannot access the account. However, I did not sign up for this service nor do I want it. How can I contact Skype regarding this, or how can I delete my account? PLEASE HELP!!!

    As the topic says I have a problem with some obstinate person who keeps registering new skype accounts using my e-mail! How can I delete those accounts and stop this person from doing this?

    I have the same issue as when I work with CS from Skype, I get an email thanking me and using someone else's name as If I am Someone else and not me.

  • Someone signed up using my email address

    Someone else signed up to itunes using my email address some time ago. I certainly did not verify it, but I did hit unsubscribe links in the emails. Despite this, I kept receiving unwanted apple marketing material. In my latest attempt to make the emails stop I reset the password, signed in and unsubscribed from the apple ID site. I also changed the primary email address to a throwaway email address, as I don't want to be notified every time this person purchases something.
    The problem is that now this person probably won't be able to access his/her account because the password and AppleID have both changed. I don't see this as my problem, but if anyone from Apple support reads this could they please let this person access this account if they are contacted by them. I did not change any contact details or the security question, so they should be able to answer those as they were entered.

    so the problem is that I'm in Greece and someone has put my e-mail address for their Apple ID in Italy...
    What can I do?
    The problem is that I ignored the e-mail thinkink that if I don't click the verification button noting will happen but instead today I received more than 10 e-mails saying the same thing...
    What can I do to prevent these e-mails? and to make the person who is using my e-mail to change it?

    I think you misunderstood me. I don't want an account. I only created one to write here. What I need is for itunes to contact this user and ask him to change his account. I can't believe how it's possible for someone to use my email as his.
    I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but I have this mail adress for 12 years and never had something like this before.

  • How was someone using my e-mail address as their Apple ID?

    First time posting, so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum.
    1) I have a primary e-mail adress that is not linked to my iTunes.  The only time this e-mail address was used in conjunction with anything Apple was when I purchased Quicktime Pro in 2006 and registered my iPod in 2007.  I do have an iTunes account with a seconday e-mail address, and log in occasionaly to listen to free podcasts (never purchasing anything)
    2) Today on my primary e-mail address, I recieved a warning that an app was downloaded, with this e-mail as the Apple ID.  This was the first e-mail I've recieved from Apple on this address since registering my iPod in 2007.
    I live alone, and don't share my electronics with anyone, so I know it's not that.  so I'm left wondering - how did someone use my e-mail address as an Apple ID?  Wouldn't I have recieved an e-mail during the initial registration this person tried to use? 
    Thankfully I have no credit card associated with Apple, so I wasn't overcharged, but this seems like a big security hole.

    The content was this:

    There is the possibility that I did change my iTunes account to my primary and just forgot, but that's doubtful considering a) today was my first e-mail from Apple since 2007 on this address and b) I'm still recieving iTunes updates on my secondary e-mail that I registered years ago. 
    Also, I don't own any devices capable of running Kingdom Conquest. Thankfully, it's a free app.  It would be interesting to see a list of other apps downloaded with this ID, if any.  Is there a way to do that?
    Maybe someone mistyped their email address when creating their account and it just happened to be yours?
    I thought that, too, but my e-mail address is [email protected]  My first name is somewhat common, my last name is definitely not.  And back to what I said earlier, I never recieved a registration e-mail from Apple, just the one above.

    Can't sign in using any 3rd party email client with my iCloud account on any Mac or any other Mac. My iCloud will only work with Mail.app. All the clients I tried work perfectly well as long as I sign in with somebody else's iCloud account. But mine won't work no matter the client (Postbox, Unibox, Airmail...) and no matter the computer.
    I can access my account on iCloud.com, but I can't use email clients without getting error messages prompting me to check my password or login.
    I was able to use those clients in the past but a couple of months ago I got logged out of Airmail and the issue started just like that!
    I tried every possible mail server settings including the following:
    IMAP information for the incoming mail server
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
    Port: 993
    Username: The name part of your iCloud email address (for example, emilyparker, not [email protected])
    Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP information for the outgoing mail server
    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
    Port: 587
    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
    Username: Your full iCloud email address (for example, [email protected], not emilyparker)
    Password: Your iCloud password

    Those are the correct settings, and they work with any email client that supports Imap.
    Try again.

  • HT4436 someone else has my ipad and has used my e-mail account but deleted my apple id

    I have an iCloud account that is synced with my iPhone, and WAS also synced with my iPad.  I no longer have my iPad (although I do have it registered under my apple id, serial number and all), but I was looking through my DRAFTS in my e-mail account and saw that the person that has my iPad had sent out an e-mail answering a Craigslist ad, and it clearly says at the bottom of the draft "SENT FROM MY iPAD." Since then, I have been unable to track my iPad through the Find My iPhone App, but I would like to find out if there's any way that I can have concrete proof that the e-mail was in fact sent from that iPad???? Please help!  The iPad is still registered under my apple ID, so technically, I own it.  I just don't want my personal information to be comrpomised, and if this person is using my e-mail address, I would like to take action.  Thanks in advance for any input.

    I doubt that there is any way to tell, and if there is, only Apple would be able to do this (but may require a court order to do so).  You would have to contact Apple support to inquire further.
    In the meantime, change your iCloud password here: https://iforgot.apple.com/iForgot/iForgot.html.  After doing so, you will have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your new password.  This will delete the account and any data you are syncing with iCloud from your phone, but not from iCloud.  Your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.
    Before deleting the account, if you have any photo stream photos that you want to save, save them to your camera roll by opening the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  This is necessary because when you reconnect to your photo stream, only photos added in the last 30 days will be streamed back to your device.

    Hi, Gustavo, and welcome to the Community,
    I know it will sound ridiculous, but if the new account was created using your e-mail address, change that account's password to take control of the account!  Remove any of your (or their) information - leave all profile settings as "blank" or "not specified."  I would recommend changing the passwords of your Skype account and your e-mail account as well, as proactive measures.

    Are you sure it isn't you?  Apple sends e-mail to the address provided which means that even if somebody did have the wild idea of signing up for an account with an address that isn't theirs, it would just end up with you receiving their e-mail and essentially being able to take over their account.
    By the way, "I'd" = "I would".  I.D. = "Identity".

    Okay, I know there has been chat about this, but does anyone know how to actually do it?
    I left BT BB about 18 months ago. Tried repeatedly to sign up for BT Premium Mail. Always failed. No clues as to how to make it work.
    Now, my BT Yahoo email account still works... I have been signing in via PAYG (well, I haven't as that doesn't seem to work nowadays ... but let's not go there right now).
    The error I get is always :
    ... after I click on the 'sign up' page

    Click on the 'Get Premium Mail' == https://register.btinternet.com/cgi-bin/registernow?version=ie5&ex=1&product_type=PMR
    And then you get the above screen.  Always.  For over 18 months.  I've tried this in various browsers ... all give same response.
    Can anyone suggest how to resolve this issue.   I've raised this before, but no-one from BT seems capable of answering this very basic question.

    Moving from BT e-mail to Premium Mail   -  by forum member alcook101
    Following moving from BT Broadband to another supplier I wanted to keep my btinternet email addresss.
    Having just wasted a lot of time trying to get this sorted out, this how I got it sorted out.
    THE FOLLOWING DOES NOT WORK:
    1) The BT website options do not work. The web page is not set up for chrome. When using internet explorer it just came up with "problem with account" when I tried to log in.
    2) Ringing 0800-633-5335 - option 3 - the operator (David) did not really know what he was doing and I got nowhere. In the usual BT way was very polite and the same time completely unhelpful.
    THE FOLLOWING WORKED:
    In the end I rang 0800-633-5335 option 2. I got through to someone called "Sid".
    He eventually took my mobile number and rang through to another department to "downgrade" my email. This is a requirement of BT before upgrading to BT Premium email.
    Sid rang me back and said it was all sorted and that the charge was £ 1.54 per month. Therefore my emails and the email address would be preserved.
    He said there was a fault with the system in which a password change would be asked for. He said to ignore this - for this situation password change is not required.
    Sid then said that billing would be separate and could not be included on a BT bill. Therefore bank details were required.
    This didn't sound too good, however I didn't have much choice. 
    When logging into my email I then got this message:
    Service Change
    Thank you for changing services.
    With this service change, you will be receiving the following level of service:
    PRODUCT LEVEL OF SERVICE
    Mailbox Storage Unlimited primary, Unlimited sub
    Photo Storage Unlimited
    Number of Sub Accounts
