Someone stole my ipod how do I find it

Someone stole my ipod how do I find it

Just keep looking and call the police.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

My iPod was stollen how do I prove it

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone/iPod Touch is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords, especially your Apple ID/iCloud password NOW!
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, and running iOS 7.0, then phone cannot be activated or the passcode removed without knowing your Apple iD/Password. It will be nothing but a useless paperweight.
If not running iOS 7.0, the phone can be forced into recovery mode & restored.

  • Someone stole my iPod, how can I tell if they connected it to itunes and restored it?

I need to know how to track whether they've restored it to make it their own or not..

No. All you have to do is place the iPod in recovery mode (erases the iPod) and restore via iTunes.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • If someone stole my iPod, how easy it is for this person to steal my information?

I just lost my iPod touch.
It could be lost or stolen by someone on purpose.
I would like to know how easy it is for others to hack into my iPod touch to read information in it?
I would like to report the loss/stolen to a police.
Should I erase the content through iCloud first or after the reporting?
Well, it is also related to how easy for this person to hack into my iPod.........

Erase the iPod now if you can. Does it show up in FIndMyiPhone in iCloud?
Yes report to police and change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod.
I have been told that with a a four digit passcode one, with the proper computer program gain access in a little less than an hour. Having the iPod set up to erase the iPod after 10 failed attempts does not function if you try accessing the iPod via the dock connector. With a long, complex passcode it is very secure.

  • Someone stole my Ipod and I cant find the Serial number anywhere even my Apple Support Profile says I never even bought a Ipod. What do I do?

    can someone help me?

Are you quite certain you are using the same Apple ID you used to register the iPod in My Support Profile? If there is a possibility you may have used another you may be able to determine which here:
    http://iforgot.apple.com
Other than that you will have to rely upon your original order information, sales invoice, or similar documentation. If you bought it online from Apple these documents would have been emailed to you. I believe registering the iPod in My Support Profile will also. So, check your email archives if at all possible. Gmail and similar services have a long memory.

  • Someone stole my iPod Touch 4th! How do I find it?

Hi I really need answers, Someone stole my iPod Touch 4th at a store. I tried using Find my iPhone and I've refreshed it over and over again and it says it's offline. Does my warranty cover this? Also if I report it to the police how will I find it if it is not connected to the Internet? Or does my iPod have a certain number that either if the person deleted all of my data I can still find it? Please answer, I only had that iPod, I can't buy another one!

    - If the person restores the iPod, you will no longer be able to locate the iPod or do anything with it. The Find feature is esssentually worthless for a stolen iPod since the persons can turn it off and restore it.
    - Apple will not help find the iPod or do anything else.
    - Report it to the police and change the passwards for all accounts used on the iPod.

someone stole my ipod touch at school! How can i find it?

iPods get stolen at schools all of the time. Report it to school staff and to the police. You may want to give them the serial number of the iPod, which you can get from here: (you'll need to know the Apple ID and password that are associated with the iPod)

What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:
