Someone stole my ipod. How do I retrieve the songs I bought?

Someone stole my ipod from my home. But I had bought at least 30 songs on my ipod. I usually sync it about once a month to back up my music but they stole it before I had the chance. How can I retrieve the songs that bought on it so that I wouldn't have to pay twice? Can anyone help with that?

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

You buy one and only one download.
It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
Certainly you did not update your ipod without making sure that you had transferred anything purchased on the ipod to your computer and included it in your regular backup copy of your computer.

You can also create a Smart Playlist with the option "Kind contains Protected". Since purchased music is of kind "Protected AAC File", that playlist will contain all music and videos you've purchased.

I have been told that with a a four digit passcode one, with the proper computer program gain access in a little less than an hour.
