Someone stole my ipod is there a way i can find it or track it with the serial number
my ipod touch got stolen, and i was wondering if there was a way to track it cause the police arnt doing any thing. i have the serial number.

To delete your iCloud account from Settings>iCloud they have to enter your ID password.
The can place the iPod in Recovery mode and they restore the iPod but they will have to enter your iCloud ID and PW to activate the iPod.

My Ipad (and backpack, laptop, & other stuff) was stolen at the Portland Oregon Airport at 1:30 PM on 2/27/12.
unfortunately I had not turned on the Find My Ipad function. I do have the serial number and the IMEI number (although I never enabled the 3g function).
Is there any way to locate or track this?
Earlier discussions suggest this can't be done, but I have registred the laptop with Apple.No.
Apple are not in the business of tracing your stolen iPad, any more than the manufacturer of your car will trace that if stolen.
Tell your service provider (now, before the thief spends a few thousand on international calls....), the police and your insurer. -
I have the opportunity to buy CS3, but there is no serial number with it. Is there a way to find the serial number or get one for the software?

When i was at school I left my Ipad at a table and forgot it but i realise it when i got out of the room it was in the cafeteria it only took like five minutes for them to stole it. i had find my iphone app but it seems they turn it off or restore my Ipad. is there a chance i can track it with just the serial number?

If you had already set up the FindMyiPod feature (Settings>iCloud) and wifi is on then may be able to find its general location by going to icloud.com, signing in and going to FIndMyiPhone. Note that it can dfeaed by turning the iPod off or restoring the iPod. Otherwise yu will have to look for it the old fashioned way. Apple will not help
Report it to the police and change the passwards for all accounts used on the iPod. -
Is the back button drop down arrow replaced by the little arrow next to the star on the bar?
Maybe it didn't install correctly, I have Windows XP if that makes a difference. I know from the tour when the new one loaded there is supposed to be a bookmarks thing next to the new location for home but it's not on there either. It's still on my toolbar so I don't care enough to fix it so there is no need for anyone to address it, I just put the info in case it tells you something about it not installing properly.

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

I lost my Black iPhone 5, 2 days ago. Someone stole it. Find my iPhone app wasn't installed, it's not on. Is there any way I can turn on "Find my IPhone" on my phone from my computer or can I track it with the serial number ? Please help.
I guess no but they can't use it because most likely they restored it and the name of your find my iphone will disappear on your computer even if it is on because it does not have your name anymore.

I need answers on how to find or track my 8GB Ipod Touch. The only thing i have is my phone and the computer to track it down somehow. I have the serial number and I just need help trying to locate it somehow.
You can't track it with the serial number. If you had an iPod Touch running iOS 5 later AND set up Find my IPod on it, then there is a chance you might be able to locate it by going to www.icloud.com, logging in with your Apple ID and clicking Find my IPod. Of course, the iPod still needs to be on and connected to a Wi-Fi network in order for it to be located.
If nothing else, report it to the police and change any and all passwords to any accounts you set up or used on the iPod.
Apple otherwise cannot help you.

What happens of someone stole my ipod is there anyway to get another one besides buying a whole new one? Does anyone know? And why does it have to be connected to the internet for it to locate my apple devices? There should be a locating chip in it already. Better ideas here..
You'll have to buy a new one, unless it is covered in some kind of insurance that you have.
