Someone stole my ipod touch while i was at school no tracker what can i do?

About a month ago my ipod touch was stolen. I have asked people on facebook and around school if they have seen it. I asked the front office if any one turned it in but they said no. What can ido to track it or something?

All you can do is report it to the police.  Also, change the passwards for all accounts used on the iPod.  Apple will not help.

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

  • Someone stole my iPod Touch 4th! How do I find it?

Hi I really need answers, Someone stole my iPod Touch 4th at a store. I tried using Find my iPhone and I've refreshed it over and over again and it says it's offline. Does my warranty cover this? Also if I report it to the police how will I find it if it is not connected to the Internet? Or does my iPod have a certain number that either if the person deleted all of my data I can still find it? Please answer, I only had that iPod, I can't buy another one!

    - If the person restores the iPod, you will no longer be able to locate the iPod or do anything with it. The Find feature is esssentually worthless for a stolen iPod since the persons can turn it off and restore it.
    - Apple will not help find the iPod or do anything else.
    - Report it to the police and change the passwards for all accounts used on the iPod.

  • Someone stole my iPod Touch! how can I delete my data (notes, e-mails, photos) and lock it?

    Hello!,
Someone stole my iPod Touch 4g, I didn't have "find my  iPod" app.
I have a serial number on my iPod.
Whether Apple can delete my data (notes, e-mails, photos) from my iPod and lock it?
    HELP

Unless you turned on Find My under Settings > iCloud there is nothing more that anyone here or at Apple can do to help.
Report the theft to the police, change all passwords associated with accounts on the iPod.

iPods get stolen at schools all of the time. Report it to school staff and to the police. You may want to give them the serial number of the iPod, which you can get from here: (you'll need to know the Apple ID and password that are associated with the iPod)

No app on the iPod is required.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police and school
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

    Hello Becky,
Have you double checked to make sure it hasn't been moved to a different page or folder?  Double check your iPod's Restrictions as well to make sure it hasn't been disabled.  To do this, head to Settings -> General -> Restrictions.
Default Apps that came with your iPod or Apple's iOS cannot be removed.

my IPod touch froze and its not responding at all what can i do to fix it?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

There is a technique to dry the phone out, but by the time it dries out you would have your replacement phone anyway. Even so, the water damaged phone is likely never going to work 100% again.
