I want to report it to Apple but dont know how to go about it. I want the Apple ID deleted. How do I go about that? Is there also a way to ensure that the email address wont be used again by this person to create another Apple ID?
This is compounded actually by a Gmail issue. I have had this email address for ages, since the start of the beta. But lately in the last year or so, I am getting mail that seems to be intended for other people but it is using my email address. It is probably one of them who created the Apple ID.

Of you're being phished. There are a lot of phishing scams going around right now with bad guys trying to get access to apple ID's.
Anytime you want to verify the info, do not click on any links in the mail, but open up iTUnes on your computer and check things out that way.

Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Create a new email address, for example at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address as long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support. -

You are at least the second person to post the same thing today, so I don't know if there are problems with it. You clicked on the link to send reset info to your rescue email address as shown in steps 1 to 5 of the page that you posted from, and you've checked your spam folder as well as your Inbox ?

I keep receiving notification emails as someone is trying to/has set up a new Apple ID by using my email address.
This person is trying to verify it as primary but, as a matter of fact it is me who gets all the 'spam'.
I don't know how to get in touch with this person as dropping him/her an email would mean writing to myself.
How can I report this issue to Apple?

Does anyone know how to stop and preventing someone from using my email address? It says it's coming from Verizon. net moblie. I thought verizon put measures in place to prevent this sort of thing from happening?

Always check before entering your login info into ANY page that it is a legitimate Verizon page. Never give your username and password to anyone, even if they claim to be from Verizon. Someone using my email address
From yesterday I have had hundreds of Failure Notices saying we were unable to send your email successfully go all these weird email accounts ending in .ru amongst others. Someone is obviously using my email it looks like in Africa. They start at 6.25 at night right through to 3.30am. I changed my as sword at 3.40 am yesterday morning after googling it but they came through all last night again. I am very worried . Should I shut down my email address?? Is that permanent ? Do I need to start a new account with a brand new email address? Please help!

Someone I don't know is using my email address as their Apple ID to sign and purchase apps ect and I keep getting notifications in my emails. How do I stop them from using my email address????????
If a person is using your email address, you should change your email password and make sure there aren't any forwards to some strange email address.
An example if you were using gmail, under account settings, a forward can be set up to send messages to another email address.
If your email address is say, you own domain, such as somename@somename dot com, make sure the forwards are forwards you set up.
If your email account was hacked and the bad guy has access, you need to cut him off, first by changing the password and second cut off any message forwarding to the bad guy if he set it up. Just changing the password would keep a bad guy out, but if the bad guy set up a forward, he will still get your email.
A confirmation from Apple would have come to your email address in order to confirm that Apple ID. If you are getting the other person's purchase notifications, you would have gotten a confirmation of that account from Apple. -

(I'm not calling because they're in Canada.) They have credit in the iTunes store, and there's no real reason to think they're nefarious, but I'd like them to stop using my email address!

Someone in France is using my email address for an Apple ID.
Just bought my first iPhone 24 hours ago. Tried to create an Apple ID. Someone in France is apparently using my email address for their own account. Whenever I try to redeem the code on an App Store card I just bought, a message pops up that I presume says I can't use the code in France. Then iTunes and the App Store revert to French settings. I can reset the language to Canadian english on my laptop, but iTunes and the App Store on my iPhone remain in French. I've tried resetting my iPhone, to no avail. Very frustrated because I only get email support, and have to wait 24 hours for a reply. When I looked at my account, there is someone else's personal information, including credit card info. WHY?????????????//

When I started setting up my own Apple ID with my own email address, I eventually had to reset the associated password, thinking I had made this Apple ID earlier. Then when I logged into the account, it turned out to be someone else's account. Help, how do I fix this so I have my Apple ID associated with my email address and the other person knows to change their Apple ID email address?
