Something has happened during boot up with my video display. It starts out smaller than usual then does something crazy across the screen before correcting itself. Any idea how to correct this?

I recently used my macbook pro for a video presentation. Now when I boot up the computer the moniter does some crazy thing. It starts off small, then some wierd streak comes across my screen, then it finally corrects itself. Does anyone have any idea how to correc this?
