Something has to give. This is rediculous...SATA write speed.

I've been asking and asking but haven't found anyone with the knowledge to help yet. My system is based on a P6N SLI-FI mobo and here are the stats:
P6N SLI-FI BIOS v2.0
P4 650
2 - 1Gb modules of DDR2-667
2 - 169Gb 3Gb/s 7200RPM SATA drives in RAID 0 striped
1 - 48x DVD optical drive
WinXP Home w/sp2
Here's the trouble:
The write speed to the drives is incredibly slow. Not to mention it take over 2 minutes to go into hibernation but, I tested the transfer speed by installing a 628Mb game. It took about 15 minutes to copy the files of that game disc to the HDDs.
Wanting to dig deeper I installed the 628Mb game onto another, much slower system. Here's the stats for the slower system:
Asus A7N8X-X mobo
2 - 512Mb DDR-400
1- 80Gb 7200 RPM PATA drive
1- 48x DVD optical drive
WinXP Home w/sp2
It took about 3 minutes to copy the 628Mb game disc to the HDD on this slower system.
I've looked in the BIOS of the MSI board and can't find anything unusual but I'm not an expert, just a novice.
The MSI system goes into hibernation very, very slowly and write files very very slowly. Something is amiss.
I'd appreciate any help I can get.

As for hibernation, the more physical memory you have, the longer it takes to write it to the drive. Also check and make sure there is not a program interfering with hibernation, end all the processes you are able to in task manager and see if that helps. Is there a particular reason you want it to hibernate vs. standby?

PSU is a Corsair HX620W. +12v Rail amp are 18, 18 and 18. Videocard is an EVGA GeForce 7800GT CO Non-SLI mode.
Reinstalled WinXP, put back the 1Gb of Ballistix (DDR2-533 x 4) had 2Gb G.Skill (DDR2-667 x 2).
Hibernation still takes almost 3 min. System hasn't crashed yet but I haven't yet fully installed all of the programs I use, which never cause problems on any other PC I've ever used them on.
I'm in the process of downloading and installing all of the Windows updates. After that I'll install the latest drivers for this mobo. Then I'll install PowerDVD 4. I bet it'll crash then. The previous state of this MSI system seemed to hate PDVD 4.

I should have mentioned that I have already done the Resolving Permissions as outline on Apple Support pages, but, I went ahead and did the complete sequence as shown on Dr. Smokes.
I decided to stop beating a dead horse and did an Erase and Install of 10.2 again since I did not have anything on there yet. So far, everything is working perfectly. I am doing the Software Updates called for one by one to see if any of those caused the problem.
The only thing I did other than doing all of the updates after the install was to install OS 9.2 for my Classic Environment software and I also installed an HP PSC 1315v All-In-One scanner/printer. I cannot imagine that would have done anything.
I did have some strange issues with Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego and The Star Fleet Technical manual so I may stay away from them unless I start in OS 9 if none of the other updates cause any issues.

Did you try deleting the mail account, then adding it back? I've read a lot of times that is what needs to happen in order for it to work properly.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

If you are using an unsecured or shared wireless network, then it could be just another user's computer name. If your sharing settings are correct, you have no worry. However, It would appear that at least some of the other user's settings are less than optimal inasmuch as his/hers is openly being displayed.
The next time you check into a hotel and use their wireless network, you are likely to see a number of other user's computers. Some just the name, as they share no files. While others are wide open, and their file sharing is on.

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.

It is a two stage update. First update just preps the phone .. not sure what it does really.. most likely removes some Verizon changes to make the real upgrade work correctly. Connect to wifi and check for the update.

Don't panic, it's just the preview cache. Find your catalog on the hard drive - usually in the Pictures folder called Lightroom 5 Catalog.lrcat by default. You'll see a *Previews.lrdata folder there. Rename it and restart LR.
LR will have to rebuild previews, but then everything should be ok. You can let LR rebuild the previews as you need them, or you can select them in Grid view and go to Library menu > Previews > Render Standard Sized previews.
Once you're happy that everything's rebuilt, you can delete the one you previously renamed.
