Something is stuck in my headphone exit.

Tried to connect my headphones to my ipod nano when i noticed that it only would go halfway in. I look inside the exit and obviously something is stuck in there.
Any idea about how to get it out?

This has never happened to me before. But I will tell you what I would do if it did: get one of those wooden BBQ skewer sticks, put superglue on the flat end, and insert into hole. The risk here is that you cannot let the glue touch the sides, or anything else besides that foreign object. Let the glue dry, and pull the stick out. Hopefully, it will pull out whatever is in there. Let me know :-)

My son had the tip of his 3.5mm jack broken off inside his MacbookPro.
I could see that there was a small cylindrical section visible I was able with two v.small screwdrivers shaft < 1mm to get one on either side and dislodge the remains of the jack! So there's hope! Regards

  • Headphone sound option gets stuck even when headphones have been removed.

I use my headphone jack to play music from my pre on my car stereo.  My pre is also bluetoothed for phone calls through my vehicle.  The phone constantly gets stuck on the headphone option and will not switch to bluetooth even when the jack has been disconected.  I then have to shut down the bluetooth and restart it to get the phone to work.  What is the point of bluetooth if I have to manually fiddle with it while I am driving.  The bluetooth should overide the headphone jack and then drop back to headphone when the call is over.  My palm treo had absolutely no problems doing this.  I have been complaining about this for awhile now perhaps on the wrong boards, under bluetooth sync problems.  Please find a fix for this as it is really anoying.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Bell)

Yes I did try that when I had the no sound issue and it fixed it.  This is a different issue.  The real issue is that I cannot reliably use my bluetooth if I use any other option wether it be headphone or speaker or regular phone for that matter.  The phone will get stuck on whatever option was being used and won't go to bluetooth even when you click on it in the phonecall mode.  I have been complaining about this from the day I purchased the phone.  I had complained about this at an earlier date in the bluetooth syncing issues section of the site not realizing at the time that this is not a sync issue but something else.  I should be able to have my headjack plugged in and the bluetooth should overide ride it when a phone call comes in.  My palm trio never had this issue and was being used in the same fassion.  I really need a fix for this as I am probably in my car most of the time  using my Pre exactly as I described to you.   Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and I never know when it's going to do it.  I use my phone for business so this can also be a bit embarassing when I can't pick up a clients call or I have to hang up on a client because I can't get the phone to switch over.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

  • If Apple EarPods just randomly decided to break into 2 pieces and get stuck in the headphone jack, will Apple replace or repair the iPad for free?

After I was done listening to some music, I of course puller out the EarPods from the headphone jack. But then I noticed how the tip broke into 2, so half of the tip is stuck in the headphone jack. Since they were Apple EarPods, and I didn't inflict any damage to them, would I receive a free repair or replacement on my iPad?

Are you still under warranty? You're going to have a tough time convincing them it wasn't your fault they broke, I predict. In any case, someone else had a good idea on one of these types of threads: take it to an electronics shop as they probably deal with this situation quite frequently.

  • Something is stuck in my fan

I'm hearing clicking noises from the top part of my macbook, and at first thought it was a hard drive problem, but after removing the battery cover and listening to my hard drive realized that it wasn't my hard drive making the noise. I looked online for a bit, and I think it might be a fan problem, especially since I can't hear it coming on at all anymore even when my computer gets very hot.
Is this something I can fix myself? Does theclicking mean that there is something stuck in the propellers or can it also mean that the fan is dying?

... Sounds as if something is stuck in the fan.
Probably is. They get dusty. Shut down your computer and clean it out with a vacuum (don't blow dust back inside).

  • IPod Touch is stuck in the headphone mode.

The speakers of my iPod Touch just won't work. When I increased the volume, it showed 'headphones' in brackets even when I hadn't plugged them in. My iPod is stuck in the headphone mode which means I can't watch videos or listen to music without my headphones on. I can't even listen to the notifications and the alarm clock is useless. What should I do?

    - Cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the the headphone plug a dozen times or so.
    - Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a bad headphone jack. Apple will exchange your iPod for refurbished one for this price. They will not fix yours.

  • Something is stuck in my iPod's headphones hole.

Yesterday I tried plugging a headphone in my iPod. I realized there was something in the way. I tried taking it out but the headphones made it worse. Now my iPod sees whatever is blocking the way as an headphone so I can't even hear any sound from my iPod. What shall I do?

  • Is there a way to use Internal Mac Speakers with something stuck in the headphone jack?

A while ago, I broke a pair of headphones in the jack of my Macbook Pro. This means I can't use the external speakers either, and it's very annoying. It's now been a year, and I have been getting by with a combination of using Wifi2Hifi, a USB audio adaptor, and switching to Windows to use my speakers. Is there any way I can override the Mac software to make my speakers available to use like they are in Windows? I lost my USB adaptor a couple days ago, and I really don't want to wait for a new one to come in the mail if I can just get my internal speakers to work. I would prefer to use Mac because I have 12,000 songs in my itunes and my external Hard Drive is formatted to Mac, so when I want to watch the movies I have stored on it, I can't do it in Windows.
Also, I'm aware of the "Use Audio port for:" option, but I can't select this. I see the text, but there's no dropdown menu.

If you have Office 2004, it won't run on Lion. You have three options:
    1. Upgrade to Office 2008 or 2011 for Mac
    2. Download the free Office suite Libreoffice
    3. Buy Apple's 'Numbers' (for spreadsheets), 'Pages' (for word processing) programs and/or 'Keynote' (for powerpoint) from the App store. Combined cost is still a lot cheaper than Office and they will read and export is all Office formats.
A fourth option, if you can't live without 2004 for some reason, would be to revert to Snow Leopard.

  • I have a problem with my home butten, its working but when i press it, it seems like something is stuck in it. like sand or something like that, and this is the second time it happens to me with 2 devices. what can i do?

Ok so first sorry for my english, Im not American.
2 months ago i bought a new Iphone 4 device from my phone company, after a month something happened to the home butten, when i pressed it it felt like something stuck in it.. like sand or dirt.. but the home butten worked perfectly. so i went to the phone company and they told me that it is a problem and they replaced it with a new one. but after a week my iphone fell and something happened to him so i sold it to someone i know, and with that money i bought a new one from privet store (unlike the last time, when i bought my iphone in a big phone company) and in the begining it felt new, i didnt had any problems, but 2 days ago when i woke up i pressed the butten and i noticed that the problem with the home butten is back.. and i dont know what to do.. i mean like its not a big deal or something, it just that when i buy something new, i excpet it to be new, and i want to ejnoy it while its new.
so i went to some guy i know and he told me that he will see what he can do, i paid him 130 Shekels (35$) and he told my that he replaced the butten with new one, but still it makes problems. it bothers me alot, because i pay almost 300 shekels per month (75$) and i expect from this device to be new.. and its killing me.
now, i cant go to the phone company because thats not their device, and i know what the people in the privet store will tell me.. that its my fault and bla bla bla.. so what can i do? i cant spend any more money on this..
its new.. for some reason this always happenes to me.. 3 devices, problems problems and problems..

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

  • Something's wrong with my headphone jack, it only plays the left side!!

I know it's not my headphones, cause I've tried 4 different ones, one of them new, and it''s always the left side that's the only working side. If I wiggle the headphones in the jack, the right side will cut in and out. This just happened today, I have no idea why. I didn't drop it, or get it wet or anything, I have no idea what couldv'e caused it. I've had the iPod since the beginning of this year, I don't think I registered it or got a warrenty or anything, I'm not sure how'd I'd check though. Can Apple fix this or can I fix it myself or what would you guys suggest? Thanks.

That happened with me also when I bought my skull candy headphones(iPods headphones hurt my ears). My headphones also worked for a while and then went to a point where I could only hear out of one side. I finally reverted back to the iPods headphones. I just stuck with the original headphones. Maybe I'll buy some of their more comfortable ones.
Also try not winding your headphone cord around the iPod too tightly. I looked somewhere else and someone said that that could be the problem. If you do wrap the excess cord around the iPod, try wrapping them around not as tight. I tried that and I got some extra life out of my old headphones. I would probably still be wearing them if I hadn't stepped on the jack and bent them.
I'm sorry that this is so long. Hope this helped.
