Hello there,
I have a Linksys WRT54G2 v1.0 - as recommended most here in forums, the router's firmware should be updated for improved performance, but I have a problem, when I updated my router to v1.0.04 firmware, my router always JAMS, either my router suddenly lose connectivity cannot be pinged, or the router's POWER LED always blinking, this was recently always happened when I updated the firmware unlike I use the older firmware before (v1.0.03 and below).
I guess the v1.0.04 firmware has another bug was occured.
Is there a link for an older firmware versions of WRT54G2 v1.0, I think I should downgrade my firmware to make it work properly as old times.

Yes, upgrading the router's firmware improve the performance.However if you are unable to upgrade through the Linksys GUI then use the TFTP utility to upgrade the firmware....Download 44.3 KB the tftp utility and save it on the dekstop
Download 1.71 MB the firmware for WRT54G2 v2 and save it on the dekstop.
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Double click the TFTP.exe file and click run.
For Server- Enter the IP Address of the router that you assigned. By default, the router is 192.168.1.1...
For Password- Enter the password you assigned the router. By default, the router’s password is “admin”.
For File- Click the triple “…” button and browse for the .bin firmware file...
Click Upgrade button to start upgrading. A progress bar should show up to show the progress.
Once the Upgrade is done press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

I've tried a lot of things, but my Macintosh classic (with original floppys) runs 7.0.0. And the PowerBook needs atleast 7.0.1 and did run 7.1.0 as original OS.
How do I fix this?

Because your PowerBook 145B shipped with OS 7.1, it can't run an earlier version of the Mac OS, such as 7.0.1. Unfortunately, Apple never made OS 7.1 available for download. You can run OS 7.5.1, 7.5.3, and 7.5.5 on your PowerBook, but I'd recommend doing so with the maximum amount of supported memory - 8 MBs. The 19-part download of OS 7.5.3 is segmented, so that each one will fit on a 1.44 MB floppy disk. The problem is that the 19-diskette set isn't an installer set as such, having no bootable disk. It's solely intended to be used to transfer the individual segments to the resident hard drive in the computer. Once that's done, double-clicking the first .smi segment creates the OS 7.5.3 installer disk image on the desktop, which you drag onto the hard drive icon. This produces a folder with the OS 7.5.3 installer in it. I've done this before with an old Mac LC and it works. You can also download the 3-diskette OS 7.5.5 Update and run that. These downloads can be found on the same page where you found the OS 7.0.1 download: Older Software Downloads.

I am new on the block as far as Wordpress and trying to run a testing server using XAMPP via Dreamweaver CS5. I carefully followed all the directions in your tutorials:

Brian, everything worked up until I reached the following step under the topic of: "Testing code hinting"
After I open the "index.php" file, I received the following error in Dreamweaver CS5:
"Something is wrong with the XAMPP installation :-("
Again, I carefully followed all the instructions and everything up until now works: the Theme loads up fine, XAMPP works, and I can view the control panel fine in Wordpress.
Does anyone have any ideas?

That's a new one on me, but I very much doubt that the error message was generated by Dreamweaver, because DW is designed to work with any testing server. It's not tied to using XAMPP. Sounds like some weirdness from XAMPP. I must say that XAMPP 1.7.4 seems to have a few bugs.

Well, as we all know the IT industry changes really quickly but the problem is they usually release the upgrades before fully testing it. Due to this, a lot of bugs and loop holes come with the up-to-date systems and firmwares. I'm an IT so I know... Same with thousands of people who troubleshoot these kind of problems. Based on my experience the best action would be waiting for a couple of months after the release of (whatever it is) and joining forums like this (thanks to the people who offer help in this forum) so you would have an idea with the problems you might encounter if you're going to upgrade from one version to another. Eventually fixes for these mishaps would be released but it usually takes time to do so. So again, always be cautious when making the decisions since sometimes it makes things worse. (Learned my lesson when I upgrade my N70 without studying the effects)
All I can say is **bleep** happens (sorry for the language) but we'd have to accept these kind of things.

Something's wrong with the colours and transparency in iWeb?

I am building a site with specific colors from the RGB scale and when I publish, the color has different shades. Same problem happens with the % of the color's transparency; on Safari it looks washed out with ugly stripes and shades. Any bug suspicion?

Websafe colors are from an era when monitors only could display 16 or 256 colors.
Unless you have a visitor who still uses such monitor, you can safely use all 16 million colors.
About the textbox
iWeb uses the textbox in the Header layer of an iWeb page as the title in the browserwindow.
Do not remove the original textbox, as you cannot replace it other than by selecting another theme and then change it back to the original theme again. Ruining the layout in the process.
If the textbox in the Header is missing, iWeb uses a textbox down the page in the Content layer. If that textbox is also missing, it uses another textbox. If that fails it uses the pagename in the Sidebar.
Sometimes you may want a different text in the titlebar and not display it on the page itself. Or not display it at all.
So use that textbox in the Header layer. Type your text. Then select the textbox. In the Inspector choose T, click a color to open the color palette and drag the opacity slider to 0 (zero).
Do Command-T to open the font palette and make the font smaller. (Or do Command--(minus)) Also use a font that doesn't change to an image. Arial is a good font. Perhaps do it first before making the text invisble.
Resize the textbox. You may want to change the height of the Header layer.
Do Command-Shift-B to move the textbox to the back, possibly behind other objects.
Next add a optional second textbox to the Header layer and use that one to display text on the page.
If you want to move the textbox to the front again to make changes, but can't remember the location on the page, drag the area with the mouse to select the objects.
Deselect objects you do not want to move forward by Command-dragging the mouse over these objects.
Next do Command-Shift-F to move the textbox to the front. Repeat the steps in reverse order to make the text visible.
Practice.

Something went wrong with the invisible shield application

After putting on the invisible shield, I was really happy because it turned out great. I waited about two to three hours then started using it.
To my horror, I think my nano might have shorted out because when I press play the song changes. sometimes the play/pause button doesnt even do anything when i press on it...when i touch the volume control, it increases and decreases erratically regardless of what im trying to do...sometimes it even seems like my nano has a mind of its own because when i simply move the nano, without touching the controls, the song changes or the volume changes.
this erratic behavior occurs sporadically. sometimes my nano works fine. then right when i think all is well, my nano becomes possessed. is it possible that my nano has shorted out? maybe i should let it dry?

The process of applying the shield requires that I wet the film with soap and water. What do you suggest I do? My mistake was that I did not put on the hold button when I was applying the wet film and thus my ipod turned on while I was putting on the shield. i realize now that my nano should not have turned on for 24 hours. Should I just wait and see if the funky behavior goes away? or should i visit the nearest apple store?

We maybe wrong about the whine

If the cpu whine only happens when the cpu is idle then try this. Run the MBP on battery, move the pointer around abit and you'll hear the whine. Now dont touch the keyboard or trackpad for a couple of seconds, and the whine goes away. So how can this be. I mean if the whine happens when the cpu is idle it is surely just as idle if not more so when there is no user input.
I wonder if the whine we are hearing somehow a result of the graphics card. I have heard the same sound produced by 3dfx and nvidia cards in pc's before. Perhaps the aggressive power management on battery in mac osx is causing the graphics card more problems than the cpu.
Infact it was the internal pc speaker picking up on interferance caused by the graphics card.
If there is an internal system speaker in the mbp then perhaps this is the issue.
If anyone has any good points for or against i would like to hear them, please no trolling or flames.

Once again I must start by saying I do not own a MacBook Pro (yet), nor am I any kind of hardware expert. That said your probably right, I doubt it's the graphics card that is making the whine. It is possible, however, that it's the Intel Core Duo chip itself that is interfering with the speakers. Perhaps the interference is only picked up when the processor idles (which would explain why the Photobooth and QuietMBP fixes work). Mutting the speakers (as suggested in the other thread) would probably not fix it either as the speakers would still have power, they just wouldn't be recieving a signal from the MacBook Pro's sound card. Again, this is only something I read on another post so it's nothing I've had first hand experience with, I just wanted to make sure all sides were being shown.

I was notified of an update to itunes when I opened it on my PC this morning. I agreed to the update. The update did not finish and now I can't open itunes on the PC. I tried "repair" in the control panel to no avail. HELP!!

Pop up says " Something went wrong" in the title then reads, "Please wait a moment and try again. If the problem persists, try logging in." . I can't think of any new updates on my phone but many apps are getting updated without me keeping track of them

how can I fix this?

I tried mine in Safe Mode and the pop up box disappeared for a few hours
