Something is wrong with App updates. Help!

A little bit of background. I once had iTunes installed on my laptop and the HD died on me. Got myself a new PC with Win7 64-bit, reinstalled iTunes, used the same account name, etc. and re-downloaded all the purchased apps. Also got all previous authorizations canceled and the new PC is now the only authorised system for my iTunes account.
However, now I can't update the apps in iTunes whenever I open it on the PC. The "Check for Updates" now basically does nothing. There's no error prompt, nothing.
The problem here is that whenever I check for updates via "App Store" on my iPhone, it works and if there're updates available, they'll show. Unfortunately, given that files above 5MBs (IIRC) cannot be downloaded unless there's a WiFi nearby, it's useless as well.
Going back to my iTunes problem, in addition to that "Check for Updates" doing nothing at all, previously if there are updates available for download, a small number will show beside the Apps icon on the left bar. Now, there's no number at all which I think definitely correlates to that update check problem. I've checked my Preferences and the "Automatically check for available downloads" is turned on.
Sent an email to iTunes support once and since my warranty is already out, apparently I gotta pay to get an advice or have this problem checked. So, may I know what's wrong with the iTunes installed in my PC here?

  • Something is wrong with my imac, help

    I'm not sure how or exactly when this started, probably a few days ago but my imac is running slow. I ran disk repair & repair permissions and all is OK. When I click on a folder in the finder window it takes several seconds before it opens. Also, and most annoying, I can't seem to be able to rename anything. I have jpg photo files on my desktop I would like to rename but it won't let me. I cannot figure out what is going on. Was there an update recently that may have caused this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • When I try to connect my iphone to itunes it will not work, but when I connect an ipod it will. This is telling me something is wrong with my phone I am jsut not sure what that is. Can someone help me.

    I was trying to update my music last night. But itunes told me it needed to be updates first. So I updated itunes, and my phone. But now when I connect my phone using the usb. It will not connect to itunes, all that comes up is a phone icon on my desk top(which doesn't allow me to do anything with) But when I connect an ipod it does connect to itune and I am abble to look at how much room is left, and the option to restore ect) . SO this tells me something is wrong with my phone it self. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

    What did Apple tell you about what they did (or did not) find here?
    See if working on the main disk is any faster.
    USB2 is glacial, as I/O interconnects go.  And USB2 disks have been known to fail, or sometimes to drop back to USB1 speeds, too.  FireWire 800 is substantially faster than USB2, but still not as fast as the internal drive connections can provide.
    Put another way, start varying your configuration, and see which configuration changes (still) have the problem, and which don't.

    out of the blue the nokia xpress browser on my asha 501 does not start anymore: it just shows the blue background with the globe icon. when i press the back button, the following message appears:

    - I have subsequently updated the phone software to version 14.0.4
    - I have run the troubleshooter tool under "installed programmes"
    ("Debug <Ovi Browser> connecting on port 2800")
    - I have restarted the phone
    nothing helped.
    is anybody familiar with the problem and might assist with some help?

    Hi Chris,
    I had the same problem but I managed to solve this today (04/12).
    Follow the steps below:
    Be sure to backup your files.
    1. Settings (configuration) > Reset phone
    2. Click OK. Wait restart your phone.
    3. Run Nokia Xpress and DON'T upload your backup.
    I hope that your problem was solved.
    And, after this situation, when your phone ask to keep the old files of the browser, click on No.

    I am having the same issue. When I try to update my payment information I receive an error that states, "We're sorry, something seems to be wrong on our end. Please try again later.
    After Adobe's servers were breached I received a phonecall from my bank, stating that someone had used my credit card at a hotel in Mexico (I live in Ohio). I closed that credit card and was issued a new card. I want to update my card information on my Creative Cloud subscription. I chatted via the web with a customer service rep today. He was anable to help me. He suggested I call the Care Center. The hold was estimated at 2 hours. All I want to do is update my card information so the next time Adobe automatically bills for my subscription the transaction doesn't bounce.

    I've tried a lot of things, but my Macintosh classic (with original floppys) runs 7.0.0. And the PowerBook needs atleast 7.0.1 and did run 7.1.0 as original OS.
    How do I fix this?

    Because your PowerBook 145B shipped with OS 7.1, it can't run an earlier version of the Mac OS, such as 7.0.1.  Unfortunately, Apple never made OS 7.1 available for download.  You can run OS 7.5.1, 7.5.3, and 7.5.5 on your PowerBook, but I'd recommend doing so with the maximum amount of supported memory - 8 MBs.  The 19-part download of OS 7.5.3 is segmented, so that each one will fit on a 1.44 MB floppy disk.  The problem is that the 19-diskette set isn't an installer set as such, having no bootable disk.  It's solely intended to be used to transfer the individual segments to the resident hard drive in the computer.  Once that's done, double-clicking the first .smi segment creates the OS 7.5.3 installer disk image on the desktop, which you drag onto the hard drive icon.  This produces a folder with the OS 7.5.3 installer in it.  I've done this before with an old Mac LC and it works.  You can also download the 3-diskette OS 7.5.5 Update and run that.  These downloads can be found on the same page where you found the OS 7.0.1 download: Older Software Downloads.
