Something more than the usual battery problem

Well, I first had a problem with the charger when it failed to charge (i.e. no orange or green light). I called Apple and had the charger replaced, and the new one worked fine.
It's probably been around a year since that, and I returned from a trip away (nothing appeared to be wrong with the Mac before that) to find that the charger wouldn't charge (i.e. black X in the battery icon at the top-right of the screen) despite having the green light on.
That's not all: the Mac will only work if the battery is actually charged. If I pull the charger out, the Mac instantly switches itself off completely.
Only today, I have noticed that the charger no longer shows the orange/green light, and if I shut the Mac, the apple at the back glows and the glowing on/off light thing on the front of the Mac doesn't come on (i.e. the screen is still on despite being shut).
I get the feeling that the Mac is deteriorating somewhat - what do you all think is happening? I've tried following the instructions on this site with downloading Battery Update and all that, to no avail.

Your battery problem is actually a known issue and you should be able to get a free replacement from Apple:

Be sure and have this link or a printout when you talk to Apple--there are several battery programs, and not every Apple employee is familiar with this particular one. I think you'll recognize you battery problems in this article--especially the part about the battery being visibly distorted. But remove it at once--it can exert pressure on the trackpad from below and cause permanent damage if not corrected.

The removable battery problem is called progress or more accuratety alleged progress. It is cheaper to install a bare battery pack than to provide space for the cased removable variety. More compact and flatter laptop cases need the extra room that a removable battery occupied. It also weighs less with no case. Cooling can be a problem with higher performance options in these crowded environments.
To me the ultra lightness and compactness of the new laptops is of secondary importance compared to performance and reliability.

Wow. I have not seen that question nor a discussion. I agree with James. I don't think it will, and if the power drain is different, maybe it'll be less and not more.
With a 10 hour battery, you have plenty of time to test it and see. If the battery depletes fast, just go back to the other way.
If you do try it, let us know what you discover.

Any solution to the X battery problem?

I´m one more of the affected for the X battery problem after the firmware upgrade. Is there any solution to the problem rather than sending the macbook to apple?

it's definitely NOT the firmware update, as evidenced by the fact that i haven't installed either of the two recent firmware updates yet.
see the discussion in the macbook PRO threads.
they're sending me a new battery for free, and they'll do the same for you.
this is happenning to so many mb's and mbp's that it's becoming an expensive issue for apple :o(.

System is allowing to post the Adv Pmt amount more than the PO Value

Hi Experts,
I am FICO Consultant. I facing one problem regarding Advance Payment. We have a process to for making advance payment with reference to Purchase Order and Purchase Order Line Item. But system is allowing to post the advance payment amount more than the Purchase Order Value. I want to prevent this to happen. The system should not allow to make advance payment more than the Purchase Order value.
Please help me on this issue.

I am applying the invoice to a receipts.
senario is -->
i am having to debit lines of amount 60 and 70
and one credit memo of amount 80 for the same customer.
through api i need to apply the invoices to the receipt.
creating the receipt for amount of (60 + 70) - 80 is 50
when i am trying to apply the line of the invoices through api its giving an error as below
the same senario from the front end we add 60, 70, -80 that equals to 50 and receipt will be applied.
Customer transaction identifier has taken a precedence over the transaction number.
Customer transaction line identifier has taken precedence over the line number.
Cash receipt identifier has taken a precedence over the receipt number.
You may not apply more than the receipt amount.

How to proportionally scale one side of a photo more than the other?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to scale one side of an image more than the other? I've tried Content-Aware scale but it always yields ugly results. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I thik the main problem is the amount of the side of the column showing is making the right column appear larger.
I would therefore suggest moving part of the right side of the image slightly to the left.
You need to be careful in distorting the image as it will show up in the perspective on the floor.

Your son probably inadvertently made an in-app purchase. Many apps, particularly games, are free for the base game but charge for additional features; in the case of Angry Birds, things like "Mighty Eagles". First, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your device. For more information, see:

As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:

What do you think about using exceptions for something more than errors

if you look the java.lang.Exception description at the JDK javadoc, you can see the following text:
"The class Exception and its subclasses are a form of Throwable that indicates conditions that a reasonable application might want to catch."
... we can�t see "error" word anywhere!!

it seems that what you say is a functional way of achiveing that, yes
but Exceptions are generally reserverd for "Exceptional" situations ie program messing up or invalid data
it does require a fair bit of processor time to actually generate and throw an Exception.
so, all in all its "better" to use "normal" condition flow control to achive what you want.. you can always return early, break loops, call methods to pass information

The infamous Battery problem

I just purchased my 8th Mac -- a brand spankin' new 2.0 GHz Black MacBook for my buisness. This purchase was made to phase out my 12" 1.33GHz PowerBook G4 road warrior.
Well, the computer was purchased 13 days ago (lucky 13!) and I just ran into the same battery problem that, from what I've read, a lot of MacBook users have as well: the Battery just is not charging.
I had performed a proper battery calibration right out of the box. Further, whenever I unplug the laptop from the power supply, I like to run the battery down until I get the reserve power warning before fully charging it again.
For those of you who have gone through this before, how hard was it to swap out your MacBook for a new one? Luckily, I bought the stock MacBook from an Apple Retail store and can (hopefully) exchange it right out for a new one. I also purchased the Apple Care package (after having my PB G4's HD swapped out, the decision to spend the extra money for the Apple Care package was a no-brainer).

I have a user who wants to do this same thing. I did not find any way either to default the attributes to anything other than what you see the first time. Seems like such a trivial thing, hard to believe they do not allow it. I did find a program for this called iDress but I can't seem to download it from any links on the Internet. You are talking about 30 Firefox Profiles on the same Windows Logon User Account?
I never saw that as a limit myself. I had 53 Profiles at one time, although I haven't done that since Firefox 3.0. It was causing an extended launch time and I started using "remote" Profiles that weren't controlled by the Profile Manager and weren't in the '''profiles.ini''' file; launched by command line. Confirmed quantity more than the ordered quantity in sales order.

We have a situation wherein the confirmed quantity is more than the ordered quantity.
a.) SO was created for qty1.Two schedule lines were proposed as stock was not available.
b.) When stock came in and most probablly, when the rescheduling job calling tcode V_V2 was run, both the schedule lines were confirmed.
c.) As a result, further processing is not done by system as confirmed quantity is more than ordered quantity.
Also we noticed that double schedule line was confirmed for a another order even without the rescheduling job is run.
Can you please suggest as to why this is scenario is occuring and how we can avoid the reoccurence? Thanks in advance!!

Generally two schedule lines will take place if stock is not available in your plant or if open orders are there for that material also. So check the stock in MMBE
.If there are any backorders then it might be getting added in the created sales order and then you might be getting in two schedule lines

Gross price of Service entry Sheet more than the value ordered in PO

Hi all!!
I have a PO that were created and changed by the following way:
The user created the PO of service with the quantity = 1 and the price = 50.000,00
Than he made the service entry sheet of this PO and MIRO normally.
As the fields on service tab wasn't blocked, the user changed the quantity to 105.000,00 and the price to 1.
After that, he made 3 services entry sheet to complete 105.000,00 quantities.
With this, the value delivered became bigger than the value ordered in the PO.
if I make a service entry sheet with a quantity of 200.000,00 for example, the message SE363 will be shown to me with a message that the "quantity entered exceeds quantity in purchase order".
I'd like to know if there's a way by customizing of control the price on Service entry sheet based on the value ordered in PO instead of quantity.
Can anybody help me?

Thanks for the response.
The user made a PO with one line with quantity 1 and net price 50.000,00.
In the services tab, he put a sevice with quantitiy 1 and gross price 50.000,00, and than made the service sheet entry, and MIRO.
After this he changed in the services tab the quantity to 105.000,00 and the gross price to 1 (with the objective of making more than one service entry sheet by quantity).
With this, the system let the user make many entries of service allowing the user to make entries os sheet more than the net price that is in the line of PO.
I'd like to know if there's a way configure the system to make a compare between the gross price and the net price when i'm doing the service entry sheet, because now when I change a line of service tab, the system is not considering that other service entry sheet were made.
So that, i'm having the value of ordered bigger than the value delivered.
Nowadays, the block is made by quantity as I said, but i'd like to block by price too.
Sorry about the bad explanation before, I hope that now i explained better.

Adding more than the recommenced RAM...

I have an iMac 17in Flat Panel 800MHz with 256MB of Apple installed RAM (with an open slot for user installed RAM). The maximum recommended total RAM is 1GB. Can you put a 1GB pc133 144pin SODIMM in the user installable slot? Is this a bad idea to have the total RAM (1.25GB) more than the recommended total of 1GB? Thanks your your thoughts and suggestions.

Is there another way to determine if the memory is really 512 but just not registering correctly with the imac, is it possible the mac doesn't display the correct memory or did I just get taken on ebay?
Either that device is a 256 MB device or it is incompatible with your iMac and is being incorrectly identified as a 256 MB device.
Either situation means that you need to return the RAM to the seller.
