Something stuck in my friends iPhone Headphone Jack! HELP

So my friend's iPhone 4S (out of warenty anyway) had a headphone accessory in the iPhone, and it snapped off. This plasticy bendable rubber is now stuck in the headphone. To make matters worse she tried to pick it out with a thumb tack, only making it go deeper. What can she do to get it out! A vacume cleaner will not work either...

You can try a toothpick.

  • Piece of led stuck in my ipods headphone jack help!!!

ATleast i think thats what it is. Its pushed in there pretty far and i dont live near to an apple store. Is there any way to get it out without getting help from apple? Its lead from a pencil so i can stick holes in it with a safety pin so i dont know if it would break if i found some tiny pliers, which i dont have. And can anyone tell me uf it would cost much to get it fixed at an apple store if i dont figure out how to get it out? My brither stuck the lead in and he wont pay for it so i wanna know if its worth it to get it put in the end. Im 15 and out of money if the last sentence sounded weird to you... • How should I go about getting my iPhone headphone jack repaired?

So recently my headphone jack has been playing up, where it ends up with loads of static and the vocals are oddly quiet and echoey, but it seems to correct itself if I jiggle the jack around a little, which obviously must be damaging, so I've stopped doing it. I bought the phone from Carphone Warehouse in September and was wondering how I can go about getting this fixed? I didn't take out any apple care or anything, but surely I'm still covered by some sort of warranty? If not, how much will Apple charge for this to be repaired/replaced?

The warranty is 1 year. If it's less than a year old, and there are no visible signs of damage, then it should be covered under warranty. If it is more than a year old, then you should be able to get an out of warranty replacement from Apple ($149 in the U.S. You'll have to check on the price in the UK).

  • Headphone Jack Help (USB 2

My USB 2.0 Zen which has served me faithfully for two years of rough and tumble service and now I think it may have finally bit it. I listen to it while trying to sleep and woke one night to find it playing only through one (right) ear. I tried pushing the headphones back in as sometimes the come partially out. However this didnt help. I pushed harder and the left would work only while extreme pressure was applied to the jack. Is it trashed guys? Can it be fixed and how much? Is it time to move up to a micro? Thanx.

Same happened to me on my xtra. I luckly was able to get it fixed for free, but creative relly should have designed the headphone jack a little beefier to prevent this kind of stuff from happening.

  • Grinding down the iPhone headphone jack itself... anyone done it?

Because I just got a first gen iPhone, and this is ridiculous. Sure, I could modifiy every 3.5mm cable or headphone I have, or I could just take a dremel to the freakin iPhone. How close is anything to that jack? If I flare out the opening will I hit anything?
    Thanks!
    - Rob

Here is a picture of the back case showing the jack opening.
It looks quite thin to me and I don't think I would want to risk taking a dremmel to it. I'd go with the other option and buy a simple adapter. You can use the same adapter for all your different headphone.

  • Iphone 4 with half a hole in the headphone Jack HELP

Hi I need some help i have a new iphone 4 that after 4 days i tried to plug in the headphones to discover they would not slide in all the way. I took to a apple distributor near home and they tested it and looked closer to find that there appeared to be something in the hole or the hole was half formed. My provider took the phone for repair/replace and now say i put something in the hole and will charge me to fix it.
Has amyone else ever had this problem as they are saying it has never happened before.

In UK by law you can just send back within 14 days with no charge except any calls made
May be different in your country
Still seems very strange- and your sure you dont have a headphone socket with a piece missing on end?
Dont do this but I may try getting a thin piece of plastic and putting a tiny bit of superglue on then press it onto this bit in hole then wait and then pull, only a suggestion...

  • Iphone headphone jack is messed up!! what do i do?

I've had my iphone 4 for about 6 months now & recently, my phone stop playing through my headphones!!!! like it will play through my speakers but not through my headphones! when i do play music through my headphones, it'll play a little part of the song ot keep switching songs. why is it doing this?????

Take it to the Apple Store and get the phone replaced.
Have you tried a different set of headphones?

  • IPhone Headphone Jack

I just upgraded from the original Iphone to the 3G. When I plug in the headphones that came with the new IPhone 3G, the plug will not go all the way in. It stops at the 3rd white mark on the headphone plug, and the result is that it is very loose and comes out easily. The headphones on the Iphone original would plug in all the way and feel tight. Is this right??

The iPhone headset plug should go in all the way to the heatshrink material and should be quite snug, you should be able to lift the iPhone by the headset connection (not that i'd make this a generally good thing to try)

  • Does TV out work with the iPhone headphone jack?

Can you plug in you AV cord in your earphone jack and use that as the video out?

I don't believe I said video out DOES work through the headset jack, I said that it worked through the 32 pin connector. An update to this is that some of my TV sets in the house will allow audio in Ipod mode and some won't. Still haven't figured out how to allow audio through the bottom connector in my car either. Of course this is because I am passing it through a tv tuner in the car and if the tuner doesn't get video it just doesn't pass anything through.
Of course I believe your solution below for the audio would work but of course I'm going for the cleanest look I can get also.
I have considered putting another fm transmitter in my glove boxe where the a/v connector to the tuner is and just plug the left and right audio into it.

  • Headphone Jack HELP PLE

HI , I have a creative zen jukebox 20 gig usb 2.0. I bought it refurbished from creative labs. Today I got pushed up against something with the headphones plugged into the player and it bent the headphone plug into the jack causing damage. I can no longer hear sound from the player. I was wondering where I could go , or ship my player to so I don't have to scrap it . Oh , and I doubt its under warranty iv'e had it for about 6 months , and the refurb said it only had a 90 day warranty from what I can remember.
    Thanks,

Scott-. You could do a search arrowed were you li've for a mp3 repair, but it would be better for creative to do it.
As for the 90 day warrantee, creative does a 90 day warrantee on maintenance. But the parts warrantee is year. So depending on the situation you may not have to pay for parts.

  • Headphone Jack Help

Just in the last couple of days my headphones started to cut out on the right side. I thought the problem was the headphones, after several switches, I found out that is not so. When I play with the plug on the headphones the right channel comes in and out. I have seen similar questions posted on line with the same problem, but was unable to find any useful answer. Help would be greatly appreciated... is there something I can do, or does it have to be taken somewhere or shipped out? If so, who would I contact to get the ball rolling here. I need my iPod, flat out. Thanks in advance!!

I am having the exact same issue. If I plug in my original Ipod headphones are anything comparable the Right Side began to cut out, but is gone completely. Now to hear anything I must you High (studio) Quality headphones to hear properly. This is disconcerning. Ipod is less than 1.5 old. If I find a solution I will post here. Anyone else please help.
