Something weird happening with View Options....
Hi!,
OK, so I go into my hard drive root (where the library, users, system folders are). I go to the View menu and choose Show View Options. In that small panel, I check the Show Item info checkbox so that it shows me all the info about folders. I enable it and close the window. Now under all the folders, it says how many files are indside them. All the numbers were correct and I was happy until I noticed that the printing underneath the Applications folder said that there were no items inside. So, I went into the applications folder and all my apps are still there (phew!) . I logged out and logged in to see if that fixed it but NOPE, it still had "Not items" under the Applications folder. Whats goin' on?
I know that this may be a small problem with nothing to worry about but I'm afraid that all the other options may be going crazy as well. Is there a pref file I can trash?

Hi Indragie,
You must not have noticed the option at the top of the View Options box. The radio button for "All windows" must have been on. So you ended up making a global change. Perform a View Options command again and reverse it by turning off the "Show Item" info with the same "All windows" option on. That will clear that setting from all other folders. In the future, watch that option carefully and make sure to set it first.

Hi something weird happened with my updates.
Ok I was using the iOS AppStore I was checking for updates and a update for minecraft pocket edition came up the thing is it was already installed even when I clicked the update it said installed. Then I clicked update all then in begain installing the thing is it would not stop showing up as available update eventually it stopped being available and went away. This has happen only once before
My question is why would this happen (why would a already installed update show up as a available update)?Does anyone have any ideas I promise I wound be critical of any idea as long as it pertains to my question.

Something weird happening in JSP
Hi guys
I have a JSP based app made out of frames.
There is a left navigation frame and a main frame int he center.
When I click on a link in the left , the page will be displayes correctly on the main frame . At this time I can see the status bar going all the way to the right in the browser.
Then the status bar starts again from the beginning and it is not getting completed.
Any idea??Thank you for taking the time to research this matter. I did delete the app and dowloaded again and presto! it cleared it up. Thanks again!

That is a very wierd issue. Let's see if we can get this fixed. Please try: Menu>settings> applications>manage applications> all> then clear data on all 3 applications and retest.
Have you tried deleting the facebook and devotions application and downloading them again?
I've researched the issue. It may have been a temporary issue with the application. Are you still experiencing problems with the foreign language? Please let me know if this fixes this issue.

Something Weird Happening...on Pantech Breakout
Yes, I have a Panteck Breakout and it's really weird what is happening. Ok when I either go to my Daily Devotions app that I downloaded, or the Handy Memo app that was already downloaded on the phone and I go to share with Facebook at the top of the page where it says Post to Wall then something that should be in English there is another lanugage...this is where is should say Post but in English. Now when I'm on my Facebook on mobile and am sharing something under status the word Post is in english. Like I said something weird...

I bought the adobe photoshop elements 13 and adobe premiere elsements 13 in box in the store for my Mac;
I've entered my 25 character product key - now I have been waiting for nearly an hour for something to happen
with no luck. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm using MacBook Pro with Yosemite OS 10.10 etc. Help!

Out of the blue, my AppleTV went to a screen that had two icons, Computers and Settings. Why won't it go the the usual TV screen with viewing options? Help!
Here's what finally worked for me with Apple TV 3rd generation. Out of the box, when setup with wi-fi, it breezed through without any issue. As soon as I powered down and connected it to another tv (same wi-fi network), it got stuck at setting date/time. The remote would help in getting out of it, but the home would only have "Computers" and "Settings" and pretty much useless except for AirPlay. Here's what I did to resolve this:
1. On your main router, temporarily disable the firewall or set it to the lowest setting allowable (a reboot of the router maybe required).
2. Restart apple tv via the "restart" option in the "General" option in the main settings menu.
3. It should breeze through and not show the "Setting date/time" screen.
4. Once it loads up properly, turn on your fire wall as before (a reboot of the router maybe required).
I think it worked for me out of the box, but auto-update to the latest software introduced this bug. So, everytime apple tv tries to synch with the time server, this issue will come back. To disable this, I turned off the "auto time synch" option in Settings -> General.
I am fairly confident that I'd be able to use steps 1 through 4 anytime this recurs. Possible scenarios causing recurrence of this issue:
1. Unplugging the power to apple tv or power failures.
2. OS updates.
3. Restoring apple tv using "Restore" or via micro-usb and iTunes to the lastest OS.

Yesterday, something weird happened to all my apps on all my apple products, when I open the app store on my iPhone, iPad and my the Mac app store on my Mac, it says that all my apps are updated and it's a lie!! cause I have a lot of apps that need an update, I don't know why this is happening, please help!
Okay all good we got into the layers - there was an non editable group/path/second layer. Clicked the circle next to that layer to select all, I was now able to click and edit my artwork but the colours were still stucj in a transparency and were at 100% tint & opacity - fixed that by copying and pasting in document. I dont know how, I dont know why but it worked and big thanks to my special friend for figuring it out and hleping me

From the FeedValidator report the feed is basically OK for iTunes. There are several occasions where 'content:encoded' sections (following immediately on 'guid' tags) should be enclosed in
<description>...</description>
tags: however all this will be ignored by iTunes anyway and only applies to other readers. The 'potentially dangerous content' referred to by FeedValidator is within the 'content:encoded' tags and so isn't relevant to iTunes. They are referring to an inline css style, and I don't know whether this might cause a problem elsewhere.
You should really have a language tag, e.g.
<language>en-us</language>
(you have a dc:language tag but that's for a different system). This should be placed in the top section, before the first 'item' tag.
It's advisable to have an 'itunes:explicit' tag for each 'item' -
<itunes:explicit>yes IF CONTAINS ADULT MATERIAL, OTHERWISE no</itunes:explicit>
it's not compulsory if you have no adult material, but you must have a 'yes' if you do.
You can check your feed by subscribing in iTunes from the 'Advanced' menu - this has the same result as clicking the 'Subscribe' button on the Store page. If it works OK there you are ready to submit it. -
Having the strangest and most annoying time currently with iTunes 10.2.2.
I'm getting crashes when I try and change the view option in the Podcast section. I can subscribe ok to a Podcast through the iTunes site, the Podcast can also be seen downloading when the download section appears in iTunes BUT when I click on the Podcast name on the left section of iTunes the default view is thumbnail. If I try and change the view options whilst the Podcast is downloading I get a crash everytime (this doesn't and has never happened on my other MBP system using the same 10.2.2)
I have just experimented and let the download finish and to my surprise I DIDN'T get a crash...very weird.
I did uninstall and reinstall via the instruction on the Apple site after I had the first crash.Dale:
Thank you for the link. I put my OSX Install disc in, found the disk utility, and highlighted each and every disc that came up (one at a time) and hit "repair". At first, one disk repair said "Cannot Unmount Disk". I pressed on to the other 2 disks in my system. I returned to that first one with the error message and tried again. This time, it proceeded to the end and said, "No Reparis were Needed" -- just like for the other disks.
So, I chose to restart the computer using OSX that's on my hard-drive.
I got the apple logo. I got the "welcome" tone. Again, I have nothing else: no log-in screen, no desktop. Nothing. -
I am running OSX Lion 10.78.4 and the computer will no longer go into sleep mode when I close the cover. In system preferences I can no longer find the option that allows for this energy saving feature. What happened to this option and why is this no longer happening with the latest version of Lion?
No external monitors or devices attached. When you mention that this function only works when devices are attached that is true when you set up your preferences that way. Up until my upgrade to Lion the computer would always go into sleep mode when I closed the lid. There also used to be an option to check in system preferences that allowed you to choose this option. My question for the discussion is what happened to that option and how do you get the computer to sleep or at least the display to sleep when you close the lid as we have been able to do in the past. No worries, my problem cannot be solve if I keep it to myself and everyone else do the same. We have to come out of our shell and be counted so we will know how many of us are out there in the same boat. When you spend so many years mastering a software like FreeHand and knowing how productive and efficient it has been, it is heart breaking to know we can't do much as individual to save it from the Giant palm of Adobe to thumb it down.
This latest set back fortunately is not isolated to only FreeHand but instead it is got something to do with Open Fonts.
For the time being I will just use Postscript fonts.
I am still hanging on to FreeHand for as long as it can still run and hopefully someone come out with a brilliant idea to revive it.
I am not give up yet.
I will always believe in FreeHand and will always love FreeHand

Something strange happen with Maps
Hello Everybody ,
When I was in Saudi Arabia, the maps as usual we know its become so bad and when I check china map I didn't find any of metro lines and stations, all gone as we know.
the strange happen , when I reach china and I connect to China Unicom , the maps has been changed to new ones , includes all places and metro lines and station , both English and Chinese language, and no 3D.
its not same as google but it called AutoNavi. so I was happy with apple and I though apple has updated their maps.
but when I go back to Saudi Arabia , I was surprised that maps back as before , and when I look to china map , again all disappear metro , etc . also its using again tomtom maps !!
Does this happen with anyone ? or someone knows about it ?

Something strange happening with my fonts

The PDF is supposed to have all the fonts embedded, but page 1 is showing up wonky - sometimes. Some of the fonts on page 1 are incorrect. They should all be Futura. The rest of the pages seem to be fine - and they use all the same fonts. Not sure why this would only affect page 1 if the fonts weren't embedding properly.
But sometimes when you refresh or reload the page, it loads correctly and they are Futura. I don't get it. It happened sporadically on my other co-workers computer as well.
And if you save the pdf to your desktop, and then open it, it's fine.
I appreciate any help in advance.

A new development. Part of the problem is that the fonts are not displaying on the first page – but what make the document really unusable – is that the “ff” is missing from “Dollars making a difference” in the table of contents. Since “ff” is a ligature in the pdf I wondered if that was part of the problem.

This is a web-res one but I had the problem with press-ready and web-res files.
This one appears to be fine now. Can you tell me if it loads correctly on your machine? Maybe a problem with ligatures then….Which is a pain if I have to take them all out of my pdfs.
This only appears to be a problem when viewing the PDF in a web browser. If you save it your computer and open it up it seems fine.
Bill@VT – I’m not sure why Times New Roman didn’t embed in the first pdf…Strange. But the font that is used all over that first page – which is not displaying correctly is actually Futura.
The PDFs were exported from InDesign CS5….and I have Acrobat Reader X (10.1.2) and Acrobat Pro 9.5.0
daniel27lt – the image on the front page is 1.8 MB jpg. I exported both Press Ready PDFs and Web Res PDF from InDesign and they both have this problem when viewed in the Web Browser. I don’t think converting all my images to GIFs is going to be a good solution for me and I do believe the problem is in the fonts. -
When i right clicked on pic, an option was there .I can not remember what it said except something like "Block fb"
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions" (e.g. sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net)
*Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
*Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
*Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain. -
Something weird happened to my old iphone 3GS
Im now upgraded to Iphone 4S. My old iphone 3GS was kept in the drawer. Today as I come from work, I was surprised to see my 3GS LCD popped out. I don't know how it happened and why. I could not describe it so much because I have not heard of any complaint regarding this. I find it so wierd because the phone was just sitting in the drawer.
The exact same thing just happened to my iPhone 3GS yesterday. I took it to the Apple Store today and they said the battery expanded and that there was nothing I could do about it. I feel cheated though, because I didn't nothing to the device. I kept in my house, never dropped it, and now I can't do anything about it because I don't have a warranty? Does this mean that Apple device will be unusable after 2 years because of faulty batteries?
