Something wrong with iTunes gift cards...

On one of my computers, which regretably is not a Macintosh, I have itunes. But one day, I loaded a $50 gift card to my account, and now, it displays I only have $10. Yet, when I tried my account on another computer, it displayed the correct balance in my account, about $47. Why is that, and how can I fix it?

Try to logout and log back into iTunes on that "not a Mac" computer. It should then refresh with the new balance.
Let me know if that works.

No, terms of use for gift cards clearly state that they can only be used for the purchase of content from the store, such as movies, music, games, etc.

Not able to sign up for iTunes Match with iTunes Gift Card

Last night I purchased $30.00 worth of iTunes Gift cards , redeemed the cards against my iTunes account and attempted to sign up for the iTunes Match ($24.99 per year) only to find out that I must provide a credit card on file before they will allow me to sign up. I never imaged that Apple would require a credit card on file. One of the reasons that I chose Apple products was the ability to purchase with iTunes Gift cards to reduce my risk of fraud when the account become compromised .
Also I have Apple IDs for each of my children and they receive iTunes Gift cards as presents that they purchase Apps, Music etc that they want. That way when they grow up and leave home they have their own Apple accounts to take with them. Apple should want life long Apple customers!!   Just to let you know 14 year olds don’t normally have credit cards and I would never put my Credit Card info attached to their account. So if they own a Laptop, iPhone and iPad they are discriminated from using your iTunes Match because they don’t have a credit card? Really????
Apple to just let you know that I have a Microsoft XBOX Live membership that I purchase a Live gift card once a year to renew my subscription. I can’t believe that Microsoft can figure out how to provide customers a better user experience that Apple.
Please fix this quickly as I would like to use your iTunes Match and other iCloud services that you plan on releasing later this year however I will not be using my credit card so I may have to look for other device options.   If you need any help figuring out how to meet your business requirements please let me know as I would be glad to provide suggestions.

I've been through the same ordeal. I wanted to renew my iTunes Match service, had over $100 credit in the iTunes Store, but wasn't able to use that credit to pay for the renewal. Apple requires you have a valid, working credit card on file to renew for some reason. But once you put in a credit card, the charge is actually taken from your store credit, not the credit card. So, it's very odd and doesn't make any sense to me, either. But there's no way around it without a credit card, that's what Apple Support told me when I contacted them about this same issue.

I understand you are unable to purchase items from the iTunes Store as it is requiring your old credit card information. You can try and change your payment method to none and see if it will allow you to make a purchase using your gift car. However, if there are any outstanding balances, you will be required to enter credit or debit card information before you can make purchases.
Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID)

Can't buy an App from the mac app store with iTunes gift card.

I have iTunes credit over 10 $ but still i can't buy an App from the mac App store although it show that i have credit and im sure i do, i tried exiting the Mac App Store and try again but still when i click on buy it opens a new window with billing info after i type my Account details, i don't use credit card and have always redeemed iTunes Gift Cards , but now it doesn't let me buy it!
Any help on how to buy an App without the store taking me to billing info to add , would be appreciated

I bought an App. Bloons TD 5HD foor iPad 4 Retina. I paid for it with a gift card iTunes. System says, when app is activated, app is bougt and can be downloaded. Again an d again. It can't be activatedd Does anybody know what to do.

Go to your account on your computer and set the credit card to none. This will allow you to use the gift card.

I have US iTunes Store account which I open a few years ago while I was living in US. I am now working overseas (Singapore) the past year and do not have US credit Card anymore as I have applied for the local Credit Cards in Singapore. I buy my stuff from Itunes Stores using "iTunes Gift Cards" instead.
Now that I want to pay for the US$24.99 for iTunes Match using my iTunes Gift Cards but it prompted me for a US credit card before I could subcribed. Why can"t Apple accept payment by iTunes Gift card? I have no problem subscribing to MOBILE ME using my local credit card.

In September I'll be moving to Germany for 9 months as part of my uni degree. I want to change the country of the iTunes Store so I can buy songs when I'm in Germany.
At the moment there is no credit/debit card associated with my account - I have always paid for songs using Gift Cards. I plan to add my UK debit card sometime soon to spend the remaining Gift Card balance (as the full balance must be spent before switching countries), and then remove the debit card from my account. Then, when I get to Germany and change the iTunes Store country, I want to purchase a Gift Card and use it to start buying songs in Germany.
What I would like to know is: is this possible? Or do I have to link a German credit/debit card to my accouint to buy songs after switching countries?

You can redeem and use an iTunes Gift Card without a credit card. From:

If you already have an account, you can redeem your gift card without using a credit card. If you don’t have an account, you can create a new account without payment information.

Accidentally detleted e-mail with iTunes gift card info

The e-mail with information about an iTunes gift card was accidentally deleted. Unfortunately, the e-mail isn't in the trash folder either and much to my chagrin can't be found!
I've looked on iTunes under "Purchased" and other places and didn't find a "Purchase History" because there have been no purchases with this account.
We've sent an e-mail to the gift giver asking if they have any confirmation iTunes e-mails and are waiting to hear back.
Any suggestions on anything else to try?

What is the emails domain that you are using?
Domain as in After the @ sign like gmail, yahoo, aol etc - dont need .com/.net etc etc
If you have an email with those Domains try [this is just a chance - Not a gaurantee] going to the email Web Based [An Internet Browser] and check the trash there.
[Unless that is what you meant when stating not in the trash - Then nevermind and Sorry]

HT5035 Problems with iTunes gift card ?

We redeemed the iTunes gift card.
The dollar amount appears next to the account name in the upper left hand corner.
HOWEVER, when we go to actually purchase a song, instead of just deducting money from the dollar amount, it takes me back to the Edit Payment Information page.
The songs are not appearing in my Library.

Go to the iTunes support page and select your iTunes country.
From the iTunes support page, choose Contact Support on the lower-left side of the page.
