  • Help!! what's wrong with my new ipod classic??

Hi there, I have a brand new 80G ipod classic to replace my older 8G nano. I've been using itunes as usual but when I plugged my new ipod into the PC to transfer my existing itunes library and purchased tracks to my new ipod I got the message "attempting to copy to the disk failed. The disk could not be read from or written to." I was then prompted to 'restore' the ipod. I retried downloading a number of times. Each time the message appeared after downloading only a few of the saved music tracks (5,162,190,19), and each time I had to restore the ipod. I'm sure this isn't a problem with my PC software as my wife is using a brand new 8G nano from the same PC without issue. Could it be that the ipod hard drive is crashing during the download process? I'm really stuck and would love to use my christmas gift as intended! Hope someone can help.
    Many thanks.

  • How do I sync my old itunes with a new ipod?

I have just got the latest iPod Nano, after having an extremely old version (from about 5 years ago). All my music (over 800 songs) is on my iTunes account on my home computer, but this computer only has Windows XP, which is not compatible with the new iPods. If I get iTunes 10.4 on my laptop, how can I transfer all my songs from my old iTunes to my new iTunes so that I can sync with my new iPod??
    Thankyou

There's a few ways of managing multiple devices on a single computer (and keeping seperate content on each). The following document is worth checking through:
How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer

  • Will a ipod nano charger work with a new ipod touch?

will a ipod nano charger work with a new ipod touch?

If you want to charge a touch gen 4 or less, then absolutly (It just might take a little longer than one specifically for the touch, because of watt dierences I think). I'm not sure about gen 5

  • Will i have to do it all over again with the new ipod?

my ipod is super beat up and it's time for a new one, so i deleted all my itunes programs off of my computer and i've reinstalled them.
while i'm saving up money for a new ipod i wanted to go ahead and reimport all my songs into a library, once i do this am i able to just plug the new ipod into my computer and all of these songs will update and i'll be all set?
or will i have to do it all over again with the new ipod?

Once you have reinstated the tracks to your library, you'll able to sync your new iPod to it automatically and update it with the contents of your iTunes.

  • I cannot download the latest version of itunes to my Mac OS X 10.5.8 to sync with my new ipod nano.  Any suggestions???

I cannot download the latest version of itunes to my Mac OS X 10.5.8 to sync with my new ipod...any suggestions?

You need to upgrade the computer's OS. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it can't sync that device.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, upgrade it as if it was a Core Duo Mac, and once done, if desired, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.
Some device models require Mac OS X 10.7.5 to sync.

  • I have OS X 10.4.11 and I just got home with my new ipod nano and I need to update my OS! How do I do this?

I have OS X 10.4.11 and I just got home with my new ipod nano 6th generation and I have after searching threads etc discovered I need to update my OS! How do I do this - all of the posts on this subject are a bit out of date I think? I have a mac book pro 2.2 so I know I can run Leopard, I just have no idea how to get it...? Please help!

Check your Mac against hardware specs to find out what version of OS X you can upgrade to.
Then buy DVD for that version.

Have you attempted an iTunes restore and setting up as a new device? Sometimes battery life issues can be caused by corrupted iOS software.

  • ITunes work with a new iPod?

I have a question that just came to mind.
If I purchased another iPod and hooked it up to my computer, would I be able to use the songs in my iTunes library with the new iPod?

Yes. iTunes will recognize each iPod as unique. I am currently syncing four iPods to the same iTunes library. I use the "Sync selected playlists" option to select which music goes on which iPod.
    Best of luck.

  • Help with my new ipod touch

    hello
i seem to be having an issue with my new ipod touch i just replaced my ipod 3rd gen nano with the nano all the songs from an album played together then moved on to the next i cannot get the touch to do the same it lists all the songs in a perticular album on cover flow but when i return it to an upright position a
it lists all my songs in alphabetical order and not grouped together as an album should be i have tried on itunes using the get info and listing them all as a compalation but which works as it groups them all together in cover flow but wont work when i press album in the vertical mode

Whilst upright, switch from 'playlist' mode (bottom of the screen) to artist, touch the artist name in the list, below the 'All Songs' option all your albums by any particular artist/group should be listed so long as your MP3s are tagged properly.

  • HT1349 which Sound Dock Music System will work best with my new iPod Touch 5th genertion

Which Sound Dock Music System will work best with my new iPod Touch 16GB 5th generation ?
I have been reading on line about how many don't. So what does. This was one of the main reasons I bought it. Will it work in one of the Bose Sound Dock Systems ?

There will be no problems connecting. I am hearing that there are connection problems with the5th generation iPod Touch to the Sound Docks. As well, which systems will produce the best sound?
I have heard of no such problems with connection.
Regarding sound, it's simply a matter personal preference.  My suggestion is to go to the nearest Apple Store and try out a couple.  Each of the products at the store have passed an extensive vetting process.  The Specialists are willing to work with you and may even open a box or two.  Don't be unreasonable and expect to spend a half-day opening all the different models.  In other words, don't abuse their willingness to provide stellar customer service.
Better yet, direct your eyballs to the store shelf or the Apple website.  That's really all you need to know.

  • The software licence agreement with my new IPOD prohibits use on a non appl

the software licence agreement with my new IPOD prohibits use on a non apple branded computer (yeah, I know, no one reads these things) therefore, as I read the agreement, I am not allowed to install the software on teh CD that came with my new IPOD onto my computer - Interestingly enough, if I run just the itunes installer from the CD and not the "autorun" file, then I get a different licence agreement.
Will Apple compuer company please formally state that the supplied software may be installed on a non Apple branded computer

here is the section to which I was referring - it popped up when I first inserted the CD, and it runs when you install the IPOD updater - see the first sentence.
