Sometimes fails to import complete ppt slide

Occasionally when I want to import additional ppt slides, it fails important the whole thing, leaving only the title and the first line or two.  I tried to get around this by adding the slide I want to a longer presentation and creating a new captivate project then copy the slides from that, but it has started happening there too.  Not every slide, but usually the one I'm interested in.  I can't see any problems with the ppt slide; in powerpoint, it all displays correctly.  Any ideas?

Well, the problem is magically fixed now. I wonder what you might have seen in the metadata?
Here's how I got it fixed:
I thought maybe I should use Sync.
When I sync'ed the files, I guess I had the wrong Metadata menu option checked (still learning this application) and all files in the directory now received the same star rating from the master selection. Oops.
So I went back into ACDSee, changed rating of each file as desired, made sure that metadata was embedded in files (ACDSee terminology).
Went back to LR5, selected all files in directory.
Use menu Metadata Read from file. This time all files properly read the new ratings.

When I import a ppt slide into Captivate 3, the animations don't come with it. Any suggestions? I am importing as animation not background

Thanks JL. I am aware of the radio button and tried several

  • Missing PPT slides during import

Often, not always, when trying to import a PPT
    presentation, I don't get all the slides. i.e let's say in a 24
slide presentation from MS Office 2003, sometimes I get 12,
sometimes I get 17 of the slides. I have tried different
presentations, renaming files, different slide designs and I am
totally confused what to do next. Recording the presentation while
running only gives me 1 slide in Captivate 3 and I would like to
jazz it up but can't. Please help if you can!!!

    Hi Ron-G
Not sure why the slides would fail to import. But if you are
recording while running the presentation, you should be able to tap
the Print Screen key from time to time to force captures as you go
    along.
    Just a thought... Rick

  • Captivate 5.5 Is it possible to import PPT slides in Notes Page view?

    Hello experts,
This may seem like an odd question. I'd like to display all the notes in the page of a PowerPoint deck that provides samples of code and explaintions of what the code is doing. It is too much information for the slide, which just has discussion point bullets, and I think it is too much for the closed caption pane. It this possible to import PPT slides in Notes Page view?
Thank you so much in advance for any hints, tips, and replies.
    Kindest regards,
    P

I found an alternative but circuitous way of achieving the desired result. In PowerPoint I opened, then I printed the PPT presentationto a PDF selecting the Notes Page option instead of Full Slide. By then using a PDF converter to convert it back to PPT I was able to insert the  PPT as is. In other words it "looks" just like the PPT Notes Page view, which is exactly what I wanted. The code snippet and notes were intact.

How do I take a snapshot of a form in pdf and import onto a ppt slide?

Can't you use the standard method for taking screenshots of what is on your screen? (which depends on your platform and OS version).

  • Bug when importing Ppt slides with animation: color changes to foam green

    Hi everyone,
I am using Captivate 7 and I am experiencing what seems like a bug when I try to import Powerpoint slides that have animation effects and then publish the video as HTML5.
I am using Ppt 2007 and importing the slides as .pptx files using the Import> Ppt slides command in Captivate.
An example of Ppt slide that I need to import is this: in the slide, there are two groups, created by grouping together several objects (lines, shapes etc). One group has a fade effect applied on it, while the other group has a diagonal down right movement applied to it.
When I import the slide in Captivate, the following happens:
If I do not select the High fidelity check box, then the Ppt slide is imported as static, and no effect is shown in the HTML5 video, although the effect is shown in the Captivate preview.
If I select the High fidelity check box, then the Ppt slide is imported with the effect, and with the original Ppt colors, but as soon as I press F3 to play the slide, or F4 to play the whole project, or I publish the video in HTML5 output, all the original colors change to foam green for the fill in and black for the shape outlines. Furthermore, the text boxes are displayed with their box frame displayed:
    ORIGINAL PPT IMAGE:
    RESULT AFTER CAPTIVATE IMPORT:
I have read in the forum several posts on this issue, eg colors being changed to foam green even with static Ppt slides, and I tried to apply the suggestions, but none seems to work.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi there
As Hyperlinks don't survive the import process, perhaps try removing the links and just applying the desired color in PPT before importing into Captivate?

  • Import PPT slides with same slide dimensions as CP slides.

Hi, I am using Captivate 4 and my project size is set to 1015 x 605 per client specifications.  I need to create some content using PowerPoint which I will then import.  Is there a way I can ensure my PowerPoint slides are the same size as my Captivate 4 project so when I import it won't resize the PPT slides and then cause distortion.  Not sure how to size PowerPoint slides according to pixels.

    Hi there
See if the link below helps. Note that you will need to scroll the page a bit to see the chart.

Intermediate answer: The app launched correctly and the import process has started.
It is taking ages though. Over 3 hours for around 30K messages.
The message count sometimes gets stuck for 20-30 minutes or so and then starts counting again...
There are ~5K messages left to be imported. I'll let you know if it goes ok.
Stay tuned for the next and hopefully last episode.

  • Problems saving/reimporting edited PPT slides back into Cap5/Mac

Greetings, folks - 25 year Mac veteran here, new to this forum and Adobe products but an Apple Certified Pro w/emphasis on audio & video, experiencing some disappointment with Captivate 5/Mac's inability to integrate with PowerPoint as advertised.  I'm building a fairly straightforward presentation, making basic edits & changes to the .pptx and when the changes are saved and re-imported back into Captivate, they either fail to appear, or appear only in part.  In the interest of time, I'm having to work around by taking screen shots of the updated ppt slides and inserting them as images, over the Captivate slides which have failed to take the edits & updates.  FYI, running OSX 10.6.4, Captivate 5.0.0.596, Powerpoint 2008 for Mac v. 12.2.6 (100708) in case it matters.  Very grateful for any suggestions or assistance...thanks again, cheers!

Bump...anyone at Adobe, want to at least admit publicly that this is a 'known issue', or shall I just bill you for my testing time on an incomplete product?

  • Completed a slide show - won't play the audio

I have completed a slide show and added 3 songs.  The songs are showing up on the audio bar at the bottom, but when I do full-screen preview there is no audio.  My speakers are working fine, i'm able to play songs from other programs.  I am working in PS Elements 9 on Windows 7.
And another question, if i want to burn the slide show onto a DVD - what type should I buy?
    Thank you.

1 - I suggest that you post information about the format of the music files that you are using in this slide show. Also include whether these files have any album art (which has been known to create problems within the slideshow process).
And I wonder - did you import these music files to the Elements Organizer and if yes, can you play each of these music files from within the Organizer ?? If not, try importing one music file which will not play in the slideshow preview to the Organizer then attempt to play it within the Organizer. (why - sometimes playing a music file from within the Organizer is a good indication of whether the slide show editor can use this music file)
2 - You are asking about burning a slideshow to a DVD - I suspect that you want to burn your slideshow to a DVD that will play in your TV DVD player and Photoshop Elements does not supp[ort the function of creating this type of TV playable DVD.  Adobe Premiere Elements is a separate video software product which does support creating TV DVD player DVDs. However, I suggest that you read my next point before purchasing Adobe Premiere Elements - because there is a simpler process you can try now.
3 - your Windows 7 software license provides a program of Windows DVD Maker which can be used to create a TV playable video DVD format.
Using Windows DVD Maker with the PSE slide show editor is a 2 step process -
    - First, create a WMV file output (standard definition 640 x 480) from the PSE slideshow editor:
    - Second, use that .wmv file (which you saved on your computer hard drive) as input to the MS Windows DVD Maker software.
4- Both for troubleshooting and for future potential use with Windows DVD Maker, I suggest that within the PSE Slideshow Editor you do the Output command to create a .wmv file (640 x 480 standard definition), give it a name and save it on your hard drive. Then attempt to play that .wmv file using Windows Media Player.  Do you hear the music with playback from Windows Media Player ?

  • OAS 4.0.8 fail to send complete HTML from PL/SQL sp

OAS 4.0.8 may fail to send complete HTML response from the PL/SQL cartridge sometimes. It also varies with different browsers or even with different versions of the same browser. Sometimes it works OK, sometimes the HTML was broken. I tried to figure out the reason, but only realized that the proxy server might cause the problem. As I disabled the proxy server setting on my browser at school(the server is on campus), it worked. However, as I did the same thing at home, it did not work. I am confused what the problem is. That trouble never happened for the previous version OAS 3.0.1. Anybody can help me with that. The ORACLE staff in Taiwan did not come out with the solutions!

  • When I try to export PPt slides to iPhoto, it doesn't work. Why?

After downloading iosx, whenever I try to export PPt slides (2011) to iPhoto I get the message that I need a newer version of iPhoto (6 or newer).

Does your PP presentation have anhy animation or music with it?  If so you'll need to export it as a QT movie file and add that file to iPhoto.
If there is no animation or music or you can do without them try this: Here's how to get the slides into iPhoto as a jpeg file:
1 - in Power Point go to the mode where all pages are thumbnails and select all of the pages.
2 - type Command+P to start the print process.
3  - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
NOTE:  If you don't have any of those options go to Toad's Cellarand download these two files:
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
4 - select either of the files above (300 dip is used for photos to be included in a book that will be ordered).
5 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.
That will create a 200 or 300 dpi jpeg file of the item being printed and import it into iPhoto.
