Sometimes problem with my GPS

Hi!
My GPS sometimes goes wrong and doesn't show the right way.
Can it be repared or it's better to change?

Hi hatory,
It sounds like your maps might need updating. I would recommend that you go to the website of whichever brand and see if there are updates available. They will charge you for the updates, then it will be decision time for you on whether to update or get a new one. I hope this helps.
Thank you,

  • I have problem with the GPS when i use the apps

I try to use diffents apps like Runstatic, RunKeepr, Emondo and the record after any running activiti it shorw me a no correct distance and no correct way on the map. Always is more than i did. Is a problem with the GSP of my Iphone ? How I can solvet the problem ? Thanks so much

    Hello eamt,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when you are using apps that use GPS.  It sounds like you are seeing some inaccuracy when using these apps.  I recommend the following steps to improve GPS accuracy:
    Improve GPS accuracy2,4
GPS accuracy varies depending on the number of visible GPS satellites. Locating all visible satellites can take several minutes, with accuracy gradually increasing over time. Use these tips to improve GPS accuracy:
Ensure the date, time, and time zone are correctly set on the device in Settings > General > Date & Time. If possible, use Set Automatically.
Important: Incorrect settings on your computer can sync to your device. Verify the date, time, and time zone on any computer that syncs with your device.
    Restart your device.
Verify that you have a cellular or Wi-Fi network connection. This allows the Assisted GPS (A-GPS) on the device to locate visible GPS satellites faster, in addition to providing initial location information using the Wi-Fi or cellular networks.
Note: Microcells (sometimes called Femtocells) aren't supported with Location Services.
Maintain a clear view of the horizon in several directions. Keep in mind that walls, vehicle roofs, tall buildings, mountains, and other obstructions can block line of sight to GPS satellites. When this occurs, your device will automatically use Wi-Fi or cellular networks to determine your position until the GPS satellites are visible again.

  • Problem with wifi, gps & backlight

I have an iPhone 3GS which has an intermittent problem with the backlight, and also the wifi & gps have failed siknce upgrading the handset to IOS 6, are these niggles fixable, as I'd prefer to keep the phone as it's in immaculate condition?
    Any idea on the cost?

    Hi roberto-
Yes, its a shame. I have also contacted lenovo support hoping that they can sort out this problem. However, first response from them was 'contact your internet service provider since internet connectivity goes down'! :-/ I am hoping I have been able to get through to them now at least about where the problem lies. I wonder if anyone has tried using the laptop with the same broadcom wireless adapter with some other version of OS (linux, windows 7 etc.) and whether they still face the same problem. I haven't tried that yet. If this is just an OS / driver issue I hope someone somewhere is working on a fix! If not, I guess the only other solution would be to get an external USB wifi adapter but that is not something one would want to do when you buy a brand new Lenovo laptop. This was a big let down for me.

  • Problems with Blackberry GPS

I have tried getting driving directions using BB Maps. I turn the GPS on and it recognizes my location, then I enter the end address and the BB finds the best route. When I go to view map there is a purple line that I am supposed to follow to the location. After a little while when I go back to the map, after the screen has gone black to save power, the purple line that I am to follow doesnt match up to the streets! Has anyone else had this problem? How do I fix it? Is there a way I can upgrade my software or something, or is there a better map or app out there that works better? Please someone give me some advice. Thanks

Give it time to refresh your GPS.
Google Maps can be exact also, but with 3800 meters, it appears you are using only the cell tower triangulation.
    Do this:
Make certain that you in an area of good signal coverage AND outside with a clear view of the sky in an open area of no tall buildings.
Click Options > Advanced > GPS > Menu > Refresh GPS.
Give it up to 10 minutes to refresh, and try 2-3 times in a row.
Then, go try the Google Maps again.
And, to repeat CathLabnurse, who is your carrier?

  • Re: Has anyone else been experiencing problems with the GPS on their galaxy s3?

I have the same problem and this update ruined my vacation. I feel like Verizon it's just trying to extort money from us by making us get new phones. How about a fix Verizon, this is getting old

Safe mode does not fix the gps problem. All location services are on. High accuracy is on. Gps will not lock on and google maps and Waze no longer work. I was using Waze for my daily commute but now it will no longer find a lock.  I have cleared the system cache and reset the phone. That did not work. Verizon, you will fix this at you expense. I did not ask for this upgrade and kept putting it off until one morning out was installed. When Russian hackers disable features on our devices and demand money this is called extortion. I have already been told by Verizon phone support to buy a new phone or pay to get this fixed.

  • Has anyone had a problem with the GPS not working?

My location services dont seem to work.  Nothing that uses my location can find me.  This is a brand new iPad 2

It's more likely the OP's router.  I have a wifi only iPad 2, yet location services work just fine on my iPad.  If I open maps, my location is found quite nicely.  I have seen that some routers do not provide location services and I suspect the OP has such a router.

I have a lot of problems with the GPS of my Lenovo A8-50. I update it to Android 4.4.2 and it takes too much time to locate me (I'm talking about 1 hour or more, sometimes more than one hour and a half). What can I do to solve it?

  • Problem with JPEG files from Leica M and GPS data

It seems there's a serious bug in Camera Raw 8, hosted in Bridge CS6 on an MS Windows machine, with regard to GPS metadata.
When using a Leica M (Typ 240) with a multi-function handgrip then both the DNG files (DNG is Leica's native raw format) and the JPEG files out of the camera will include GPS position data in the respective EXIF metadata sections. However, Bridge refuses to display the JPEG files' GPS data (while there's no problem with the GPS data in the DNG files). Worse yet—when loading a JPEG file in Camera Raw for some parametric adjustments and saving the file then the GPS data will be entirely gone! (Again, no problems with the DNG files' GPS data.)
I suppose that Camera Raw 8 hosted in Bridge CC as well as Lightroom 5 are suffering from the same issue.

Nobody? Absolutely nobody?? Zalman? Eric? Anyone?

  • Problems with email(Yahoo/Gmail) and GPS on E72

Hi, I just got a Nokia E72 and I can't access my mail. I can send emails through the emails I have set up, but I can't do anything else (including seeing my emails) All settings are matched to what they should be. In addition my GPS does not work. I've downloaded the newest Ovi Maps and everything. Google Maps works like a charm though, so I'm not sure what is up with the phone. Everything is being done through wifi, don't have my data plan set up yet. One thing I notice is that my phone always asks like "use/access wlan in offline mode." Does this mean anything? Thanks in advance.

    d_t_a wrote:
Just wondering, could you be more specific with regards to "can't access my mail"? Do you mean your Gmail/Yahoomail don't get sent to the cellphone?
With regards to the E72's internal GPS, I would try this first:
make sure that the "Integrated GPS" positioning method is enabled in the Positioning Method settings.
then, go to an open-air location with little obstructions like tall buildings or trees.
then, make sure to position the cellphone in view of the clear sky (make sure your hand doesn't cover the back portion of the cellphone where the GPS antenna is located)
remain stationary there for about 30 minutes.
If the GPS doesn't get a lock after the above procedure, then there might indeed be a problem with the GPS  of your cellphone. I noted during the first try of the GPS of my E72, it took a really long time to get first GPS lock. Subsequent GPS locks should generally be faster.
What's the use of remaining stationary there for about 30 minutes? You get a better lock while moving.

  • Problems with Blackberry Curve GPS

I am having problems with the GPS feature on my Blackberry Curve. Whenever I start the GPS function on Maps, all it shows is "searching for satellites. Everything is set correctly and it still doesn't do anything. I do a battery pull, then it works fine for a little bit and after awhile, it crashes again.
I shouldn't have to do a battery pull every time I need to use this feature. Anyone have any tips on how to correct this?

When having issues with the Vz Navigator on your Blackberry, you may need to check the application settings. Listed below are steps to ensure  your settings are correct.
    Device Software Version 5.x
From the Home screen, press the Menu button.
    Select Options.
    Select Advanced Options.
    Select GPS.
Select the current setting in the GPS Data Source field.
    Select Device GPS.
Select the current setting in the GPS Services field.
Select one of the following settings:
    Location On
    GPS enabled
    E911 Only
    GPS disabled
Select the current setting in the Location Aiding field.
Select one of the following settings:
    Enabled
    Disabled
    Disabled While Roaming
Press the Menu button then select Save.
Additionally, you may want to update the vz navigator application on your device. I have listed steps below.
From the VZ Navigator home screen, press the Menu button.
If presented with the Update screen, proceed to step 5.
    Select Preferences
    Select Advanced.
    Select Check for Updates.
    Select Accept.
Select Click Here to Download VZ Navigator.
Ensure Set Application Permissions is checked then select Download.
Ensure all permissions are set to Allow, press the Menu button then select Save.
If presented, select Yes / Replace.
    If presented, select OK.
If presented, select Reboot Now / Reboot Later.
The installed application cannot be accessed until the device has rebooted.
Lastly, updating your phone to the network is also recommended once a month. This is called a PRL update and I have listed the steps below:
    To update the PRL:
Power on the phone within the Verizon wireless coverage area.
Dial *228 then press SEND (this call is airtime free and may take up to 2 minutes).
When prompted, press 2 for the option to update the PRL.
Once completed, a confirmation message will appear to informing that the phone has been re-programmed with the new PRL.
Press End to terminate the call.
Power cycle the phone to complete the update.

  • Problem with 10.7.1

i've bought new imac 27" with Lion 10.7. everything was good. until i've installed 10.7.1 update today. applications unexpectedly quits (skype, adium, photoshop cs5, mail), all applications become slow down, sometimes problems with audio, sometimes hang on.
may i rollback to 10.7? and how? or maybe someone know, how to fix this problem?

Start by booting into the Recovery HD. You do this by restarting your iMac while holding down command-r, or by holding down the option key.
Once booted into Recovery HD, launch Disk Utility. Run Repair Disk repeatedly until no errors are found. Reboot into your normal boot volume, launch Disk Utility, and run Repair Permissions one time (even if errors are found and some are not corrected). Then restart one more time.
If that doesn't resolve most of your issues, you can reinstall Lion. Again, boot into Recovery HD then follow the instructions on this page:

    Hello!
I recently just downloaded the 'Waze' app as a backup for my Garmin. I've read a few reviews that seem to rant and rave about how good the GPS app is. It is community driven and maps are constantly being updated by users. Plus it has a few other fun stuff in it (something similar to Gasbuddy where you can owe prices on the map). But like the person above me said, there is lots of useful free GPS apps in the App Store.
Oh and I may be wrong but I remember reading an article about Google being slower about updating its maps system--ie no turn by turn voice, which many people have had complaints about.
    Happy Searching!
Ps - if you switch I wouldn't go to Blackberry.
